Guesses For Next Year's Possible WCW-Themed Hall of Fame
They are saying that next year's WWE Hall of Fame may have a WCW theme to it. Write down your 8 hall of fame inductees for 2011, and also include 2 possible others. Include at least 1 celebrity. Note that tag teams should count as one inductee. Here are mine.....
Hall of Fame Goldberg Arn Anderson Road Warriors Brian Pillman Ted Turner The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy, Buddy Jack Roberts) Lou Thesz Donald Trump Possible Others Sting Big Van Vader |
Above all I want Macho Man Randy Savage to get inducted but I just don't see that happening, so I went with more realistic inductions, and yes Sting being inducted is more realistic than Savage at this point.
|
Already discussed this a bit in some other thread, but I'll say it again...
El Dandy is most definitely a lock. |

David Arquette in the celebrity wing....
and Ralphus....can't forget about him [/sarcasm] really the only lock next year would be Arn Anderson if the negotiations do lead to something, then Goldberg might be in there as well most of the other high-profile WCW stars are still in TNA or are already in the HOF Aside from the names that CWK has already mentioned, what do you guys think of the chances of Ron Simmons, Tully Blanchard or Lex Luger? |
I would definitely say Ron Simmons, though I can't decide whether or not it should be as a singles wrestler or as a tag team with Butch Reed

seeing as the cruiserweight division was also a WCW staple...does Dean Malenko or any other CW have a shot to get in? Obviously there is Rey, but chances are he'll still be active by then
|
Revised:
The Disco Inferno Berlin Bunkhouse Buck Reese of Raven's Flock Erik Watts The Black Scorpion Horace Hogan Steve "Mongo" McMichael |
Evad Sullivan ftw.
|
I'm going to say Sting.
|
But Sting will still be in TNA, so they'll induct Fake Sting instead. Then real Sting will get all emo.
|
How lame is it that Flair had to go an ruin an amazing sendoff and wont be able to induct Arn Anderson next year....I mean they'll probably have Tully Blanchard do it, but still.

No one should have any hard feeling for Flair wrestling again. First off, I think it was about 99% WWE pushing Flair to retire and have that grand sendoff so they could use it as a marketing tool and selling point for Wrestlemania. Secondly, after he "retired" and was still under contract to WWE, WWE was not allowing him to particpate in any kind of wrestling fuctions outside of the WWE banner, not legend tribute shows, autograph signings, guest appearances, etc. Flair was turning down hundreds of thousands of dollars because WWE was making him do it, which is why Flair asked for a early release from his contract. Point is, was the sendoff at Mania 24 nice? Yes. But should Flair still be allowed to wrestle if he is able or wants to? Yes. Should he be able to make money in anyway that he can to provide for his family and fund his next divorce? Yes.
if you ask me, it was a moronic move by WWE to let a dedicated guy like Flair get away, could have been such an asset when it came to coaching younger wrestlers, but nooooo WWE has to win the pissing contest everytime, even though they have no true competitors. Ric Flair signing autographs and cutting an in-ring promo at Mid-South-West Idaho Championship Wrestling would have absolutely zero impact on WWE's financial well being. They should have let Flair do his thing and kept him. |
For me...I agree with you about WWE being d-baggish with their treatment of him afterwards.
But if you are Flair: 1. Why go through with the angle if you didnt wanna retire? 2. Why the hell would you ever wanna wrestle again after having such an amazing match and sendoff? I know people are gonna say its who he is and he needs the money, but he has a ton of income to live from on doing lottery tickets and stuff. It just kinda tarnishes his legacy a bit, in my humble opinion. |

He does it because it generates enough buzz and publicity, and he may have thought that that would have been his last run - figuring the boys at WWE would cut him some slack and let him do his thing; just now that McMahon pulls a 'US government' and the wrestlers have taken the 'everyday citizen' role, Flair didn't have the kind of pull that he used to have in the business. He needs a lot more money than what he's making by putting his face on a lottery ticket, BTW. The man has more financial troubles than anyone else I have seen at his level; not since Gorgeous George. |
Big Boss Man

