Orton Injured? (May contain PPV spoilers)

From PWInsider:

The early word on Randy Orton's injury making the rounds is that he suffered a dislocated shoulder. We are waiting on further word. There were a swarm of trainers checking him out backstage immediately after the Edge bout.

Splaya 05-23-2010 11:19 PM

Ok so how long we looking at?

Splaya 05-23-2010 11:21 PM

8-12 weeks looks to be the max :(

Volare 05-23-2010 11:21 PM

Man, I thought Edge vs Orton would've been MOTN....instead it goes to Dynasty vs Jiz....MAN THIS SUCKS!

tjmidnight420 05-23-2010 11:22 PM

This sucks for Orton. I've really been enjoying him as of late.

KYR 05-23-2010 11:23 PM

I take it a 'swarm of trainers' is better than one doctor?

Rammsteinmad 05-23-2010 11:25 PM

In all fairness he was hitting that ring way hard come on! Sometimes he should calm down a bit.

DarKCentaur 05-23-2010 11:59 PM

It'll get blamed on Kennedy

Xero 05-24-2010 12:00 AM

From WWE's Twitter:

Randy Orton suffered separated right shoulder at Over The Limit. Full extent of injury is still in question.

Xero 05-24-2010 12:01 AM

And while we're at it, from Kennedy's Twitter:

secondpower I have one thing to say: Kharma is a MOTHERFUCKER!!

secondpower And it couldn't have happened... To a NICER GUY!!

Xero 05-24-2010 12:07 AM

Will likely be down REALLY fast, but for now, here it is. Starts around 0:35.

jskinnyg 05-24-2010 12:13 AM

Yeah that def looks like a dislocation... Hopefully he won't be gone too long...

Xero 05-24-2010 12:15 AM

You can hear the ref say "he's hurt" to Edge.

Yup, kudos to Edge for doing the spear into the ringside barricade prompting a believable double count-out. One can say all they want that Edge should have won and used the push, but I am pretty sure Orton was supposed to win in that spot and making him lose would have only made Kennedy happier

Shadrick 05-24-2010 12:19 AM

I was watching and said "He's either selling it really well as a part of a storyline" or "fuck, Orton is gonna be out for some weeks"

Fox 05-24-2010 12:19 AM

Injured from punching the mat. That's a good one; right up there with Kevin Nash getting injured by tagging in.

So f'in true...

Kennedy would be laughin' somewhere, but then he looked at his pay stub from his first TNA paycheck and proceeded to give himself the Mic Check...

Mic CHECK!!!

And right along side Vince sliding into the ring, tearing both his quads.

MrMyc 05-24-2010 12:26 AM

What's up with Orton not wearing wristbands anymore. Last raw and the ppv. It's not a huge deal but it really stands out and looks odd to me

Maybe that's why his arm was injured. It was no longer protected.

Doesn't Cena get his power from his armbands?

Bad Company 05-24-2010 12:57 AM

Jesus Christ, I know he was injured, but fuck that was sloppy. Fucking horrible to watch.

YoungFlyFlashy 05-24-2010 01:09 AM

Man that sucks. It sucks worse due to how it came about. What a waste.

Xero 05-24-2010 01:37 AM

From PWInsider:

Randy Orton's shoulder separation appears to have taken place during the neck snap during his comeback against Edge. Orton punching the mat furthered the injury.

He does. This is true.

Kane Knight 05-24-2010 03:42 AM

When he returns, will the bandwagon still be here?

I've always felt this way with wrestlers. Cody Rhodes looks naked without knee pads, and Orton shoulda worn either wristbands or elbow pads, otherwise they seem kinda naked to me.

C'mon, KK. This is TPWW. There will ALWAYS be an Orton bandwagon.

I dunno, TPWW bailed on him for a decent amount of time.

Mr. Nerfect 05-24-2010 05:07 AM

Yeah, to be honest, this de-railing of his momentum has lost me a bit of interest in Orton. It's sad, but he's just the kind if performer I don't miss.

Juan 05-24-2010 05:13 AM

Orton has been one of the few highlights of Raw. Dunno why you wouldn't miss one of the guys that makes such a sketchy show like Raw, at least watchable at times.

Mr. Nerfect 05-24-2010 05:32 AM

Probably because I don't watch RAW, because of that very reason. SmackDown! is a good show top-to-bottom. That RAW needs to be saved at all is sad. Also, while Orton can be fantastic when he gets on a role -- like he is now -- he bores me tremendously when he is not.

