Most Iconic Weapon / Wrestler Pairings
Here is a shortlist of the most synonomous weapon to wrestler IDs that I could think of. No doubt that I have forgotten some. The thread title says it all...which pairing do you think is the most iconic.
Triple H - Sledgehammer Sting - Baseball Bat Edge & Christian - Chairs The Dudleys - Tables Hardy Boyz - Ladders Sheamus - Lead Pipe Steve Blackman - Kendo Stick / Nunchucks Jeff Jarrett - Guitar Abyss - Janice Tommy Dreamer - Cane Mick Foley - Mr. Socko D-Lo Brown - Chest Plate Jake Roberts - Snakes Al Snow - Head Regal - Brass Knuckles Ted Dibiase Sr. - The Million Dollar Belt Crash Holly - The Scale Honky Tonk Man - Guitar Sandman - Cane Hacksaw Jim Duggan - 2x4 Duke "The Dumpster" Droese - Trash Can I almost want to add "Stone Cold Steve Austin" with "any motor vehicle" or "beer", but not sure that one would fly. |
Jake the Snake, easily.
|
Mick Foley as Cactus Jack - Barbie (baseball bat with barbwire on it.
rick model martel and his arrogance spray lex luger and his questionable forearm |

I kept thinking of his Johnny Polo days and wanted to say "Cane" again, but no way! Raven owns the shopping cart / hobo look! |
|
This thread does not have the poll.
|
I can't vote for just one.
I would say Stone Cold and Beer for me. But they are all pretty iconic too me. I can't imagine any one of them without their signature weapon. |
Could Jake's snake really be described as a "weapon" though?
If you said Wrestler/Prop pairing, which would be more appropriate in Jake's case, that opens up a whole new slew of options. The Bulldogs with Matilda. JR with the cowboy hat. Koko with Frankie the bird. Undertaker with the long black coat and hat. All iconic aspects of the personas (to varying degrees, naturally). As far as actual weapons go, I would associate Sabu with chairs more than I would Edge and Christian. Randy Savage had the King's sceptor as his de facto foreign object for quite a while. I do appreciate it when guys have certain weapons that they are synonymous with. It pays off; just look at the pop the sledgehammer gets every time Trips busts it out... even though he rarely uses it, it's his weapon, and when we see it we know he means business. |
IRS: Briefcase
Nasty Boys w/ Jimmy Hart: Motorcycle helmet Mountie w/ Jimmy Hart: Shock Stick |

COULD SOMEONE PLEASE MERGE THESE TWO THREADS!!!! Or if anyone wants to comment on the topic, just ignore the other one until it goes away... Whichever works best. Thanks. |
Big Bossman: Nightstick
|
Does this thread really need a "poll"?
What, because there's a poll it's an official cross-section of opinion? Why do people insist on even running polls in the first place? What's wrong with a good old fashioned throwing-shit-around-and-seeing-what-sticks discussion? |
Remember in WCW when Jim Duggan's weapon of choice was a taped fist?
 He would win matches by punching his opponents with a taped fist and knocking them unconscious, despite him having punched them several times during the match without the tape and it having no more than the standard effect of a wrestling punch. |

I'm a fan of the steel chain dog collar style, or the small one that gets wrapped around the hand. Also the roll of tape that looks like something is taped in it,but it's really only a big wad of tape. Sabu's arabian spike is cool as well.
|
always a fan of Sandman with his Singapore Cane.
|
Honky Tonk and his guitar.
|
Completely forgot they brought the Beer Truck back. Shows how much trying to recapture the past doesn't work.
|
Stevie Ray and the Slapjack
|
Razor Ramon/ Scott Hall's toothpick.
Jerry Lawler's assortment of "King" themed t- shirts. Whatever Vince shoves up his ass in order to make sure his strut is just right before he walks to the ring. |

I was also beat to Mr. Fuji's salt. I have a couple: Terri Runnels and her... distractionary tactics. Also, Ric Flair and the Roll of Quarters/Silver Dollars. |
You were also beat to Stevie Ray's slapjack, so don't even try it, boss.
Also, I think Debra was more known for 'distractionary tactics' than Terri. |
Daniel Bryan and the Neck Tie of Future Endeavors!
|
Do Johnathan Coachman and Michael Cole's mouths count as weapons, cuz I've always thought such objects should be barred from ringside.

Demolition- there masks LOD- Shoulder pads Texas Hangmen- Hangman noose Adam Bomb- Mushroom cloud Meng- Tongan Death Grip (greatest weapon ever) |

Public Enemy- Table
New Jack- Staple Gun Balls Mahoney- Chair Scott Stiener- Steroids :shifty: |
The Rock - The People's Eyebrow, The People's elbow pad, The People's expensive glasses, The People's expensive shirts, the People's microphone, The Brahma Bull belt, and the numerous things he was willing to tell others to turn sideways and stick it up their asses made from candy.
|
Bret Hart - Chair
http://www.ewestmaghd.net/images/bret_hart.jpg Although this was really more of a pairing that destroyed a once iconic figure. |
John Cena - Duct Tape

-Rick Martel and his bottle of Arrogance! Yes, he is a model!
-Coach D'Amore with the Hockey Stick with the Canadian Flag on it. -Dean Douglas with the Board of Education -Shane Douglas with the steel chain. -Legion of Doom with Rocco. -Nasty Boys with the Biker Helmets. -Sherri (all evil chicks) with the loaded purse with a brick, Sherri with the spiked heel shoe, |
First things I thought of were Triple H & The Sledgehammer, Sandman & The Cane, Undertaker & The Coffin, Owen & his cast, and Jeff Jarrett with the Guitar.
|
European Champion D'Lo Brown with his "chest protector" (which became a weapon because of the frog splash)
|
Triple H - Dick....fucked his way to the top.
|
I think some people on here have lost sight of what a "weapon" entails....
Distractionary tactics? T-shirts? The People's Eyebrow? A mushroom cloud?? What the fuck, people? |
Jerry Lawler - Fireball
"The Genius" Lanny Poffo - Scroll "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert - Fireball Duke "The Dumpster" Drose - Trash Can T.L. Hopper - Plunger William Regal - Brass knucks/Power of the Punch Henry O. Godwinn - Slop Bucket |
The Miz - MITB Briefcase

I really really hate HHH and the sledgehammer. I don't think he's ever swung that thing and connected. Obviously it's hard to fake a real sledgehammer shot but the way he uses it is ridiculous.

just beat to Owen and the cast, didnt Orton Senior (along with many i'm sure use it)
didn't Owen Also use the slammy(s)? |
Rikishi and his car :shifty:

This thread smells like living in the past! But the most iconic weapon is La Parka and his chairs
