Wonder what Cena's entrance is gonna be.

AngryMidjit 03-28-2010 11:45 AM

you just couldn't wait to start this, could you?

Xero 03-28-2010 11:46 AM

We always start the Mania thread early in the day.

AngryMidjit 03-28-2010 11:47 AM

i'm betting his entrance will be something where he runs to the ring, runs the ropes, then takes his shirt off to a high pitched cheer

Pretty stoked about this Mania to be honest. :y:

Krimzon7 03-28-2010 12:27 PM

I'm super duper mega amped to watch this show. I'm a closet geek, so I'm debating on whether or not to take my lap top to the pub I'm watching mania at.

James Steele 03-28-2010 01:32 PM

I am very excited about this show, and I'm watching it with some people from work. I am going to get some BBQ and watch THE SHOWCASE OF THE IMMORTALS!

Johnny Vegas 03-28-2010 01:51 PM

James Steele 03-28-2010 01:53 PM

FUCK, 6pm CST can't get here fast enough.

James Steele 03-28-2010 02:02 PM

I really hope they made new video packages to air on the PPV because as great as they are, I am getting tired of watching these same video packages.

RatedGSuperstar 03-28-2010 02:06 PM

Any guesses on crazy MITB spots? I'd love to see an Air Bourne from the top of a ladder, even if it knocks Bourne out for the rest of the match.

Lots of appealing matches on the card, but we've known that for weeks. Hart/McMahon is just going to be a beatdown (like Triple H/Orton was last year) but should still be fun, I hope they give Edge/Jericho plenty of time, and Undertaker/Michaels speaks for itself.

The match I'm most excited for is Punk/Mysterio, though. Punk has just been absolute money in this feud. Interrupting the birthday party for Mysterio's daughter might just be my favorite Punk segment of the past year, surpassing anything he did in the Jeff Hardy feud.

VSG 03-28-2010 02:06 PM

6 hour countdown!

I do hope they will open with Punk-Mysterio, that will be a grand start. As far as MITB goes, Kofi on 1 ladder inside, bourne on another outside. Both jump towards the ring ropes, somehow land their feet on the top rope and jump onto the other guys on either side! Now that is something too good to be true..

Innovator 03-28-2010 02:14 PM

Aviators or the old school Hitman shades?

Ah yes, C.M Punks WWE debut

Evil Vito 03-28-2010 02:17 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Posted this in another thread, but I've gotta say...they've really kept me guessing with the WWE and World Heavyweight Title matches. Cena and Edge both seem like slam dunks to win, but both belts have only changed hands at Mania once (WM 21, Cena and Batista each winning their first) and it would seem a bit silly for Jericho and Batista to both only have one-month title reigns (although short reigns seem to be a new trend).</font>

Triple Naitch 03-28-2010 02:22 PM

Anybody know if it's worth buying the WWE.com stream?

Evil Vito 03-28-2010 02:27 PM

<font color=goldenrod>I definitely have to go to WM one of these years. I'm graduating college next year so going to Mania would be an awesome trip but I'm guessing my friends will want to go to Vegas or somewhere pricy in May. Can't really afford two big trips in a two month span.

Might wind up having to wait til WM30 since I'll already be close to the venue unless they swerve everybody and don't have it at MSG.</font>

kareru 03-28-2010 02:54 PM

hbk/taker is going to be fucking epic

Lock Jaw 03-28-2010 03:01 PM

First Mania since 21 that I am considering buying.

Providence Peep 03-28-2010 03:18 PM

Although I fear we won't be surprised by many of the match results, I'm still looking forward to the show. How can any true Sports Entertainment fan NOT look forward to WrestleMania every year?!?

Alright, just got back from frisbee golf, ordered a couple pizzas, watching the Duke/Baylor game @ 4pm and then finally....I get a bag of weed, I uh mean Wrestlemania!

The Show Off 03-28-2010 03:33 PM

Being the nerd I am I've made my all time Wrestlemania card...

Essentially the rules are list 10 matches that happened at Wrestlemania. You can't repeat a wrestler or a title on the same card. Here's what mine looks like...

