Golberg returning to WWE?
source: www.f4wonline.com
While the clip of Bill Goldberg pinning Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XX was largely aired this past week on Raw to put over tomorrow night's special guest host, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, WWE has indeed been in talks with the former wrestling megastar regarding a relationship renewal. WWE officials recognize he's not going to come back and wrestle, but they're hopeful of reaching a deal where they can use his likeness in video games and perhaps an induction into next week year's Hall of Fame class considering they are running low on "main eventers." Next year's Hall of Fame class is expected to have a WCW theme considering that it will be taking place in Atlanta, Georgia. |
Can't wait for next week year's HOF.
Very interesting. Goldberg being in WWE video games, being put into the Hall of Fame and all that jazz all sort of grab my attention. I don't know why Goldberg would refute this offer -- he gets to pretty much do nothing and gets his star shone again. Hell, if he wanted to, he could probably come back for a match against a random heel at WrestleMania XXVII and win in a squash. Then he'd be 2-0 at WrestleMania.

Goldberg vs Undertaker WM 27 :naughty:
It would be cool to see Goldberg back for a short run. Goldberg/Orton, Goldberg/Cena and Goldberg/Batista (basically the Lesnar match done right) could all be big draws.
The WCW theme HOF sounds good too :y: |

Goldberg for raw gm

Goldberg was the first wrestler I was ever a mark for. Therefore, I will mark for everything he does no matter what.
I think we're more likely to see Ron Simmons and Jake Roberts inducted into the HoF next year than we are Goldberg, but I certainly wouldn't rule Goldberg out, necessarily.
Goldberg in WWE HOF... Interesting... Kind of...

Amazing wrestler, but he's pretty much the poster boy of what WWE is trying to distance themselves from. |
With the recent talks about a Goldust push and a Goldberg return, could we be on the horizon of a clash between these two Golden titans?

Yeah he's comin back, so Bret Hart can have a rematch at Backlash and "seriously" injure him.
So how long is Sting's contract for?
Because if it's possible for him to make a WWE appearance, it seems silly to be fantasizing about Goldberg matches. And if he is ever going to come to WWE, next years mania would be the time. Seems silly to fantasize about Goldberg matches in any situation, tbh. |
WCW flavor to the HOF?

Yeah, El Dandy is probably a lock.
I'm all about putting Goldberg in the HOF just for the entertaining value of it. But is he really deserving to be in the HOF?
More deserving than Pete Rose.
I beg to differ.
Technically Pete Ross probably does have more of a spot in WWE history than Goldberg does.
I beg to differ.
And of course, I mean Pete Rose, the former baseball player, and not Pete Ross, Superman's childhood friend.
Pete Rose deserves to be in the CELEBRITY hall of fame, more than Goldberg deserves to be in the wrestler hall of fame.
Note the caps, juan. |
There shouldn't even BE a celebrity wing.
I don't see why people have a problem with WCW or ECW wrestlers going into the WWE HOF when you consider the circumstances. Vince owns pretty much everything to do with both companies. Obviously since they're no longer around they can't induct their workers into anything similar. Instead of bitching and moaning that *insert name* wasn't a WWE guy at least show Vince some respect for allowing their efforts to be recognized.

Add that to the fact that countless celebrities have come and gone through the business at one point or another and it's more than acceptable. |
And as much as I despise him as a wrestler, Goldberg more than deserves into the Hall of Fame. Sure, it was a "right place right time" type of deal, but it was a huge deal.
How is Mr. T not in it yet?
I don't even care, tbh. HoF is such a joke at this point.

Pete Rose doesn't deserve shit. He will be one of the inductee's that won't be televised. Goldberg would be televised. |

Baffled at how anybody can think Golf and Nascar are more popular than Baseball.

Going back to the original topic, fuck women drivers!
For realz! Thanks mackem for keeping on topic! So to add my two cents:
Post :p |
Are we really going to question goldberg, who was the TOP guy in a company that was number one in the world at the time and a multiple time champion, when Koko Fucking B Fucking Ware is in?
How the fuck can they be running out of main eventers? There's fucking loads of people.
Also, what did Pete Rose actually do besides a few Wrestlemania appearances?
Quote:
Hell yeah that's what I thought. Dave Youell should probably be in the HoF then since he's been a number of Wrestlemanias, and probably had more screen time than all of Pete Roses put together.

