Love the fact they are using 'War Machine' by AC/DC, to relate to the character also.

Pretty steamin' for this.

Downunder 03-09-2010 12:13 AM

Oh hell yeah!

Shadow 03-09-2010 01:08 AM

Check the marvel news thread you fucking idiot.

Jon Kano 03-09-2010 01:13 AM

Yeah I'm gettin bored of that thread for EVERYTHING that falls under the Marvel Universe.

Some people might not check it out because it's usually got people in there talking about comic books. Pages and pages of that shit, I like the movies, but I don't actually like comic books. So for the people who just want to see and talk about something separate and films as single entities, other threads can and will be made. It's a forum, if you don't, then by all means fuck off and just ignore it.

The Franchise 03-09-2010 02:12 AM

Looks like it will be a good sequel to a very good movie :y:

Fignuts 03-09-2010 02:28 AM

Yeah, shut up shadow.

Also, I guess Whiplash was reported as being a sort of cross between whiplash and crimson dynamo. And it looks like that race scene happens pretty early. So I hope the "cross" isn't just making whiplash russian. Hope we see some actual crimson dynamo armor in the final battle.

Juan 03-09-2010 02:37 AM

Awesome

Impact! 03-09-2010 09:20 AM

It looks like the robots Whiplash builds are similar in design to Crimson Dynamo...dunno

ClockShot 03-09-2010 09:53 AM

Caught this on AOTS yesterday. I was hoping the suitcase armor would appear. Pretty sweet concept in the cartoon.

Comic film adaptations dominate the Marvel and DC movie threads, the actual comic book discussion is minimal. Just thought I'd correct you on the matter.

Jeritron 03-09-2010 11:40 PM

I feel like certain movies should warrant their own discussion threads.

I know it's your gig, but when news comes up it gets discussed for 2 posts and you, or some of the other regulars, seem to moderate to another topic.
Won't lie, you seem to police those threads and they kinda suck to post in.

If they want to start a thread on the matter it will stand.

so how about we just have a big EA thread in the vg forum and discuss all of their games in there

don't hurt me

I know. But there has been a lot of comic talk lately, and whether or not said movies get discussed before, during or after other debates, sometimes people lose track, things get ignored etc.

A new thread is in the same forum, and it doesn't take much to link the two, or copy and paste other posts if a similar topic comes up.

Unless it's against the rules, there is no problem.

Jon Kano 03-09-2010 11:48 PM

Also, as much as I like Don Cheadle, I wish they kept the other guy.

It's crossed my mind, the concept of publisher threads.

I have no issue with exclusive threads, I've had the comic movie threads while posting in or starting threads on individual movies. I don't even have a problem with this thread, I just took offense to an unfounded comment and went on to correct the poster. That's all.

Fignuts 03-10-2010 02:04 AM

I will continue to post about comics in the DC and Marvel threads, just because there is really no other place to do so.

There should be an official comic book thread! I post on a comic board or 3- but yeah, why not?

Fignuts 03-10-2010 02:12 AM

Pretty sure quite a few of the posters who would be into it, don't post in casual. That's where the first one was. it was active for a while, but eventually fell.

Kalyx triaD 03-10-2010 02:13 AM

That's cool, could solve the apparent comic book spam in the comic book movie thread. :shifty:

Rammsteinmad 03-10-2010 06:52 AM

Looks sweet. Not too keen on the armour at the end of the trailer though (the red and silver one).

Kalyx triaD 03-10-2010 06:54 AM

The travel suit's badass, and those colors were used during the Armor Wars arc, I think.

Reavant 03-10-2010 02:21 PM

You guys are fucks.... dont change anything. if news, such as iron man 2, is big enough then give it their own thread.

Jon Kano 03-10-2010 02:23 PM

Oh, it's big enough.

i mean why the hell would the other guy turn down the role. fucking idiot.

Jon Kano 03-10-2010 05:22 PM

I don't think he did, I read it was a studio thing wasn't it? or pay?

