Wade Barrett is Tremendous on the mic
I'm being serious when I say this, but I can't believe how good this guy is on the mic. The guy is seriously carrying this Nexus angle and the group on his shoulders right now. I can't recall a rookie ever being this good on the microphone 3 months into being called up to the big leagues. And I mean Raw when I say Big leagues. He pretty much stole the entire show last night.
I mean I knew he was good when I watched him on NXT, but I didn't think he'd be this good. He can go toe to toe on the mic with anybody on that roster right now. His promo on Cena last night was incredible and he was making Cena look like a bitch for a few minutes. I loved it. He's owned The World Champion, Sheamus, Edge and Jerico. And others as well. I bet they are already planning on it, but I wouldn't be shocked to see him as thier heel champion for a long time. Wade Barrett gets a :y::y::y::y::y::y::y::y::y: |
I agree.:y::yes: Tarvers great also.
|
Wade Bah-utt
|
I really disagree on Tarver. He stumbled multile times last night and you could tell once he gave the mic back to Wade, things were different. Shit gets done when Wade's on the mic.
|
It's cos he's English.
|
I dunno, don't remember him messing up.
|
I don't either.
Guess we're judging that intensly now as fans.. |

Wade does have a great accent though.
|
he's pretty much the only guy in nexus that has much of a shot when all is said and done. the rest just seem like throwaways. it's obvious why he's the leader.
|
Tarver should just stand there with that rag on his face and look menacing.
Barret is money with a microphone. |

He's definitely got the Regal thing going.
|
I would like WWE to have a United Nations/ UK faction again once Nexus is done. Could you imagine Barrett and Regal together? Regal NEEDS a role and Barrett is so young and fresh. Could be a match made in heaven.

To be honest, lately all of the Nexus have grown on me. I know it won't happen, but when this stable finally falls apart (which I hope isn't anytime soon), I really want to see all of these guys still have a secure spot somewhere on the roster.

I totally agree here... This guy has far exceeded anything I would've ever hoped for the Nexus... he has carried these guys really well, and I think he'll be around for the long haul...
|
Wade Barrett is definitely the truth. His confidence and delivery are just off the charts.
|
Mostly newcomers have a growth period when entering the WWE. If Barrett grows even more they'll have to invent a new tier for him to compete in with just himself. Guest Starring Jericho and Miz :P

Wade Barrett is my favourite in all of WWE right now. His face, his voice, even his hair is just menacing. He just oozes with confidence and looks like he's been there for years. Fantastic.
|
|
There's no doubt he's great on the mic and it's because he doesn't go over the top and he is a good speaker plain and simple he kinda looks like a throwback wrestler if you ask me.
|
|
He reminds me of Clive Owen tbh. Not here however:

I think Michael Tarver is pretty awesome too and makes a good second in command
|
Wade is money on the mike, and he saved Lois Lane.

I think this ain't bad considering my limits in PS.
http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/11/wadescopy.jpg BTW, I refuse to pout that wigga belt on him. The only other person that actually goes with is Edge when he puts the R on it (like so). |

yes, he has a ton of confidence, which understandly, most new guys would lack in any new atmosphere. That's a tough spot to be in asking him to go out and talk trash to Cena or any vet and basically carry the top stable. |
He was solid last night, calm and confident. It's funny when you compare rookie's on the mic compared to Barrett. Better yet his NXT promo was probably the best to describe it.

Wade Barrett is the reason why I hope the mastermind behind the Nexus (if there is any) isn't an active wrestler.
The mastermind shouldn't be an active wrestler, because if it is, the Nexus will become just seven bodies to be thrown around by Cena or Orton or whatever face the leader is feuding with. Look at Rhodes and DiBiase whenever they were around Orton. It's a fundamental law of pro wrestling; becoming the lackey of a main eventer makes you only one Nth as effective as said main eventer, N being the number of lackeys he has at the present time. Although I like several of the other Nexus guys, I can deal with the other 6 eventually becoming Barrett's lackeys. Barrett should in no way, shape, or form become a lackey himself. Would be a huge waste of a guy who can definitely be a legit main eventer. |

nice jew fro  |
Barrett is awesome
|
It makes me proud that someone with the same accent as me is one of the hottest things in WWE right now.
|
You probably sound a lot more gay than Wade Barrett, though. No offense.