--Triple H (c) v. The Big Show v. Mick Foley v. The Rock (Fatal Four Way Elimination Match for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship WWF Wrestlemania 2000)

--Kurt Angle (c) v. Randy Orton v. Rey Mysterio (Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship WWE Wrestlemania 22)

--Hulk Hogan v. Vince McMahon (Street Fight WWE Wrestlemania XIX)

--Chris Jericho v. Shawn Michaels (WWE Wrestlemania XIX)

--Randy Savage v. The Ultimate Warrior (Career Ending Match WWF Wrestlemania VII)

--Ric Flair v. The Undertaker (No Disqualification Match WWE Wrestlemania X-8)

--The Dudley Boyz (c) v. Christian & Edge v. The Hardy Boyz (Triangle Ladder Match for the WWF World Tag Team Championship WWF Wrestlemania 2000)

--Jake Roberts v. Rick Rude (First Round Match WWF Wrestlemania IV)

--Chris Benoit (c) v. Montel Vontavious Porter (for the WWE United States Championship, WWE Wrestlemania 23)

--Bret Hart v. Owen Hart (WWF Wrestlemania X)

Providence Peep 03-28-2010 03:36 PM

As of yesterday afternoon, WWE officials were still going over the match order for tonight's WrestleMania 26. Believe it or not, there has at least been talk this weekend of having Vince McMahon vs. Bret Hart as the last match. It was previously noted that John Cena vs. Batista was set to go on last but apparently they still haven't decided. Source: F4Wonline.com

Evil Vito 03-28-2010 03:45 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Really hope Batista vs. Cena doesn't go on last. I'm expecting a Cena win either way but given how much focus there's been on the kids I don't expect to see a heel ending WM with a win at any point in the next few years. Hoping for a swerve but I can't see it.</font>

Anybody Thrilla 03-28-2010 03:53 PM

I just officially purchased the show (in HD ). It looks like I'll have about 14 people over here. Some are huge wrestling fans, some have only a mild interest, but we're gonna have a blast regardless. Threw some dishes in and I have a bit more cleaning to do, but that should help pass the time. WOOOOOOOO!

Loose Cannon 03-28-2010 03:54 PM

god what a card. I wish some place was showing it here.

lets sticky this

Anybody Thrilla 03-28-2010 04:03 PM

Just order it, Cannon.

Mr. C 03-28-2010 04:05 PM

I'm going to predict that Shane McMahon and Shawn Michaels (after losing to Undertaker) get involved in the Bret Hart/Vince McMahon match.

Here's the order I'd put Wrestlemania and the results I'd book...

For the WWE Championship
Batista (c) v. John Cena
Batista hits John with the Attitude Adjustment. Cena hist Batista with the Batista Bomb. John Cena wins with an attitude adjustment from the second turnbuckle.

Career v. Streak
Shawn Michaels v. The Undertaker
Shawn loses when he passes out in the Hell's Gate Submission Hold.

No Holds Barred Match
Bret Hart v. Vince McMahon
No funny buisness, no bullshit. Bret and Vince fight for about ten minutes and Vince taps to the Sharpshooter.

Shemus v. Triple H
Triple H wins a hard fought match. After the match Triple H respects Shemus goes for the handshake only to get assulted by Shemus.

For the World Heavyweight Championship
Chris Jericho (c) v. Edge
Edge hits a spear for a close 2 count. Edge hits another spear Jericho gets a leg on the ropes. Edge hits a third spear and Jericho falls to the outside. Edge goes for a fourth spear and gets hit with the code breaker and Jericho wins.

For the Unified Tag Team Championship
ShowMiz (c) v. John Morrison & Ron Killings
ShoMiz wins clean with a knockout punch.

Triple Threat Match
Cody Rhodes v. Randy Orton v. Ted DiBiase
Randy Orton wins pinning Ted DiBiase. After the match Randy Orton sets up for the punt but is stopped by Cody who instead attacks Ted on his own. After he's done beating down Ted he raises Randy Orton's hand and it turns out they were working together all along. Then Randy Orton RKO's Cody and it turns out they weren't working together.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Christian v. Dolph Ziggler v. Drew McIntyre v. Evan Borne v. Jack Swagger v. Kane v. Kofi Kingston v. Matt Hardy v. Montel Vontavious Porter v. Shelton Benjamin
MVP wins and then with the Brief case in his position turns heel and because the arrogant MVP we all learned to love.

10-Diva Tag Match
Beth Phoenix, Eve, Gail Kim, Kelly Kelly, & Mickie James v. Alicia Fox, Layla, Maryse, Michelle McCool, & Vickie Guerrero
The face Diva's win when Beth Phoenix pins Vicky Guerrero

If Mysterio Loses He Must Join the Straight Edge Society
CM Punk v. Rey Mysterio
CM Punk wins with help from Luke Gallows, Serena, and Darren Young who comes to the ring with his head shaved finally accepting straight edge in his life.

