Hardest Boss?
What is the Hardest boss from a game YOU remember facing.
Can't remember if this is the hardest boss I faced but I remember the the "Train Guy" from StarFox 64 being absolutely annoying if you did not flip the switches in the beginning to kill him. |
Jaquio in Ninja Gaiden II.
Death in Castlevania Rock Monster in Megaman(without the pause trick obviously) |
Alma in Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox.
|
i remember being frustrated in devil may cry 3 but cant remember the name of who i was fighting..it was on the top of a tower
|
recently it was shredder in the tmnt 4 remake
|
Luca Blight.
|
Dunno. Anything in God of War 2 on Titan Mode.
Took roughly 2 days switching off with a buddy (probably at least 24 hours combined) trying to beat Thesius, the fucking horse keeper. Every boss has taken us a while. Never did beat it, so I'm sure we haven't even fought the hardest boss. Pisses me off seeing people do no-upgrade speed runs on Titan mode in that game. And we weren't bad at it. It just is to the point where you literally have to be flawless to beat some of those bosses. |
any of the last 3 bosses from the first Ninja Gaiden.
The mother fucking imp who rides around on some hunchback in the first Castlevania The "fucking turtle" from Shadow of the Colossus |

Chaos (the final boss of Final Fantasy) I remember being like 10 or so playing that game and having such a hard time with him and then my dad comes downstairs and shuts off my Nintendo and I was so pissed.
Super Macho Man in Mike Tyson's Punch Out was a bitch. |
Chaos was fucking nothing. You want to talk hard final fantasy bosses, try and beat the Dark Crystal gaurdians in 3. Followed by the Cloud of Darkness. Just about lost my sanity trying to beat that game. 6 ridiculous hard bosses and if you lose against one, you have to start at the beginning of the tower.
Never playing that game ever again. |
Seymour in FFX
Emerald Weapon in FF7 Sephiroth in KH and KH2 Magneto in Xmen-Mutant Apocslypse The boss at the end of Tomb Raider 2nd last fight in God of War Ninja Gaiden in general Diablo in Diablo The End from MGS3 |
The End was easy. Use your microphone to hear him mumble or look around for his bird that acts as his spotter and shoot him to piss him off and draw him out.
Divine Dragon in Legend of the Dragoon is a pain as well. Gotta beat him in basic mode. It sucks. |
Zoda from the first StarTropics.
SMIRK from Top Secret Episode (Golgo 13) The Albatross from Bionic Commando (had to time that shot juuuust right...) Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid (I didn't find out about about the controler switch thing until my second playthrough) and OZMA from Final Fantasy IX |

Baseball boss from Tail Spin
|
A few of the early bosses from Demon's Souls are absolute cunts. As is the final boss, I can't beat the bastard.
|
One of the weapons in Final Fantasy 8
|
The psychic guy from Metal Gear Solid.
I remember getting so pissed off coz I couldn't figure out how to beat him. Until I read the tip about plugging the controller in port 2. However, this was back in the days of dialup, and when there weren't a billion different cheat websites, so checking it out online was kind of a last resort. |

Also, if you enter his area and to the left, he is in the same spot and if you leave and come tright back, he is there again. cheap easy way to beat him. I did a speed run of the game on expert and it came to 5:46:23 and his fight was about 33 mins if I remember :( Quote:

The plant boss in Metroid Prime.
Goro in Mortal Kombat and the Dragon King in MK Deception. Tabuu in Super Smash Bros Brawl. The blue version of the Greater Guardian in Eternal Darkness. Hillary in GTA Vice City. The robot final boss in South Park since the thing always recharges its energy regardless of how much it looses. You basically have to "cheat" in order to beat the robot instead of fighting normally. |
Not a boss, but Jade in UMK3.

-------------------- Didn't even try to beat the "Final Boss" fairly in that game. |
Skipping past one of the best boss battles ever is absolutely retarded.
|
For some reason I remember before even going into the battle that I did not want to face him at all. I think I tried facing him once then gave up.
|
Penance from Final Fantasy X is fucking ridiculous.

Lloyds Girlfriend in Legend of Dragoon

The Weapons from Final Fantasy 7 were like impossible to kill.
|
Also a boss in Zombies Ate My Neighbors was ridiculous.

The secret bosses in FFV , make the FF7 ones look laughable.
Emerald and Ruby just have a lot of HP. But Shinryu and Omega are truly broken. |
Quote:
|
Ruby was defiantly the harder/more annoying of the two weapons on 7. Emerald was just a long fight, but easy once you figured out the right character/materia combo. I remember be all worried the Ultima Weapon on FF8 was gonna be a pain, but was a fucking cake walk.
|
Bob the Goldfish from Earthworm Jim 2. My only piece of advice on that one: wait for him to make the first move.
|
Rudy in Dr Mario 64 was hard but you had unlimited continues so it wasn't too bad.
|

