I think The Miz is an easy choice, but who knows. For every Stone Cold and Kurt Angle, you also have a Ken Shamrock and Billy Gunn.
They chose to give King of the Ring to Shamrock in 98 when The Rock was in contention and on his way to the main event.
So for all we know, if they held it tomorrow it could end up going to someone Vince is high on but the crowd isn't. Probably McIntyre.

Maybe they could have "Bling of the Ring."

Ziggler or DiBiase would be good choices.

While my personal choice would be someone like John Morrison; I could really see them giving it to Drew McIntyre. Hell, Jack Swagger would make an amazing King of the Ring, even though he has already won the World Title. The same goes for Chris Jericho.

If it had been going all this time and hadn't disappeared, Hornswoggle would've won it at some point.

If they held the King of the Ring tomorrow night, I'd definitely give it to a guy like Jack Swagger or Chris Jericho. The KOR needs an established guy to win it, play up the concept, and make sure that it's not some undercard tournament. I really wish the WWE would bring it back as as a PPV next year. June can be King of the Ring, July can be Money in the Bank and August can be SummerSlam. I might be enticed to buy all three.

Sorry, but Jericho wouldn't need the KOTR. Drew is the only person it should be given to at this point having thought about it. Swagger wouldn't need it either just now....

I don't think it's a case of needing it. I think KOR needs Jericho more than he needs the tournament. He'd just add to that list of guys who have won it and been considered a legend (Bret Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H). He's going through a phase where he is putting guys over left right and centre, but he can do that with match quality alone.

If the tournament were still active, then I would agree that Drew McIntyre is the logical choice. Maybe even The Miz if they REALLY wanted to get him over as the next big guy.

I reckon Drew would give KOTR enough credibility and it would suit his gimmick perfectly as the chosen one, and getting more heat from the crowd.

Doesn't matter anyways, since MITB is basically KOTR now....

Evan Bourne on Raw & Cbavo Guerrero on Smackdown. Evan for te push & Chavo because he'd be like Regal was when he won it, someone with all the talent in the world that WWE isnt using right that could have a nice run promoting himself as KOTR.

I'd love to see Chavo Guerrero get a push, but it might be a bit watered down him winning the King of the Ring right now. I'd go with him and Dolph Ziggler being forced to team by Vickie Guerrero for a while (think how Stephanie McMahon forced Chris Benoit & Kurt Angle to team, except on a lower scale -- as the tag team scene seems to be these days). They have some great showings against The Hart Dynasty, and even win some non-title and six-man tags against them with partners. Then they lose a big title match, and Vickie chews out Chavo for letting the team down. Chavo is sick of being a bitch, and he asks for Vickie's microphone, and he is given it, but instead of saying anything, he nails Ziggler with it. Frog Splash, face turn.

From there, Chavo can work some good matches against Ziggler, and perhaps even get an Intercontinental Title run.

Cena and Cena. He would unify the otRs.

KOTR was one of my favorite PPV's growing up I hope they bring it back. Here we go:

SCHLOMEYS PICKS FOR KING OF THE RING 2010:

1. Evan Bourne - He is on the cusp and that is what KOTR is all about. He has proven he can get over with the crowd & he can hang with the best of the best.

2. Dolph Ziggler - Similar to Bourne except he hasn't been given the chance to shine just yet. He is frustrated & determined and with the KOTR rub he could possibly get over.

3. Wade Barrett - Just imagine. Wade Barrett entering the KOTR and winning...That would explode the Nexus storyline into uncharted territory. He has the snobbish mentality to pull off being king of wrestling better than any other heel I can think of.

They should get a sword instead of a crown.

It's not for Barrett right imo. Doesn't suit what he'd want with it. Being a snobby heel is commonplace, this NXT thing is new for some people and providing a good storyline.

I think Ziggler or Drew are good calls. Adds more to their heat if they can boast. I think Dolph could do with it more than Drew though.