Fignuts 03-10-2010 05:23 PM

Think it was pay. Was definitely him passing on the role though.

Jon Kano 03-10-2010 05:34 PM

Well, you do defend those movies to the grave regardless of what is being said or if you've even seen them yet. As long as it has the Marvel or DC tag

Which has shit to do with policing anything.

Jeritron 03-11-2010 04:41 AM

Policing negativity of any kind towards Marvel Ltd.

BigDaddyCool 03-12-2010 11:18 AM

IF I could weigh in on the marvel movie thread discussion. Movies such as Iron Man 2 deserve there own thread because I'm not filtering through the mish-mash thread to pull out some conversation about a big movie. Little movies, like Hulk v Wolverine or something that no one will see or rumors about who is going to be in Ironman 3 are fine for the big marvel thread.

Jon Kano 03-12-2010 11:28 AM

As long as its a decently made thread, and has a real reason for being created...and yinno, how much memory does a thread take up? I really don't see the problem some people have presented.

Kane Knight 03-12-2010 11:37 AM

Kano's right, shut the fuck up Shadow and Kalyx.

Anyway, the movie looks bloody awesome. Only complaint is it seems dumb that anyone with a box of scrap metal can put together a super reactor and become a super hero (or villain, in this case).

Everything else looks fucking incredible.

BigDaddyCool 03-12-2010 11:42 AM

Fuck, I feel so dirty agreeing with Kano.

You didn't know that? I have build 3 suits. It also helps to know how to weld.

It's not like there are are hundreds of people in the film making their own iron men. Just the russian scientist that Rourke plays. Even sam rockwell's character needs whiplash's help to make one.

Not really dumb to me, that there is someone else in the world at starks level of intelligence.

Jon Kano 03-12-2010 03:27 PM

Isn't Stark's father going to be in this film? he could turn out to be a bad guy.

He is dead.

Jon Kano 03-12-2010 03:33 PM

Yeah well forgive me for thinking anyone comes 'back from the dead' in TV and film.

He is listed on IMDB in the main cast so it's a possibility.

BigDaddyCool 03-12-2010 04:09 PM

No, I killed him dead forever.

Probably just a flashback. His dad never showed up in the comics(outside of some alternate dimension story) and Favreau sticks pretty close to the source material.

Kalyx triaD 03-12-2010 08:14 PM

Listen to you, bitches.

Cute how everyone dodged this post to rally against an idea neither me or Shadow actually conjured.

Jon Kano 03-12-2010 11:09 PM

Jesus christ man let it go

Kalyx triaD 03-12-2010 11:11 PM

Fuck that. There's three replies supporting the strawman after I clarified. Three. I need to let it go? Read the thread.

Can I know just ONE thing before I respond to that? - Are you on your period?

Jon Kano 03-12-2010 11:14 PM

I made a point, people agreed, it's just one film under a whole universe getting its own thread, what is the problem??

Juan 03-12-2010 11:16 PM

Kalyx, do you ever tire of being such a whiny, drama queen?

Kalyx triaD 03-12-2010 11:17 PM

The real world governmennt is scrapping tried and true planes to replace them with a yet-unfeasible superfighter. Including their prior superfighter.

Someone at Stark's intelligence who knows how to make the exact same power source. Who happens to have the right materials for it.

Yeah, nothing dumb about that.

And when Iron Man 3 has yet another guy who built an Iron Man style weapon in his mom's basement, it still won't be dumb.

Um...no there really isn't. One guy out of the billions of people on the planet figuring out how stark made the arc reactor, doesn't seem plausible to you?

And as for getting the materials, it's obvious from the trailers that the film doesn't take place the next day. Some time has passed, and if he figured out how to replicate the arc reactor, than in time, he can aquire the parts.

Will agree it will be lame, if they go the same route for a third movie.

Fignuts 03-15-2010 05:27 PM

I mean Stark has always been a genius in the comics, but he's far from the smartest guy on the planet.

thedamndest 03-15-2010 05:29 PM

Mickey Rourke looks like Eddie Van Halen with those parachute pants.
