New season started tonight. They had the first episode with the initial eliminations on after Fight Night.

Just that first episode was better than the entire last season. I'm excited.

And yeah, wow, my girlfriend almost threw up when she saw that dude's nose. I love how in the middle of the fight, Green Hair is all like 'dude, your nose is MESSED up'.

Still not over that frenchman just refused to get back into it.

I'm not a big fan of the whole fighting to get on the show premise.

I'd rather see more interaction between fighters and coaches. Those fights were better then usual though.

Although Tito is a way better coach than I thought he'd be. I thought he'd be more like Rampage style, but he actually seems to legitimately care about his fighters getting better, and helping them.

You should watch TUF Season 3. He's a pretty good coach in that as well.

Yeah this season looks like its going to build up excitement for the Tito vs Chuck. They're going to kill each other. I already want to see Yager get his ass kicked.

Still waiting on Rashaad/Rampage. That heat was incredible, this seems a little contrived. Tito always puts on a show, regardless of the opponent.

I don't know who'll win this one. A bunch of solid fighters, and It does look like Tito is working with the kids. Chuck seems liek a great coach and a better strategist.

That last fight wasn't controversial to me at all. Nick had more strikes than Court and more effective strikes than Court. He near kicked his leg off of his body. Chuck needs to cool off.

Chuck was not a happy boy.

I'm not exactly sure what Tito was watching. It seemed, pretty plain as day, that Baczynski reared back and was trying to kick a field goal with Tavares's head. That was nasty looking. Warranted DQ in my opinion.

Why do Tito's fighters keep illegally striking people in the head?

I mean, he doesn't seem like a dirty fighter really, but how do you accidentally soccer kick a guy in the face while he's basically laying on the ground? I mean, that would've been illegal in most scenarios (had he been on his knees, crouching, etc)

Yeah, I agree. The dude was in a HELL of a fight and just went with it. Thats what separates alot of fighters. Maintaining composure and control. Definitely wasn't malicious.

I can't believe he didn't go out for the third round. Also, why does it seem like every season, both fighters are just about gassed in the second round of every fight?

Because they have no cardio, and completley no idea what to expect. Most of these guys have had under 10 pro fights, against less then stellar competetion. So some may never have made it to the second round. They were probably better than any competetion they faced, so cardio probably never became a problem. Usually the guys who came from wrestling programs are the ones with the better cardio, having gone through training similar to mma. Look at last nights fight, Yager was gassed, the wrestler was ready for another round no problem.

Good point. THe wrestlers are usually never "gassed" though they lack the striking skills of the others. It is just a matter of a severe lack of talent on these shows lately. Even the winners are not that impressive.

Yeah, he has a fairly good chance of beating him if they stay standing, however; from what I remember, Rich was doing great standing up against Kayce. He was mauling him until the illegal shot came. I'm sure his nagging hand will keep him from throwing too many bombs, but if it's a stand up battle, it should be a good one.

I, like many others, am very disappointed with how Yager turned out on the show. In the beginning it seemed like he was going to be the one "most like" Tito and talk copius amounts of shit while backing it all up each and every step of the way. It didn't really turn out that way. The second that he was actually challenged, he just gave it all up and embarrassed himself.

Fair enough. And regarding the cuts; the commissions judges haven't proven to be terribly attentive. Especially for the duration of a fight.

Leben was one of my favorites on the original TUF. Haven't heard a ton about him recently, though.

He doesn't fight a ton. Bit of a questionable stoppage... he looked like he was pretty coherent pretty quickly. Still glad Leban won though. Love that dude. He throws some of the slowest punches I've ever seen but he's just a damn tank.

Fuck Matt Hamil. I mean, I respect the dude for what he's accomplished with the impairment, and I'm sure he's a nice guy but he just rubs me the wrong way and annoys me (granted, I'm the one watching him on TV and judging him without knowing him, so i'm probably the dick).

I love how they say Hamill is unbeaten in his last three fights without mentioning the glaring technicality that was his last win, but I guess there was really no reason to mention it. Still bothers me. Bones Jones is the man.