James Steele 03-28-2010 04:10 PM

Otherwise, I'll be watching WM alone and that's not nearly as much fun as watching it with fellow fans. :(

I think the results of Cena/Batista is entirely dependent on its place on the card. If it's on in the middle of the card Batista wins. If its on at the end of the show Cena wins.

This is very true. I also think the World Title match be influenced by the result of Cena/Batista. If Cena wins, Jericho retains. If Batista retains, Edge wins.

Well maybe not.

Apparently my area no longer carries the two PPVHD stations that would show Mania. So I have to watch on shitty standard definition where my entire screen won't even be utilized. Was on the phone for 30 minutes hoping it was some kind of system fuck-up but apparently not.

Hopefully this show lives up to the hype after all this hassle.</font>

I'm changing my tipsters pick from HBK to Taker strictly based on that JR tweet. I'm guessing this could be Shawn's farewell afterall.

Loose Cannon 03-28-2010 06:24 PM

or....Taker's first Mania loss

CSL 03-28-2010 06:26 PM

I just don't see that working as a close for Mania unless something big happens that leads to the loss. I think a standing ovation/HBK lovefest is more likely.

Evil Vito 03-28-2010 06:27 PM

<font color=goldenrod>My money's on Taker. However, I can't see this being Shawn's actual last match...which in a way might be a shame because he'd almost certainly get a Flair-esque sendoff tomorrow night (or tonight even).</font>

Mr. C 03-28-2010 06:27 PM

I just checked. It doesn't say that, and he's said repeatedly in his blog he's not in the know anyway, so even if he was, it would just be speculation.

Evil Vito 03-28-2010 06:29 PM

Cena has no business winning the title. Batista should retain for so many reasons.

Innovator 03-28-2010 06:31 PM

Zeeboe 03-28-2010 06:38 PM

This is the first Wrestlemania I've consider ordering. I really would like to see Bret wrestle, and I'm sure the HBK/Undertaker match will also make me feel young again. I even went to the point of looking up how to order Wrestlemania. Then I saw the price. 54.95!? No thanks.

- Cheap bastard

Zeeboe 03-28-2010 06:42 PM

I can see now why my old man would not always buy me wrestling PPV's, and would get pissed if I called the 1-900 numbers. Kinda makes me feel bad now. Funny how as you grow older, you see things more from your parents point of view on certain things.

Anyhow, maybe I'll call my old man, and ask if he'll order Wrestlemania for me. :)

Kidding. On a serious note, I rather wait for the blu-ray/DVD, or for someone to post it on the net before WWE suits take it down.

The Franchise 03-28-2010 06:53 PM

I am watching Triple H vs Randy Orton from Wrestlemania 25. This match sucks.

Zeeboe 03-28-2010 06:54 PM

If it was 29.95 or something, I'd highly consider it. Heck, I'd probably get it, but I just think of all the things I could do with 54.95. I also fear I'll regret it, and feel robbed later. I really am not too into today's WWE and would probably be bored, and would be looking more forward to backstage skits and interviews, as well as cameos from wrestlers I grew up watching, and the only matches that would make my heart beat faster are Bret/McMahon and Taker/HBK.

(BTW - I just realized I missed the hall of fame....dang.)

On the other hand, I've never in my life order a Wrestlemania before, and saw one live, and this could very well be Bret Hart's final match. Could also be Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker's final match too. After that, I may never desire to order Wrestlemania again.....shoot man, the last Wrestlemania I consider ordering, and regretted not ordering later was eight years ago.....and that was when I was still really into wrestling.

It'd also feed some weird inner-child issues I have. Here I am, a grown man now, in my own apartment, with the freedom to make my own choices, and I could finally do what I want to do, and order a WWE PPV without asking my parent's permission like when I was younger. I dunno though. Between my two teenage girlfriends, and now this, I fear my desire to feed this inner-child/teenager will soon lead to my own destruction.

Holy fuck, HHH vs Orton from WM 25 is terrible. Absolutely terrible. That has to be the worst Mania main event since Bam Bam vs LT.

Droford 03-28-2010 06:58 PM

Directv is $65 for HD plus $4 in MD state tax for "PPV Live Events"

ITS AN OUTRAGE
