i have been saying this for ages now, and finally my wish for a hardcore division has come true

I wouldn't mind if they added a Hardcore Championship. But, it took them forever to get a 2nd tier title that lets anyone win it (unlike the X-title), and now they're gonna get rid of it already? wtf

Really wish they'd go for a proper alternative instead of trying to make an outdated era work in a totally different era. TNA needs to stop going for old fans who left (which is what they're doing with moves like this) and start going for newer fans who want something new AND alternative.

Really all this does is book an entire division around overbooking. And you don't need that when everything else is overbooked.

Now WWE really has something to worry about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but with a hardcore division you have all the bases covered

the main 'heavyweight' singles division
the tag team division
the junior/cruiser weight division
the hardcore division
the womens division

that's all aspects of wrestling there, something for everybody

I read about this a week ago.

It will be okay short-term, but it really won't do much in the long run in my opinion.

Going purely by roster pages (so it includes some announcers, etc):

RAW Roster - 39
SD Roster - 36
WWE Roster - 75

TNA Roster - 65

If you take out the announcers and managers WWE may actually have LESS active wrestlers than TNA on their two main brands.

Orlando Jordan will win the Global Title and change it into the Hardcore Title.

The only problem I see with the current "Global" championship is that, IIRC (I usually forget to watch TNA), isn't it never defended in USA? Makes it next to useless when they almost never tour.

Yeah, Eric Young had the whole "Will never defend it on American soil or against an American wrestler" thing.

It was quietly dropped when he lost it to Terry.

That concept could be cool, if they dropped the not on American Soil bit and brought in talent from around the world to showcase them in this division. Kind of like the World X Cup, but all the time.
