While the last RE legitimately hurt my feelings as a fan of the games and cinema in general I have followed this development for a while. I like some of the updates Paul Anderson's doing (is it because his wife, Mila had some weight on the story this time?). - They'll be dipping into the Las Plagus era of the RE games. - Wesker's the main antagonist and they seem to be adapting his badassery. - The movie is filmed in 3D, not subject to a post transfer. This makes the difference in the current soulless trend. - More Claire Redfield. - Her brother Chris makes his film-verse debut as well. - More than a few homages from other films (Terminator Salvation's Conner on the radio, Trinity's escape in Matrix Reloaded). |
One of my favorite movie franchises going. Very excited they finally have part 4 coming our way!
Ahhhhhhhhh, A Perfect Circle, how I miss you.
Still havent seen the third film yet. |

I didn't like any of the other films. Sadly I will probably watch this one day if it's on TV or if a friends lends it to me etc.
But seriously, I haven't played a RE game since RE3 so don't really care for the francise, and I've always thought that actress was madly overated. |
Milla was only any good in Fifth Element, mainly because she kept taking her clothes off, though sadly, they would have her slightly out of focus.
She was god awful in the Joan of Arc film. Christ, bad film all round. |
First one was pretty good, the second sucked and I haven't seen the third one.
I dunno if I'll watch it, I guess it depends on reviews. |
Why do they insist on making these? They should just stick to the animated movies like Degeneration, because it was buttloads better than this garbage.
I liked all 3. Granted NOTHING will touch part one and the wonderous music created by Marilyn Manson. What a mood he set. One of the best zombie films of our generation and easily my favorite video game adaptation.
Res Evil 1--- Liked it
Res Evil 2--- Loved it Res Evil 3--- Hated it This one looks good but then again so did the trailer for the 3rd film. |

I hated these movies at first..because I was expecting like a real movie that made sense and would have some decent drama/comedy mixed in.
But they're ok to just watch and kill time. I'll wait for it on cable |
honestly more Claire Redfield is not good in this case. Ali Larter sucks, and so does the movie version of Claire Redfield.
Mila tweeted that Jill may return. And Ali Larter's awesome. She'd be a great Emma Frost.
Never liked the first two films. Didn't bother with the third. Probably won't bother with this one either. Though, being optimistic, I hope it's good. Just doubtful.

Yes.
Needs more Barry Burton bitches.
Ali Larter cannot act
And suddenly that's important for ventures like this. lol
So in which part did she almost have an affair with some mutant?
I didn't hate any of the other movies but I really liked the first one because of the atmosphere and two because Alice seemed more badass plus I wanted to bang Jill.
Afterlife looks a lot better than the other 3 though. |
All the best characters that you wanted to see do shit in 3, went out like bitches. Hopefully that's not the case in Afterlife.
Chris Redfield Revealed:
http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets...-miller_wm.jpg http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets...-team_wm-1.jpg Check out Claire's attire (Ali Larter, left)! And Alice is looking badass as usual, hopefully they really played down her 'Jean Grey Phoenix' power growth like rumored. Her clones will make an appearance, though, each with their own personalities. Hoping this will be better than the absolute fail of the third movie. |
Wow, that Chris Redfield looks pretty terrible. Not gonna lie.
He isn't spot on, sure, but I dig the design enough.

Maybe next time. lol Or maybe she can have a cameo. Samantha Lathaan or Naomi Harris could pull her off, or if there's a God; the actress from which Sheva was designed.
Yes, she can follow the main characters around shoving herbs down their throats every time they sweat a little.
Sounds like a movie to me.
That guy looks familiar, who is he?
He was on Prison Break
You can see the unholy lack of charisma dripping from his face.
Well at least Ali fucking looks like Claire in this one, shit she was bastardization of the character in 3. Best character in the series so far is still Jill Valentine.
If she makes a return this movie will have three action packed bitches worth watching.
Did they ever say what happened to Jill in RE3?
Probably a mention in part three but I don't remember. I hope she comes back, she was spot on. Even better if they deck her out in her S.T.A.R.S. uniform, maybe even use her RE5 'blond bitch' persona.
I liked the first 2. The third one had some interesting ideas but overall...bah.
The ending of it was awful. It did not leave me excited for the next one. |

http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets...biggerjill.jpg Sienna Guillory returns has 'blond bitch' Jill!!! I love you Paul!! You are closer to redemption! |
I had a feeling they would do that Kalyx, seeing as how they have Majini and the big masked dudes with the big hammers from RE5 in the movie. Maybe we will she Sheva Alomar after all now.
I just love Sienna as Jill, and Jill as a blond bitch. Color me excited.
Why is Pyramid Head in this movie?
He isn't.
The guy at 1:14 looks to be a "homage" to Pyramid Head.
Have you ever played RE5?
No, me and the wife are hermits in the world of video-games. We're still obsessively playing L4D and L4D2.
RE5 got good co-op? |
Yeah it's cool, has some tense moments but it's more action movie than horror. I recommend the recent update "RE5 Gold".
But yeah, that guy in the trailer was in RE5. |
We'll give it a try at your recommendation. Thanks!
Dunno what you guys thought, but I really enjoyed this. Things really picked up once they got to Arcadia. I really loved how much of RE5 was in this. Wesker's fight was pretty awesome to watch having just recently played RE5. The Executioner and Jill
Ya I loved it too.
Gonna watch this tonight. Big fan of the series so I'm looking forward to it.
The ending seemed a bit forced to continue the franchise but you will like it I bet.

Well, when you're alone with nobody by your side, things can get creepy pretty easily. In a game like L4D, I think the fact that you have 3 other people with you helps ease up the tension and takes away the horror.
I saw this in 3D. I paid to see Milla Jovovich kill a bunch of zombies and the brain matter to feel like it was splattering in my lap. I got what I paid for.
Did you regret missing out on naked Milla in 3D? I don't recall a naked Milla scene in this film.
soooooo, just watched this at home, and saw no blonde Jill.
Credits scene, as is all the rage these days.
Fucking serious? God damn it.
Yah. Was about to turn it off then that came on

Same chick from part two and all. Wonder if she'll be a rival thing for Alice.
The music is by far the best thing about the movie series, well after Milla Jovovich maybe.
