Black Lesnar
|
Six minutes and no John Cena jokes?
|
Well, that's not really fair. That means that the Rock is one of the greatest black wrestlers ever and one of the greatest Samoan wrestlers ever? Pick one god damnit.

You included Ahmed Johnson but not Tony Atlas or Rocky Johnson?

Ernie Ladd? Junkyard Dog? |

Taz Godfather aka The Goodfather aka Kama Mustafa aka Papa Shongo wasn't all bad either. |
I wish I was exposed to Ernie Ladd more, from what I can tell he was amazing. But from my era I'd go with Booker T and/or Ron Rimmons.
|
I have a VHS with Andre the Giant vs Ernie Ladd, Ernie takes an Andre Second-Rope Splash. One of the bravest men in the history of the sport :(

The Rock is a brotha, and really, this question shouldn't have even been asked. The Rock is the most electrifying man in sports entertainment, and by far, the Best Black Wrestler in the History of the business.

Steve Blackman! Or did i read the title wrong? :shifty:

He has about 20 phantom forum names, and gives himself rep for all of his posts. That's the only way i can see a waste of space such as Brock still having a green rep. |

Growing up, I always thought Ron Simmons was awesome. In August 1992, he became the first recognized African-American World Heavyweight Champion in pro wrestling history. Only Booker T (in July 2000) and R-Truth (in August 2002) would follow suit.
Before Ron Simmons, Bearcat Wright was the actual first African-American World Heavyweight Champion in August 1963, although his reign was never recognized. |
Truth is not world champion material.

I know.
Really, the NWA title hasn't meant shit for 20 years, and TNA didn't really do it justice considering the history on the belt. It was all Jarrett reigns for the most part. |

1. "Big Cat" Ernie Ladd - Just some awesome matches out there with Andre, Gorrilla Monsoon, etc
2. Junkyard Dog - Probably did more to advance black wrestlers for his era then anyone. Had mass appeal to whites and blacks. 3. Booker T - A really solid, good worker in his prime, could have done more on his own earlier, but Harlem Heat was so good back when tag teams mattered. 4. Ron Simmons - Hard to pick between Ron and Booker. Good tag team wrestler with Butch Reed in Doom, I think he was pushed to far too fast, but still great. 5. Tony Atlas - Good strong man, had a good run in the southeast and in WWWF. Honorable mention - Rocky Johnson, Thunderbolt Patterson, The Godfather 837. Ahmed Johnson |
