Best Wrestling Moment by Era
Going by these eras, what would you say is the biggest and best moment? Whether it be a match, promo or angle. Any promotion, post videos if you can.
The Golden Era - Pre-1984: The Hulkamania Era - 1984-1993: The New Generation - 1994-July 1996: The Attitude Era - August 1996-2001: The Ruthless Aggression Era - 2002-2004: The Next Generation - 2005-2007: The PG Era - 2008-Present: Just to note, the end of the New Generation and beginning of the Attitude Era is the nWo forming. That's why I specified the months. |

The Golden Era: WCCW changing wrestling with characters, valets, vignettes. Evolving wrestling into sports entertainment
The Hulkamania Era: Wrestlemania 3/Hulk Slamming Andre The New Generation: Hulk Hogan turning heel & joining the nWo The Attitude Era: The Explosion of Stone Cold Steve Austin/Austin vs. McMahon feud The Ruthless Aggression Era: The Rock vs. Hogan at Wrestlemania X-8 The Next Generation: The Explosion of the characters of Batista, John Cena, and most of all, Randy Orton The PG Era: Bret Hart returns to the WWE/ HBK vs. Taker @ Mania 25 |
the attitude era was by far the best.... the hulkamania era (aka kayfabe era)was what made wrestling what it is today... and the pg era is whats killing wwe right now.... the crowds don't even care no more, remember how into it the crowd was for the rock and austin, the crowd went nuts over wrestling...the titles dont mean shit no more, and the death of ecw and wcw ruined it a little bit... we need a new era and some new stars.
wwe has some big stars right now,(orton, cena, batista, triple h, taker, edge, dibiase, rhodes swagger, mcintyre, its the storylines and the lack of attention the midcard and lower titles are getting also... |

By that logic, you'd have to be a wrestler back then to be able to comment on it.
|
I want to see a wrestling match on the moon now.

But no what i mean is, we can watch all the clips in the world but we didnt live through it so we dont know what it was really like. If you watch highlights of a Soccer game, NFL game, NBA game etc. you cant give a full report on what went down as opposed to watching the game in its entirety. That good enough? Also who's the moron listing fucking Japanese shit, he's so cool cos he doesn't watch what everyone else does, i wanna be this guy so much. As if fujijuju vs shanoki cocki was better than Stone Cold, Rock, NWO. . . Fuck off |
You worded it wrong then. What you said wasn't "You'd have to be watching it live back then" but "you have to be on the moon".

'I DONT COMMENT ON ANYTHING I DIDNT SEE' :nono: |

Maybe the guy who listed all Japanese stuff lives in Japan, have you thought about that?
And you don't need to have lived through it to know when something is a big deal. I don't need to have been alive for the moon landing to know it was a pretty big thing. |

Trying to get what you're saying. If I HAD to guess, you're saying you needed to be around for that era, not just the match/event. |

Whatever era where USA chants started... The guy who started that chant should be in the hall of fame. Same goes for the first idiot to throw shit in the ring when Hulk broke his heart and joined those boys from up north. Nothing like going or seeing a WCW show and having to duck sodas, popcorns, and batteries from level 3.

the golden era(pre 1984) -wasn't born yet
Hulkamania Era(1984-1993) was 3 in 1993 The new generation(1993-1996)Shawn winning the title in a ironman match attitude era (1997 -2001)the end of the MNW ruthless aggression Era HBK returning and beniot and guerrueo winning world titles The Next Generation (2005-2007) undertaker wins two more world titles PG Era (2008-present) Hardy winning a world title andHBK retires |
The Golden Era - Pre-1984: Born in '83 and don't remember much from back then.
The Hulkamania Era - 1984-1993: A match made in heaven and a match made in heaven. This was something that the WWE now could look back at and learn from. It was phenomanil on how the characters carried this PPV created so much buzz. It was great. I remember watching as a kid and being astounded! It makes me miss how much characters back then actually meant something wheras in now-a-days, uhhhh, not so much. The New Generation - 1994-July 1996: Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 12. It was the first Iron Man Match and honestly it was so spectacular ot watch. It's a shame that these two guys couldn't get along back in the day because they could of had some pretty sweet matches together. The Attitude Era - August 1996-2001: Anything and everything Stone Cold Steve Austin. He was the face of that era. The Ruthless Aggression Era - 2002-2004: The rise of Brock Lesnar The Next Generation - 2005-2007: I didn't really watch wrestling during this time so I can't really judge on it. The PG Era - 2008-Present: That's hard. I mean it's not really over so who knows what's to come. I don't know. Maybe the ban of chair shots to the head. That takes away a lot for wrestlers. I mean in a sense it's good because it will help wrestlers be more creative when it comes to using a weapon but it takes away a lot as well. |
