Great work ABT! I'm definitely happy with my pick-ups and it looks like a lot of guys have some extremely strong rosters. Not going to get specific here.
:D |
I'd fully be a fan of DWW. :y:
|
FREE AGENTS (These workers are up for grabs to any of the companies. If you aree an interested booker, PM me the name(s) of the worker(s) you want to add to your company, and I'll assign them to your company. They will not count against your roster number, but you can only add up to three per week of competition. Once a free agent is acquired, you MUST use him on the next show, or he will return to the free agent pool)

SCW could rock my socks..... Untitled looks as though it would do the complete opposite
|
<font color=goldenrod>Really happy with my roster. There is one guy I figured I'd get easily and I had some plans for him, but someone else must have had either the same plans or have him higher on their board.
Still, quite thrilled with my roster. Got several ideas already.</font> |
Yeah, I think SCW and DWW look the best on paper. Loads of potential feuds/great matches there.
|
All look interesting. I wonder how each roster will use their workers.
|
We've already had some movement in the free agent pool!
Matt Striker, Taz, and Justin Roberts are now property of Superb Championship Wrestling! |
SCW has no ladies while DWW has taken a great gamble here with no former world champions (Except Mysterio). I was really impressed with the list and then I happened to read Rob Terry
Good luck everybody! |
Lock Jaw weighs in with his two-cents:
jWo (working title): A healthy mix of current main eventers, and jam-packed with potential up-and-comers (AKA, NXT people). Desmond Wolfe and The Pope are welcome additions to this "WWE-heavy" roster and should have plenty to keep them busy. Biggest Challenge: Getting these NXT guys "over". Also using John Cena in a way that will interest TPWW, hopefully without resorting to "turn him heel". This Is Wrestling (TIW): This fed seems to have a lot of "big men", which could lead to some interesting matches! Samoa Joe vs Undertaker? Sheamus vs Hernandez? Zeke vs Nash? Sign me up. There are plenty of other names in the mix to keep up the interest as well. Beer Money is great as a team, or as singles wrestlers. Christian and AJ Styles once again together. Biggest Challenge: Ironically enough, what interests me in it, is also their biggest challenge. In a roster filled with big men, you need to occupy them all, while not having them absolutely bury your smaller talent all the time. Untitled: Another solid roster with main eventers, a mid card, low card, and even some tag teams. Sting potentially sees action against some of the biggest current WWE stars in Triple H and Randy Orton. Potential Goldust/Cody Rhodes angle. Pretty solid mid-card as well with names like Kaval, Jay Lethal, Eric Young etc. Biggest challenge: The Great Khali, what to do with him? Superb Championship Wrestling (SCW): Honestly, a pretty superb roster here. A great mix of TNA/WWE/NXT and different attractions. Fantastic possibilities. Angle vs Swagger, Punk/Jeff Hardy reunion, Hardy Boyz reunion #412 vs Young Bucks, Kane vs Abyss in a convoluted story. This roster seems like it will lend itself great to tag teams. Hardy Boyz, Hawkins & Archer, Young Bucks, instead of feuding maybe Angle and Swagger team, and maybe Kane and Abyss team. Tag teams galore. Doug Williams and William Regal team up because they are British? Lots of different ways to go with this roster and lots of possibilities. Biggest Challenge: With so many possible routes, they need to pick the absolute best one and stick to it. Dead Wrong Wrestling (DWW): This roster will probably have the toughest time out of anybody. The only solidified main eventer they have is Rey Mysterio. Other than that, they do have some pretty solid talent to work with. I foresee this fed being the "most different" of them all. Biggest Challenge: Is obviously getting some of these mid-card names over as credible main-eventers. Miz, John Morrison, Kofi Kingston, and potentially MVP are probably the front-runners for this task. I'm actually looking forward to this one just to see how they try and pull it off. |
I did my draft based on ideas that were coming to me. There are a couple guys I wish I got, but I'm pretty happy with what I have.
I plan to make magic happen. |
Free agents Raven and Homicide have just found a home in Dead Wrong Wrestling!
|
<font color=goldenrod>I got the Top 2 names on my priority list, and 6 out of my Top 10.</font>
|
Can we use anyone we want as on-air authority figures?

This Is Wrestling has just acquired Josh Matthews, Todd Grisham, and Tony Chimel from the free agent pool!

DWW and jwo
|
So when do the shows start again?
|
TIW and SCW are looking REALLY strong on paper. I`d post my full thoughts but the`ve been summed up by lockjaw already for the most part.
|
I forgot that we were keeping shit confidential and I almost posted shit that would have revealed me in this thread
|
Bad Jeritron! BAD!
|
I pretty much know who 3 of the 5 feds belong to based on the picks, but I'll keep it all on the dl.
|
Damn, SCW has one helluva roster...can't wait to see their feuds/how they manage the undercard...
|
Looking forward to this actually, some really good rosters. I'm leaning towards TIW (Taker vs Joe, book that shit!), SCW and DWW. JWO has potential but untitled will have to work hard to get my interest.
Not that it really matters what i think. |
SCW and TIW look pretty strong and balanced. DWW also has a few of my favourite guys so I'm interested to see how they are booked.
Why has nobody snapped up Don West to work the <s>announce</s> gimmick table yet? |
Man, I didn't think you'd make the rosters public. There goes any idea that involved a surprise appearance.

I'm almost done with my first show, lol. Bless you OCD!

