Marvel vs Capcom 3 - ULTIMATE Rip-Off
Quote:
I think the most interesting thing is that it was "leaked" by whoever leaked the SSFIV roster. This looks like it could be true. SSFIV graphics, maybe? |
Is it me, or is this virtually identical to the talk of TVC 2?
Also, does it look more like he's talking crossovers with other media groups? I've seen this jumped on all over the net as MVC 3, but it's possible we're going to see Capcom v McDonalds or Capcom v TNA. |
The interview, not the "leak."
|
geeeee
|
I think people are starting to think it's most likely going to be MvC3 because it was said to be MvC3 by the same guy who told us the SSFIV roster before it was announced. He even told us about Juri and Hakan and what their characters and fighting style were before they got announced. Hakan was revealed about a year after he was listed in the guys leaked roster.
Capcom vs Someone-New would be interesting though. |
Capcom vs. Shounen Jump

On the other hand, the possibility of an updated MVC roster seems pretty cool. |
I also heard of an announcement coming in May of one Marve vs Capcom 3, but I didn't wanna post it here because it seemed too good to be true (I really do filter certain musings, CAUSE I LOVE YOU PEOPLE).
As Kane Knight suggests, a reveal of (a multiplatform?) TvC2 seems more likely, but it looks win-win from where I'm standing. |
An MvC that wasn't just Marvel Super Heroes and X-Men: CotA could be bad ass. Black Panther, Sentry, Iron Patriot and 34578934658907345890 more recent characters would make for a great game.
|
Announcement may be sooner than May.
|
• Confirmed characters so far are Wolverine, Spider-Man, The Hulk, Magneto, Storm and a few others will return.
• The Marvel vs. Capcom 3 development team said they will be blowing fans out of the water with the sheer number of characters this game includes on the disc. • This will be another 2D fighter — gameplay-wise — but will be something of a cross between the original Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Street Fighter 4. • The rumored release date is late 2010 or early 2011 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, no plans right now for other systems. • The game will run in 1080p resolution. • It will be a disc-based release. • Apparently the game will have unlockables again. • The game will be playable at this year's E3 which is held on June 15 - 17th. Also, please pos the source. Gonna post this on another forum.

|
Sounds cool. I'm surprised it's going to be playable so soon.
If the roster is going to blow fans out of the water, they must have a bigger roster than MvC2, so that would be over 56 characters. I'm hoping that leads to a whole hell of a lot of diversity online. |
I could see like 70-80 characters being in it.
|
As much as I liked SF4..I think the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom engine was superior and would fit the game more...even if it ever existed...which I highly doubt. One time I was hanging out with my friend talking about this game. He is a huge Christian and we always get into deep theological debates and I told him if they ever make MVC 3 I would suck it up and admit Christianity is the best religion ever.
|
Start admitting now, dude.
|
I will when I see it! I have had my dreams crushed too many times when it comes to MVC 3! :(
Will be interesting to see what characters come back..I mean, some of the characters in the original MVC 2 were very 90's characters. I mean, I don't think I have seen Marrow or Blackheart in a marvel comic in a long long time. I am guessing if the game gets made we will probably see some of the characters that have really exploded in popularity like Deadpool and Luke Cage. |
Deadpool is pretty much a given, I think.
Going to take a stab and guess that sentry will be the final boss, what with his uber form recently revealed. |
Sentry would be nice..I wouldn't mind seeing King Green Scar as a sub-boss or something tho.

Ladies and gentleman, Deadpool and Chris Redfield confirmed. |

I'll wait until it's actually official

If Moon Knight is in, I just may scream like a girl.
Also Shatterstar needs to be in. Like badly. |

The pants look casual so I'm thinking Dead Rising..?

I think the shape of his head and the collar match up, too. So it looks like it's Chuck.
If it is, I'm betting Frank is unlocked by beating the game with Chuck or something. |

Like The Punisher. How the fuck did he get left out? Also, I second Sentry as a boss. |
Ryota Niitsuma, the guy behind TvC is also involved. Win
|
Chris fucking Redfield Hot Damn!
|
X has to be in this
|
Deadpool = sold.
Anything from Phoenix Wright would just be an orgasmic bonus though. |
Shinkiro will be doing the art
|

Some details from Kotaku:
- The games full title is "Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds" - The title will likely feature more than 30 characters to choose from and feature 3-on-3 tag team fighting. - Hits the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in spring 2011. - There currently are no plans for an arcade, computer or Wii version of the title. - At least 100 pieces including remixes of favorites from previous Marvel Vs. Capcom games as well as some new music. - The trailer hints, according to Kotaku, that Captain America, Super Skrull, Chun-Li, Deadpool, Felicia, Dante or Nero, Spencer or Wesker, Mephisto, Rad Spencer and Doctor Doom are in. - The game will have a strong storyline. How many total characters are going to be in the game? Is that picture with the silhouettes all of them?
|
Nevermind. Just saw the 30 characters tidbit. Seemed like there were a bit more in 2
|
Pretty sure there was.
|
There were some glaring omissions from that game too, on both sides
|
Yeah but

I would imagine people would get pretty pissed if the numbers weren't at least close to MvC2. Especially since you choose three each time.
But then again in MvC2 lots of people played the same characters anyway. |
If the roster is 30 I wouldn't mind, balance the fucker out.
|
I was thinking it meant 30 to each side, equaling 60 in total.
|
How'd you figure that?
|
Well this was said
Quote:
Then it was said the roster would be 30 characters. Hardly a "blow us out of the water" number. So I thought maybe they meant 30 to each "side". It's higher than MvC2 and it would be impressive having a roster that big in a 3D/2D fighter. |
Orrrrr, we'll see the return of assist characters and there will be a bunch of them.
|
I would rather have the big numbers, as I will probably be button mashing this with my friends, and could care less about balance.

