I do like sports, I'm not stupid, and baseball hasn't been popular in years, in fact it's about to be surpassed by the NBA in terms of popularity. The pecentage of fans are decreasing every year. The All-Star game didn't sell out for the first time in forever. And if the Yankees or Red Sox aren't in the world series than it can barely get any ratings.

Baseball is dying, and young people today don't care, doesn't look good for baseball in 20 years.

I gotta say myself, while I love playing baseball its the most ungodly boring sport for me to watch.

Two, you claim the NBA is going to pass the MLB in terms of popularity soon and that people only watch the World Series if the Yankees or Red Sox are in it, yet why did the NBA get good ratings for their playoffs? Maybe because the Lakers and the Celtics were in the finals? Hmm, maybe. Let's get the Spurs and the Pistons playing each other and see how that does. Also don't worry about the NBA gaining too much momentum, because that lockout that's happening soon will kill it off quick. Just ask the NHL. Three, how many young people have you talked to about baseball?

For someone who hates the sport, you sure seem to pretend to know a lot about baseball.

LeBrons special did better in the ratings than the All Star Game, which was the lowest rating in years, and while the game may have been sold out, I read that there was quite a few empty seats.

I dont need to love or hate a sport to follow sports in general, and I don't need to follow it to read facts, and know that baseball is on the decline. Attendance is decreasing, and ratings are down. Those are facts, I dont need to be a Yankee or Sox fan to know that.

Ands I agree about baseball. Although playoffs come it is an interesting watch and I don't mind it. But regular season is UNBEARABLE. I feel like im wasting my life watching it for 3 hours..but that's just me. In person is a different story ..it's fun going to the stadium and getting a good buzz.

I'm not a baseball fan by any means, but I have never heard of people having bad experiences when going in person and I went to several HS games this year since I got a job at my old school's athletic department and loved it.

My biggest gripes with baseball are that the 1st half of the season really doesn't matter, and that it seems like 75% of the time the players don't give a shit what happens.