Cuse8 05-24-2010 09:49 AM

Orton is one of the main reasons I watch Raw. Without him and with batista taking time off and HHH still on the shelf raw is hurting right now. Are we in store for a sheamus/cena fued again? yay....

fwiw i think the orton bandwagon will be even bigger when he returns

TheAdamEvansFan 05-24-2010 09:54 AM

I have nothing to say at this time.

I think we can blame that on the Cena/Orton feud that lasted for-fucking-ever!

MrMyc 05-24-2010 10:16 AM

Since his current push keeps getting compared to Austin, they could just keep him on the air, randomly interrupting and attacking wrestl i mean "entertainers". That kept Austin pretty hot before his first world title push. Guest hosts are perfect for this. They could actually serve an useful purpose.

TheAdamEvansFan 05-24-2010 10:21 AM

Or they need to give a better storyline for Orton being off the air like when Austin got ran over by that car.

If he just gets injured, the fans won't be as thrilled when he returns.

They need Edge to do something big to Orton tonight on RAW.

Afterlife 05-24-2010 10:34 AM

How long until Orton is officially "injury prone"?

TheAdamEvansFan 05-24-2010 10:37 AM

Never, he has a decent last name.

I don't think Ken Anderson is Arn Andersons son.

Razzamajazz 05-24-2010 10:48 AM

everyone named anderson is related somehow

Volare 05-24-2010 10:59 AM

C.W. Anderson?

Noid only likes wrestlers the IWC doesn't care for! :)

DancesWithGingers 05-24-2010 02:20 PM

Maybe this guy had it right....

ClockShot 05-24-2010 03:12 PM

Well, the Orton fanbase is on life support right now. Hopefully this isn't too big of an injury and he'll be back in the ring in no time.

However, as some may said, this kick ass tweener angle he got going has been great to watch. If he's gone for a long period of time, will creative and the fanbase forget about it and start all over?

Razzamajazz 05-24-2010 03:13 PM

speaking of spoilers, fucking ryan clark just had to ruin the celebrity apprentice winner for me. asshole

Razzamajazz 05-24-2010 03:14 PM

i don't think ill go to the main page anymore

Xero 05-24-2010 03:17 PM

Why would you go to the main page in the first place, outside of the super awesome articles we have?

Razzamajazz 05-24-2010 03:18 PM

i have it bookmarked, now i'm changing it to the /forums instead :)

Xero 05-24-2010 03:21 PM

Good job.

Splaya 05-24-2010 03:51 PM

Reading the WWE.com article about last night of the match between the two puts an interesting spin on it

Mr. Nerfect 05-24-2010 05:11 PM

I would mark out for Sheamus furthering the injury of Orton on RAW. I think it'd suit his current character.

Thanks to smark hypocrisy, only when the IWC is bored with him.

The Show Off 05-24-2010 05:44 PM

So is this all Randy's way of taking his father's gimmick? Will we see Orton on Raw tonight wearing a cast that he'll continue to wear until he retires?

yeah i was thinking that he needs someone like piper to be with though.

TheAdamEvansFan 05-24-2010 07:56 PM

Edge needs to put Orton on the shelf storyline wise TONIGHT right? If Sheamus does it, won't it look OFF as hell? I mean, does Sheamus have a reason to be pissed? Who is he facing these days anyways lol

Xero 05-24-2010 07:57 PM

Cena.

TheAdamEvansFan 05-24-2010 08:06 PM

He is? Thought Cena was facing Batista!?! F.u.c.k I'm confused. lol

Fox 05-25-2010 07:29 AM

My opinion is that the WWE needs to take advantage of this situation as best they can. Orton's character is this egotistical, self absorbed, vicious bastard. This injury should only enrage him further.

Have him run rampant on RAW while his arm is in a sling. He can still punt kick people with a messed up shoulder. I'd have him just go crazy and start attacking the guest hosts every week. One of them finally asks him what it is that he WANTS, why is he attacking all the guest hosts when none of them did him wrong? Instead of giving an answer, he beats that guest host into oblivion, sending them out on a stretcher, the point being that he's just doing it to do it, there's no real reason.

Build him up as this crazy, angry, vicious loose cannon, and when he finally returns, he'll be more over than ever.

(EDIT: Didn't watch RAW last night, obviously; didn't know Hart was the new GM. Probably wouldn't work with Orton attacking Bret every week. Maybe he can just stalk random wrestlers and beat them up after their matches, and then Bret asks him why he's doing it and Orton loses it on him, too.)

Xero 05-25-2010 07:37 AM

Orton's already in the Fatal Fourway match. He's not even in a sling, which is odd. Obviously his arm is no where near as bad as originally thought.