Ryu seems to have the Bayonetta-effect of head being too small compared to rest of his body.
|
Him and Wolverine's proportions are off on their models whole the others look fine, so I'm betting it won't be a final model.
|
Capcom will be having dev blogs on this game like they did for SSF4. Maybe this time I'll post each blog here?

HA!

MvC 2 was a hot mess...
|
It was insanely successful. This is a novelty game. People want to see Marvel and Capcom characters. Fuck balance
I also do not belong to the fighting game community so pardon me for not caring |
It's going to be an un-balanced clusterfuck.
I'd actually be miffed it wasn't. I've got other fighting games for balanced technical fights, this is an insane mess and that's the natural order of things. |
Until of course you're raped by a Magneto chain or Iron Man's infinite or assist traps or Sentinel's bitch-ass. Balance maintains fun, not antagonizes it. People need to get it right.
|
Yeah, playing with your friends is cool and all... but all it takes is one asshole friend to make you suddenly care about balance.
Oh, what's that? Cable's broke as hell? TIME TO PLAY ME SOME CABLE AMIRITE BOYS And sometimes this friend happens to be alot of your friends. After Tatsunoko vs Capcom was surprisingly balanced (the American version, anyhow) though, I've got pretty decent hopes for this. I don't think Capcom's going to go as sloppy as they used to. |
I have a strong feeling that it will not live up to the hype. "/
|
I can't wait to buy it only to get my ass raped online.

Okay yeah I'm basically kinda tired of SRK right now. Jackasses seem to have put me and few others in Capcom's place and are venting their disapproval of SF4, TvC, and MvC3(!) to us. They keep trying to argue for broken elements Capcom itself are shutting down, but apparently we're still the fringe, erroneous few poisoning the forum. It's hilarious, but only for a little while... then it becomes annoying. It is exactly like hearing a creationist debate against logic and reason.
But anyway, some personal speculation on MvC3 so this post isn't a total waste: - Now that the game is rendered in 3D I wonder what kind of effects we'll see for super moves. TvC and SF4 had cinematic finishers, it's safe to expect this presentation to return. Only better looking than TvC and crazier than SF4. - Capcom mentioned easier move execution. While I still expect the traditional motion+button method, there's a good chance we'll see an evolution of Capcom's Easy-Auto setting (that they've been using in a few games). I think we'll see two main control settings, one for traditionals and one for casuals. The casuals may have something similar to CvS2's infamous EO control, but perhaps more similar to Blazblue's Drive button, where some manner of execution of still expected. Special and super moves may be nerfed in some form on this casual setting. - Since there's a story for all this craziness I assume cutscenes and ending scenes will return. If Capcom is willing to drop dollar, these scenes could be real time cutscenes with the characters portrayed by their legacy actors. Capcom's SF and DMC VAs should be easy enough to commission, but I wonder if Marvel's side will feature returning stars from previous work. Steven Blum as Logan? Almost certain. I wonder if VAs from other Marvel games can do work for their characters appearing in this game. It would be cool. - We have yet to see Capcom actually add content that wasn't on disc, so it would be interesting to see if Capcom would truly add characters in the true definition of downloadable content. Sadly, unlocking characters already in your seems like something Capcom would do (they sold unlock keys for SF4 costumes and RE5 multiplayer before). I'd love to be proved wrong, though. Um... that's all? |
MvC2 had 52 characters or so. So Drakul's 60 would be cool. Also, hopefully the easier execution is more like BlazBlue's and less like CvSnk2. BlazBlue gave you 4 moves on the right stick, some of which (depending on the character) were hard to pull off due to input or positioning requirement (eg Bang's SRK input throw). CvSNK2 was ridiculous in that every move was mapped to the right stick and some people had 4507895467 moves.
Also Cable jobs to Roll. No bullshit fierce punch blaster shot over and over for her. No sir. |

As long as it plays more like TvC than SFIV, I probably won't have anything to bitch about. TvC was almost a perfect fighting game for me, aside from Zero being boring to fight.
|
Pretty much a given it'll play the usual Vs style, but I'd love to get more details. can't wait for gameplay at E3.
|
Can't wait for them to announce more characters. They're gonna drive me fucking nuts waiting.
|
The character trailers for this game will cause shit storms, I can already see it.
|
I'm already grumpy that they picked Chris over Leon or Jill, but I'll get over it. I understand why they rolled with Chris, I just don't like it.
But I am fully expecting fanboy rage to escalate when more similar situations arrive--ASKD;JFAJ;WHY DID THEY PICK THAT MEGAMAN INSTEAD OF MY FAVORITE MEGAMAN WTF CAPCOM'S WORST MISTAKE EVER. HOW DARE THEY AND SHIT, I AM ENTITLED TO HAVE MY EVERY DORKY WHIM CATERED TO etc etc. |
I can't find it now, but I used to have a GameFAQs screenshot of somebody claiming that Monster Hunter going to the Wii was Capcom's "worst mistake ever." It stuck with me as one of the funniest fucking reactions to something really small ever. Like, they were talking about Capcom going bankrupt and losing all their fans and shit over it. I was like, "Seriously? I didn't even know Capcom made Monster Hunter to begin with."
But yeah. I'm expecting alot of that. |
That guy must really like his Monster Hunter. His cheap-ass better get a Wii.

- One button launcher.
- Exchange button added. - 'Reverse' launcher aerial attack send opponents to the ground to continue combos. - TvC's air tagging returns. - TvC's control scheme will be meshed with MvC2 gameplay.