Barrett is already one of the top 10 guys in the company on the mic, easily, and everyone's right...his work is carrying this angle. I just hope to God that when he's given a nice 10-15 minute match he delivers, because we've seen very little of his in ring work.
That being said, I'm digging him hardcore. |
Barrett did get loads of experience in OVW (FCW) where he was doing commentry, I noticed an English guy doing to commentry on some youtube clips, only found out since NXT started that it was him, looks like he's setting himself up nicely for a longer term job in the WWE if needed. Easily the best talker since The Miz came on to the scene

In my mind, HHH will have a non-wrestling leadership role. Feuding with Vince over control of RAW - climaxing at WM with an 8v8 match (HHH and Nexus Vs. Vince and 7 guys). This is where Daniel Bryan _finally_ returns and Vince wins back RAW!
Oh and on topic - Barrett is still good on the mic |

that's the belt (if anyone remembers 5 years ago) that was used before the spinner belt
|
This guy could be a legend. Within a year I'd have him basically running RAW the way HHH used to in early 2000.
|
He has fantastic stage presence. He's got that kind of aura about him that demands your attention. Big fan.
Also, his nickname in OVW was The Pinnacle. They should probably work that into his character now. |
Barrett really is fucking good. If anyone out of Nexus ends up with a huge push, it should be him. He's quite enjoyable. Also, he seems to have lit a fire under a few main eventers to do better. I mean, how much must it suck to be outdone by an NXT rookie?
Except in Edge's case, because he can be outdone by a ham and cheese sammich. |

Come on, this thread needs more talking about Barrett! MORE!!!

I remember him saying at the live Raw in the UK that he'd be the first English WWE Champion, and he will be.
This makes me happy. |

Wade Barrett is awesome. He's quickly becoming one of my favourite wrestlers in WWE. He is so comfortable on the mic. I like mic workers that talk at a normal to fast pace and do it confidently, as opposed to the slow, droning promos we get from guys like Kennedy, Swagger and Orton. I find it hard to sit through those.
|
If all goes well, Barrett will be allowed to redo the title belt!
I've looked into the future and seen this new belt! SPOILER: show |
Barrett is pretty damn solid, thank god too, company needs fresh stuff. I don't like the whole Nexus, seems like a watered down nWo with a bunch of guys that suck and only one dude that stands out.

I concur with most of this, It is more than refreshing to have a new potential main guy around, this guy given time and the right feuds after this angle will be able to generate a lot of PPV Buys down the line. He's like Orton and Cena 7-8 years ago.
You can see it in him, bursting to come out. |
Great the guy can talk, he's better on the mic than the rest of them. He also almost killed Mark Henry on Monday.
|
Had he killed Mark Henry, he'd have done us a huuuuuuuuuge favor, sick of the sight of that bastard.

WHO ELSE IS GONNA SPLIT WIGS

Hooboy, am I gonna get flamed by fucktards who assume that because I understand his opinion, I must also share it. After all, what kind of witchcraft could lead to understanding someone's views if they are not your own? The whole Nexus angle reeks of nWo. I mean, it's a bunch of people who banded together to dominate the roster and take over <s>WCW</s> WWE. The "point" doesn't change that. Doesn't stop the similarities. In fact, the "point" seems to rely on a similar theme, albeit sans the actual "big" names (Which was part of his complaint). Now, old ideas aren't inherently bad. This one is, in my estimation, working pretty well. But if you don't enjoy it, then it's basically a watered-down nWo. If anything, I wouldn't have brought out "Team Cena" any time soon, keep the Nexus on top, and give a few of the "pros" minor victories. That's about he only thing I think WWE is fucking up right now in the angle. I stress this only because half this board is very insistent on pretending I'm for things I'm not and against things I'm not. I figured if I say it three times over three paragraphs, it might sink in. I. Like. Nexus. But you don't have to "miss the point" to criticise it for its similarities to nWo. Also, Vince cultivated a promotion in which guys like these don't get ahead. It's not hard to buy that a lot of fans would respond to that. Hosses dominate, rookies are generally jobbers, and unless Vince makes you, you don't go anywhere. none of these are iron clad, but they're sturdy enough that people will buy them. But more importantly, they're the rules for which we suspend disbelief. It's the same shit that lets people believe that an armbar is just an armbar, but an armbar with a special name done by a specific guy will make any opponent tap (except Cena). |
I’ve been impressed with him since that Winds of Change promo he did on the fly during NXT1. He’s not the best in the ring, but with some more experience he’ll get better. I can definitely see him being a future world champ.
BTW.... I really wish FCW were on TV up here in Rhode Island. |