Sting
Ron Simmons DDP Lex Luger Brian Pillman Arn Anderson Steiners (only as a team) Freebirds Midnight Express Rock n Roll Express Jim Cornette (not happening but anyway..) Tony Shiavonne (haha) Arquette/Robocop/Jay Leno/Dennis Rodman to the Celebrity Wing Of all those, I could totally see: Sting (if not still in TNA, if he is then DDP as the big name) Ron Simmons (former WWE guy so it shouldnt be hard) Arn Anderson (still with WWE, easy) Freebirds (again, shouldnt be hard to get Hayes) Jay Leno to the Celeb Wing since he works for NBC/Universal |
Vader? I don't think he's in yet?

Ron Simmons
The Fabulous Freebirds The 4 Horsemen (Arn & Ole Anderson, Blanchard & JJ Dillon) Tony Schiavone Brian Pillman Harlem Heat That's all I can think of |
Goldberg
Ron Simmons Arn Anderson & Ole Anderson James J. Dillon They usually add a diva, but the only one I can think of is Madusa and I'm pretty sure she is on bad terms with WWE right now. |
Vader should be at the top of the list.

Call It Now- HoF 2011
Let's face it- next year's Wrestlemania week takes place in some good old WCW stompin' grounds. We have WWE in talks with Goldberg, and a number of WCW wrestlers who deserve their time to shine. So, who do you think will make it into the WWE Hall of Fame, Class of 2011?
My point of view on this.... Goldberg- For what he did in the Monday Night Wars Randy Savage OR The Ultimate Warrior- Two Icons Honky Tonk Man- Might not be a WCW theme, however they wanted him this year Arn Anderson- Well overdue Ron Simmions- First black heavyweight champion The Freebirds- They're in Badstreet USA Ted Turner- See Goldberg, only times it by a few million Haystacks Calhoun- Don't make me explain who he is, again Any other points of view? |
I believe Goldberg will go in (they WILL be in Atlanta, after all)...
...Lex Luger deserves to go in...so does Arn Anderson... ...Ron Simmons does as well, but unfortunately his speech would be ruined by people wanting him to go "DAMN!"... ...if they ever can bury whatever hatchet they may have with Randy Savage, they should go ahead and put him in also... ...Davey Boy Smith should go in...he was in WWE and WCW...what are they waiting for to induct him? For Wrestlemania to be held in England? ...and i'd probably round it out with...The Steiner Brothers. |
Arn Anderson-Automatic
Ron Simmons-Automatic Honky Tonk Man-Automatic Davey Boy Smith-Should Happen Lex Luger-Should Happen Dean Malenko-Cool to See Medusa/Alundra Blaze- Doubtful (after all, she did throw the WWF women's title in the trash on WCW tv) |
No love for Vader?
Come on... |

...allright, scratch the Steiners... ...Leon is in. |
What about the the Rocky Mountain Monst......damn beat me to it
|
If they're serious with HBK retiring...HBK I know he wasn't WCW at all but still, it would be like Vince to do a bunch of WCW guys and have HBK, one of his guys, be the headline inductee.
|
...I wanna say after tonight, if all is said and done...HBK. He deserves it.
|

Problem is, that if they really ARE trying to do a "WCW Themed" Hall of Fame, having HBK as the headline inductee would overshadow everyone else, thus the "WCW Theme" not having much impact. I would guess that when HBK goes in, they will build the whole ceremony around him, with maybe 3 or 4 lesser guys joining him. PS: Im 24 years old, and HBK would be the first guy who came into his own during the "New Generation Era" who goes in, making me more connected to him, cause I saw him for so long...face, tweener, heel...its going to be different seeing him go into the HOF, than someone like Hulk Hogan, Ted Dibiase, even Stone Cold (cause Stone Cold came into his own relatively late in his career and i really didnt grow up watching him)... ...when HBK goes in, its going to be emotional for me, i know it. |
I wonder who would induct HBK?? My $$$ would be on it being HHH, but i think it would be awesome of Bret or even 'Taker inducted him.
Vader and JJ Dillon would be 2 other good choices for HOF...only if Jericho inducts Dillon and calls him JoJo... |