<font color=goldenrod>I'll start writing my show tomorrow. Just not too sure how in-depth to go with it. I'm not the best at writing promos and I certainly can't write matches word-for-word, but I can certainly do enough to give the reader a gist of what happened and how everything played out.
Kinda like the write-ups I had done for my EWR game until I got lazy and started doing hella quick results.</font> :shifty: |
Is there some kind of format we're expected to follow. There should be some kind of template or constraints so that we're all working within the same parameters.
I don't know what I'm expected to include and what not. I also don't want to underdo it, or overdo it. |
Untitled better not fuck this up.

I was thinking about maybe posting a sample show that I write for the hell of it. Would that be helpful? |
I've participated in one of these games before.
Would you like to see a sample of a show I've written in the past, to show the formats that we worked to? |
sure
|
A lot is being made of having "amazing in-ring wrestlers" but this game is about booking the angles.
Would you really give top marks to: *Chris Sabin and Evan Bourne have a 5 star match*? And what what if someone books *The Great Khali and Mark Henry in a 5 star masterpiece*? NOTE: I am not trying to take away from whoever is booking DWW, I'm sure they will come up with interesting angles to make the matches worth a damn. I just don't get the advantage of having "good workers"...unless people are gonna vote for the show with their favourite wrestler on, of course. Which isn't really the idea. |
http://altfeds.freeforums.org/
Thats the game me and a few mates participated in. It unfortuntaly stopped due to illness of the admin, but, gives you an idea of how we formatted shows and stuff. I've done a few similar games on other forums which are now down. |
Well with good in-ring wrestlers, you can book things liike Iron Man matches or submissions matches. I'd also like the times of each segment to be included, so I'd be more inclined to rank Chris Sabin and Evan Bourne for fifteen minutes highter than The Great Khali and Mark Henry....unless you describe enough interesting things going on in the match.
Anyway, that's all pretty subjective. Here's a sample that Paul Heyman (thanks) has provided me with from a similar game: http://altfeds.freeforums.org/wcw-ni...nings-t16.html Now, that show goes into EXTREME detail, which is nice, but I don't think it's NECESSARY. Basically I want the bookers to write as much as they think they need to write to get their points across. I do like the touch of using the announcers at the beginning to set up the show and remind people of ongoing storylines, but again, that's not completely necessary. I also fear that something like that may the the "tl:dr" treatment from the public poll, but I trust at least the judges would get through it. I'll try to find some alternatives to show you as well. |
The untitled company has now officially been named VINTAGE Championship Wrestling!
|
Now you have a name...
|
ABT, I'd like to sign up for season 2 please.
|
jWo and SCW are the ones, just going by names, that interest me the most...
|
I like mine the most. :shifty:
|
SCW is where it's at.
|
Done. It's on the rest of you bookers to send your shows in now.

For who ever runs the SCW fed, was bored today and designed a logo for your promotion.

Do one for Untitled.
|
THERE IS NO UNTITLED ANYMORE
|
Looks like SCW have this half way in the bag and we haven't even started! lol

More Logos to come...

All excellent.

Why is DWW's the best?

The working title has been worked out as jWo officially becomes Lethal Action Wrestling!

Perfect logo.

L.A.W. logo looking pretty Vintage.
|
Man, all the logos are looking pretty sweet.
Does Haze FX have anything to do with Armchair Warfare outside of making these logos? Is he a judge? |

Well props to you then.

I will credit him as 'GRAPHIC DESIGNER' in the end of the season credits. That's also where I'll reveal what poster ran what company.
|
Will you do them like this...
<MARQUEE direction=up> Concept by Anybody Thrilla DDW...??? VCW...??? TIW...??? etc |
I bet he will.
What is the code for that? |
Quoting his post reveals the code.

We can't pick new Free Agents til after show 1 is posted anyway, can we?
|
Right.

I don't want to ruin any potential surprises. Just PM me if you want a free agent and I'll let you know if he's available.
|
Are we gonna come up with a "fair" way of doing the 2nd round of FA picks?
|
Are you implying that this way is 'unfair'?
|
I'm definitely open to suggestions.
|
Well, there were already 6 guys (at least) taken before I even saw the thread. I just figured the US/Uk time difference might leave me at a disadvantage.
|
Howabout the top rated show gets first pick? Or do it NFL style and let the lowest rated show go first to help boost their show?
|
Quote:
|
I think I like the lowest rated show idea. Sorry you kinda got shafted, but as I've stated numerous times, this is the inaugural season. There are definitely some bugs to work out. I like to just learn on the fly rather than stall this whole process thinking about every single thing that could sorta screw another company. This will be noted for future seasons, though. :y:
|
It's cool, I got some useful guys.
I actually meant for week 2 rather than season 2. We get to pick again after Show 1 is posted. I'd say let the lowest rated show pick first. But I guess that depends on how long we leave voting open for!? |
Probably from deadline to deadline, and I'll post the previous week's results with the next round of shows. Maybe? Hold on, let me think about that...
|
Or just base it on the reverse order that the original rosters were drafted? I think someone else suggested that a while back.
|
<font color=goldenrod>Yeah, I really don't mind what we do with the free agents. I need to sign like 2 free agents for the purposes of a match in my 2nd show. I'm really not picky about who they are as long as it's two male wrestlers. I'd more than likely just drop them after that week's show or relegate them to job duty, anyway.</font>
|
Do the rosters/feds get re-picked for season 2? Sorry if this has been asked already.
|
I was thinking new companies for each season.