Yeah that pissed me off to after losing a shit load of times i put the slomo cheat in and did it first try |
The old Ninja Gaidens.
Umm, maybe this is just me, but back in the day I remember Geese Howard was a bitch to beat. Harder than Bison ever was. I distinctly remember the computer abusing the counter movess to everything I tried to do, and timing the double reppuken perfectly to eat my projectile and still send his wave my way if I tried fireballing him to death from relative safety. |
Musclefoot in Star Fox Adventures =\
|
Dunno why Hilary gave people problems. I got it in the first try. Maybe the second. The End too. Easy peasy.
Mile High Club on Veteren was a pain if that counts. |
The End wasn't hard. It was just a long battle.
|

Also hated how after the mission, Hilary ends up dying in the next mission which made the race a big waste of time. |

Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat Trilliogy.
|
the big guy at the end of 3-3 in re5 on pro
|
Megalomania I-No from Guilty Gear... forgot which one. So fucking cheap.
Final boss from Persona 3 was probably the longest fight I've ever had on an RPG. |
For me...
1. That last boss on Heavenly Sword. I pretty much quit. 2. The final boss on Alpha 3 is nothin more than a pain. I've beaten him but is just crazy annoying. |
Crawmerax in Borderlands, solo, with any character other than a siren.
|
Mike Tyson in Punch Out.
|
Bowser in Super Mario Bros.
|

|
Tyson is cake once you memorize the timing of the flash punches. I remember the first one comes at 6 seconds. I was able to TKO him in the first round.
|
Super Macho Man sucked though. He was a beast.
|
First time I saw a Silver Lynel in BOTW I spent about 35 minutes trying to kill it. They aren't so bad now.
|
Knight Artorias in the Dark Souls DLC, is simultaneously one of the hardest, and coolest boss fights I've ever faced.
Then you find out that his arm that's broken and useless is his sword hand, and he's been kicking your ass with his off hand, making him even more badass. Pretty much everything from cuphead. |
Oh shit so in FF8 you are given this lamp inside said lamp is a demon-thing that you can turn into a summon if you beat him
This motherfucker just ate EVERYTHING my crew hit him with and he has 2 pretty much instant kill moves based around black holes. FUCK THAT DUDE This was during the start of my middle school yrs btw |

That purple dinosaur with the bombs in Super Mario RPG.When you face him in the mines..... Gave up on the game because of it.
|
The power rangers in fight in the same game...
|
Not "hardest" but damn...
|
Axem Rangers pretty easy I thought. The hardest boss in that game (aside from optional boss Culex) was Yaridovich, whom you fight at some disadvantage, I remember. I just remember feeling completely helpless every time I got to him.
|
Quote:
Yeah, that was a badass summon. Not quite as game breaking as Doomtrain, but the rest of the game becomes easier with Diablos in tow. Badass looking model too. |

Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts 2 was brutal.
|
That reach was just unfair
|
Oh fuck yeah, I think Kingdom Hearts 2 Sephiroth is the only boss I've ever given up on and took the loss.
Diablos without blind magic is super tough, but without his physical attacks he only does percentile based damage so he can't even knock you out. Draw cast Demi back at him and use Limit Breaks, he's not so bad. As long as you knew what to do of course. In a similar vein there's a whole bunch of bosses in SMT Nocture that are much worse without preparation. Matador is particular is near impossible unless you go in equipped with the correct Magatama so he won't be hitting your weakness and getting quadruple turns before you can even respond. Other bosses follow suit so you're guaranteed game overs most of the time until you know what you're going to get hit with. |
Spider Ball Guardian in Metroid Prime 2 -
It feels like a difficulty spike compared to the rest of the game from testing out a mechanic that's not quite fully formed, opposed to something you want to try at over+over because it's well designed. Not overly hard, but irritating - Deathstroke in Batman: Arkham Origins Entire fight is one long QTE where you need to wait for him to make the 1st move, then counter; problem is sometimes he just... doesn't to sucker you for a hit, esp. if you're doing well. I feel like throwing the controller after a couple of tries because of the single "HUUUH-OHHHHH!" soundbite he uses before each attack also |

Every Ninja Gaiden was fucking insane. The difference is that the XBOX era games were fully programmed to throw tons of enemies at you at once, while the NES had the perfect shitstorm of challenging platforming while [I don't remember what I actually had here, but it was more than just the word "be". Guess I inserted it out before posting and now it doesn't make grammatical sense- TG] the enemies that continually respawn at precarious points and hit you with that Castlevania knockback damage which usually sends you right into a fucking pit. And you're rewarded with having to fight 800 different forms of Jaquio at the end, even after that swerve on II where you believe the hype that Astos is the new big bad, and you kill his ass halfway through. And as for Geese fucking Howard... Actually, just SNK bosses in general. All broken, the lot of 'em. Ungodly long power bars, super fast, spamming of power moves (if you thought vs Guile in street fighter was bad with cranking out Flash Kicks instantly while *you* have to charge them, hoo boy...), and apparently some of the KoF/Fatal Fury games have had their last guy "button read", so he counters whatever you're doing to add to the hair-tearing assholery. If I had a nickel for every time Krauser chiseled my gravestone, I would have been a very rich kid. |