I don't mind Goldstein in video games, but I hope he stays out of WWE proper.
Lol. Proper. Lol. stukkband.
Mr. T, Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather and David Arquette need to go into the celebrity wing of the Hall of Fame at some point, if they are actually going to make it worth a damn. Specifically Mr. T and Mike Tyson, because one headlined the first WrestleMania, and the other helped usher in one of the biggest booms in wrestling history. Mayweather and Arquette are there mainly for more kayfabe reasons. I wonder if Freddie Prinze, Jr. will ever go in? Jay Leno? |
don't forget Dennis Rodman
He'll be in TNA soon. However, when Vince buys TNA I fully expect Dennis Rodman, Pacman Jones, Hermie Sadler, Jenna Morasca and Danny Bonaduce to all be inducted.
let's not forget Rodman's memorable performance with the nWo
If I don't post here ever again, it's because I've killed myself as I remembered that.
lol. good times.
Pete Rose being inducted into the WWE HALL OF FAME is quite possibly the greatest publicity stunt McMahon and company have ever pulled off, and was quite honestly nothing short of brilliant.
For people to take offense to a maneuver the earned them that insane level of mainstream media coverage (which in nearly all cases they couldn't have bought if they'd tried) is pretty insane, and the true definition of missing the big picture. |
yeah! if goldberg will return to the wwe..?? ahah! tna is on trouble.. ii also wnat to see taker vs goldberg at mania..
I'd love it if Goldberg WANTED to wrestle, but I have read interview where he said it wasn't going to happen. But so did Bret Hart, and Shawn Michaels, and Ric Flair, and Terry Funk etc... So who knows? There are some great match up for Goldberg if he were to return, Cena, Taker, Orton, Batista, Edge, Jericho, Triple H, Michaels... So I would love it but for the sake of realism, it would also be really cool if he became a commentator for Raw.
And yeah he deserves the Hall of Fame, he is one of the reasons that WCW was able to keep up with WWE for several years. WCW's ONLY home grown superstar.

David Arquette to the Celebrity Wing?
Quote:
What's wrong with David Arquette?
he's a former World Heavyweight Champion
Yeah, David Arquette will be in there one day. It only makes sense. From a kayfabe point of view, he is a former WCW Champion. And the dude is a big fan of the business, and never wanted to be champion. If you want to talk about celebrities that had an impact, Arquette belongs there.
Plus, if they got Courtney Cox to do an appearance or two it would be pretty good publicity for them. Not sure if she would, though. |

And regardless of how one critically views the guy, he was one of the biggest stars in professional wrestling's history. Fact. The man drew money. I wouldn't want to see him in an Iron Man Match more than the next guy, but his contributions to wrestling from a mere superficial point of view are tremendous. I'm sure more people know about him more than Terry Funk, and arguably some of the other guys on that list -- for right or wrong. Not sure how possible this is, but given that he's rested up a fair bit, and has gone on the record saying that he could go another two years full-time if he wanted to (although he has expressed no desire to): Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Goldberg could still be a money match. There are downsides to it (timing, the egos involved, and giving a Mania spot to two guys who don't wrestle anymore), but from a financial standpoint, I think the WWE would be fools not to consider it. |
They need to induct Brian Pillman, and have Austin do his speech.
Totally irrelevant to WCW, but I fully expect HBK by 2012. |
Yes, yes, a million times yes.

http://tvbythenumbers.com/wp-content...08-550x441.gif Ok, so I have proved the falling popularity of baseball. But how does that prove that Nascar is more popular? Ah, lookie here. I found another picture. http://tvbythenumbers.com/wp-content...09-590x411.gif Now I myself don't watch either of these sports because I'm not a complete lame-ass or a redneck who took my cousin to prom. I just wanted to prove you wrong. Don't ever question me again. |
Pete Rose was obviously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame since he's banned from baseball's Hall of Fame. It was a nice gesture on WWE's part, so why don't all you of you Pete Rose haters shut the fuck up and stop being faggoty bitches about something that doesn't affect you AT ALL.
Koko B. Ware is in, OK? Anybody can be in. |
Um, last year's series had almost 23 million viewers.
And the 2004 ALCS, had 31.5 million viewers 2008 drew lower numbers due to Tampa being in it. |
a goldberg return for a short run maybe against batista or orton would be cool.. but they bring back goldberg for HOF and a goldberg dvd would be the shit
the only fond memory i have of goldberg is the rock concert 2 where the rock brought out gillberg and made fun of goldberg for 20 minutes

Goldberg deserves the nod for the HOF. In terms of being brought back for a short program, or even limited schedule for another year, it's a crapshoot whether or not he would draw. The landscape has changed ten fold over Goldberg's 6 year absence. Many of the kid-heavy audiences may not give Goldberg the reception that he would've gotten some years back.

I'm trying not to imagine an older Goldberg wrestling with years of ring rust getting back into the ring. Having said that if he squashes people, it wouldn't take much effort, I guess.
