There has been speculation surrounding who could be a bigger draw than Bret Hart as GM.

If we look over the past 6 months, we can make a few notable choices.. I'll put up a few...

My guesses would probably be HHH, Shawn Michaels, and The Rock, in that order. Probably not though. I only saw half of Raw tonight and I'm not really sure what the story is with this

It is blatently going to be HHH, Sheamus put him out, During Fatal4Way match commentary team say 'We may never see Triple H again' new mysterious GM sends email saying that Sheamus must defend new title right away.

I wish it was The Rock though, him or either one of the Bushwackers.

My guess would be Cole as he is the one that "receives" these mysterious e-mails.

Rumours are actually saying that it might be him. I always thought that Mike Adamle should be a heel manager or something.

Right now, the GM angle seems like a perfect way to book without having an actual character there slided towards the face or heel side too much. They don't really have a performer ready, so this is just a "plot device" (if you will) that allows there to be authority when they don't really have anyone in mind. To speculate for fun, though:

* Triple H would make sense. He's Vince McMahon's son-in-law (even in kayfabe this is referenced). When the GM does reveal himself, Triple H can come out, get the massive pop, and make his last act as General Manager to book himself into a match against Sheamus. We haven't heard anything, and the WWE has always clung to Trips, but if he wanted a relaxed schedule, Triple H could actually play the GM role even after returning, and only compete sporadically.

* Shawn Michaels isn't too much of a stretch down the line. He's happy with retirement, but I find it hard to believe we'll never hear "Sexy Boy" again. He'll do some appearances with the WWE, and this sort of angle allows him to show up when he feels like it, but it gives him that presence of authority.

* It won't be The Rock. I'd mark out if he showed up and got the living shit kicked out of him by the NXT guys, though. Man, would that be a hot segment.

* The last time Vickie Guerrero was General Manager, she was threatened by Randy Orton. As she seems to be someone WWE management favours (in kayfabe), with Bret Hart gone, it would be the first port of call to contact Vickie Guerrero about taking the position again. The Orton incident might be why she prefers to remain anonymous. Until her stuff is played out on SmackDown!, having her do two roles and switching between unbiased GM on RAW and heel on SmackDown! is a bit much.

* I'd be lying if I didn't admit Daniel Bryan crossed my mind. I don't know why they would give him the GM position, but it'd be a way to bring him back.

* The smark in me hopes that it is Paul Heyman, and that the reason he prefers to be anonymous is because he is ashamed of the WWE product.

* If all else fails, I don't see why they don't bring Abraham Washington back as General Manager.

Ya, I read reports on The Wrestling Observer about Adamle but its still nothing more than a rumour. I must admit initially I was thinking the whole laptop email thing was TNA-dumb, but I am going to be patient with this. They have something going on here, and if The Nexus is the NXT 7 then The Network might be revealed as well to be something else (unless its for the WWE Cable Network planned)

Anyway, my official guess is Triple H. They probably want to get him back on screen soon even though he can't actually wrestle for a good amount of time.

That being said - my absolute dream scenario would be Bryan Danielson. Over on SmackDown, I'd have Drew lose his "Chosen One" gimmick now that Vince is out of commission (and to avoid repetition across the brands). The "Chosen One" gimmick can then make its way over to Raw as the mystery GM seemingly favors the Nexus. He hired them, it can be implied that he was in charge of Vince being taken out, etc.

There are so many things they could do with that, it could honestly last several months. By the time September rolls around, you have Wade Barrett as the WWE Champion (winning the belt at SummerSlam) and maybe the group has the US title as well. All the while, Danielson shoots on WWE during his indy shows and whatnot and how poorly he was treated, etc. - ultimately it ends with Danielson re-emerging in WWE and revealing himself as the GM.

There are plenty of ways to explain the whole thing. Bryan left Nexus because "he felt remorse" but it was really just a ploy to convince Vince that he's trustworthy enough to be the GM and that he would run Raw the way Vince wanted it run, unlike Bret. Vince gets in on Nexus' plan with the first few attacks, but then when he was attacked last night, that was Bryan's way of eliminating him so Nexus can do their own thing and expose WWE. Vince's write-off on television would be a TOTAL write-off, to the point where they pretend as though WWE no longer even has a Chairman.

And since Bryan would be shooting this entire time before the reveal, it'll just add fuel to him being the culprit this entire time. Nexus had this plan before NXT even started.</font>

If the Taker storyline is any indication I can't help but think that it's gonna be Micheal "Vintage" Cole that whole idea of him being the messenger in all of this would make him the least suspicious.

It would explain the attack on Vince at the end of RAW, as Vince always loves to put his family in the forefront of the company's top angles (Austin vs. McMahon, Rock vs. McMahon-Helmsley Faction, WrestleMania 2000 main event, InVasion angle, Vince vs. Steph, Vince vs. Shane, etc, etc). In kayfabe, Stephanie wants to take over the WWE forever and sees the NXT guys and herself as the future of the company.

Easy.

I would mark out if it was Noid, Xero, or Damn. Mind you, I wouldn't know what they'd look like TO mark out, but if Cole was like "KING OH MY GOD, IS THAT...IS THAT NOID?" I'd prolly jizz like James Steele waiting for a load of HHH's baby batter.

I can't see it being Jim Ross. He's just too much of a...passive personality. What business does JR have running RAW? Also, the WWE felt he was too ugly for commentary. To really give him the constantly visible role of General Manager is a bit much. I think the best we can hope for is JR to make a return to the commentary desk for an episode of RAW if Stone Cold Steve Austin Guest Hosts and gives Cole a Stunner.

After watching NXT, I got the vibe it was either Bryan Danielson or Michael Cole. I do feel that Cole would be a let-down, even though he is somewhat interesting as a heel.

As much as I want it to be Danielson, I just can't see it. 3 months feels like a long time to drag out the "mystery GM" schtick...but if they do and keep it interesting, more power to them. If it turns out that Danielson was sending e-mails to Cole, that'd be funny.

We'll probably have a much better idea of who it is on Monday when the NXT guys are "punished". If it's a legit punishment, then the GM could be a face or tweener. But I'm still inclined to think it's a heel mastermind. He hired the NXT guys and booked the Cena/Sheamus/Vince match with the intent of having all 3 guys get their asses kicked (with Sheamus being the lone guy to escape).</font>

I think that while the GM is anonymous, they will appear to be fair, but ruthless. The WWE's ideal unbiased General Manager, who will appear to throw anyone into a match if it's something the fans want to see. But I do agree that there will be some masterplan behind it, and when it comes time to reveal the GM, they will turn out to be a heel before long.

Just because the Nexus guys got hired doesn't mean it will be a heel GM. Maybe the mystery GM decided to award them contracts so that they would no longer attack his superstars during the show. That and he'll be able to punish them by booking them in matches.
