NFL 2010 Season Thread

FuCK OFF THE SEASON IS STILL 3 days away! WAY TO EARLY!
Bengals play the Patriots on Sunday. Feel like there's a buttload of turmoil in New England right now that may give the Bengals an outside chance of pulling off the upset. Def wouldn't put money on that though.
Moss, Owens, and Chad on the same field. Could be some major kookiness in store. |
Im going to be annoyed at having to spell Houshmandzadeh now.
SUPER BOWL OR BUST! |
That's tough for anyone, but with your learning disability, oh man I can't even imagine.
Awww shiii, bout dat time again
Hate any thursday game unless it's Thanksgiving but I still hate the random one that they choose for the night game, should be just Lions and Cowboys.
I'm not sure how anyone could pick against the Colts in the AFC. The Colts actually got alot better then they were last year. Also, i dont buy Joe Flacco at all. I also dont buy Carson Palmer.

REVIS

Max Hall to Early Doucet
John Skelton to Stephen Williams |
The greatest game in the world is back!
...they're about to strip Reggie Bush off his 2005 Heisman Trophy. Yikes.
Who Dat?
I've heard the Giants are both overvalued and undervalued, I'm completely torn right now.
46 minutes ago - Coach Jack Del Rio on if this is a make or break year for he and QB David Garrard: “I think people that don’t understand our business might paint it like that. I think anybody that knows our business knows that every year is make or break for players and coaches. It’s a production business.'' Jaguars RapidReports
Fuck off Del Rio. You'll never be half the coach Coughlin was. |

awesome |
LOL he really killed it in that video.
Just like he killed that guy in Atlanta. |
Speaking of Ravens, ESPN has them as the favorite to win it all? You guys drinking the Kool-Aid?
I can see em making a run, but favorite, not so much. |
Tampa
I hope my Bronco fans rise up and call for McDevil's head midway through the season.
I'm so confused by him. Sometimes I think he's a genius and sometimes I think he is completely clueless.

I  McDaniels

Everything Ive seen in the preseason leads me to believe that they are no worse than a 10 win team, and probably at least 12 wins..so they should at least make the playoffs for the 3rd straight year with Harbaugh/Flacco even if its as a wild card again, though I cant see Cincy or Pittsburgh winning more than 10 games. The biggest issue I have with them getting to the Super Bowl is that one of the big 3 contenders (alongside the Ravens and Patriots) in the AFC is Indy and the Ravens haven't shown an ability to play with the Colts on the same level. |
Getting on a plane tomorrow for MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBAAAALL :D

Hey Madden curse, wrong QB.
I feel like Minnesota will win tonight
which is why i took the +6 points. |
No Rice, Harvin has a headache and Favre's ankle is shit. I'd take the Saints (if gambling was legal).
But with that said,
FOOOOOOOOOOOTBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALL |
Cardinals! too bad we lost our team.

Still baffles me how you can start 5-0 and end up 8-8. And it happened not once but twice last year :|
The Eagles are celebrating the 50 anniversary of their NFL Championship this season.
Yeah I'm not really keen on this idea. It doesn't make much sense to me. |

I hate Kevin Gilbride. Horrible play caller.
Way way way way too many people picking the Packers to go to the Super Bowl. It's making me uncomfortable.
Of course, everyone's making that pick based on their defense rankings last year when I'm not entirely convinced they can repeat that performance. They played the league's easiest schedule last season, and Al Harris is on the PUP list to start the year, leaving their secondary incredibly thin. The offense is going to be bananas, but that schedule is brutal. As a Packer homer I don't see much more than 10-6. Then again, the NFC is wide open, so maybe that is good enough for a deep playoff run. |
Also because of how well they played in the preseason.
Also I think the Packers roll the Eagles on Sunday.

That's part of the reason I hate the idea of Tramon Williams returning punts. They're one nasty hit on a return away from having to give Jarrett Bush or Sam Shields significant playing time. He's a decent return man, I just don't like the risk. |
ESPN stat for opening game of the NFL has the home team at 6-0 ever since NFL switched to opening game including the defending champion at home in 2004.
Last time a defending champion lost their 1st game at home was in 1999 with Denver. |
Dave Matthews is still going? jesus
Is Harry Connick Jr drunk?
That might have been the worst opening for anything ever.
I think the Vikings and Saints just joined Nexus.
I hope this doesnt get too out of hand early
Sly/smart little hold from Vilma to get himself in position for that pick
BRET FAVRE
I  Brett Favre
One would think the only song they know how to play in NOLA is that stupid Saints marching song.
Garrett Hartley sucks
Just noticed the Saints have both the NFC champion banner and Superbowl champion banner hanging up at the same time. They might even have a division banner up as well.
Shouldn't it be just the Superbowl banner that gets raised and not the minor ones earned since the championship has higher status than the rest for a season. They wouldn't be the only team to ever do this since Tampa Bay in MLB managed to put up both a division banner and AL Pennant banner up for the same season. |
Yeah, looked like they had banners for all 3 up. The Superdome is pretty big I guess.
God Brad Childress sucks at everything
so much for that
yay football

Sign-up to rate:Sign-up to rate: Sign-up to rate: Posted by Will Brinson Chad Ochocinco, as announced by WWE on Thursday, will host "Raw" when it takes place in Cincinnati on September 13. Oddly enough, this really isn't that surprising, right? In fact, the WWE site says it best : "So what's left for Chad Ochocinco? Gust hosting Raw, of course!" The WWE site also mentions Chad's iPhone app as well as his cereal, with links no less, so it seems safe to say that there's some sort of synergy at work here. (Finding out that Ochocinco announces something to the crowd about his app wouldn't be that shocking either, honestly; and a half-price download for anyone in the crowd with an iPhone would just be pure genius.) Either way, the good news is that if you're a wrestling fan who lives in Cincy and somehow hasn't gotten your full quota of Ochocinco before the season starts, there's an event coming up just for you. |

I just wish he could be as good as those Giants receivers. Talk about talent! |
He was my fantasy Kryptonite for two years. Of course he was decent, was.
And you watch out for Hakeem the Dream Nicks. |
Fleetwood Hak could be pretty good, I just don't trust UNC players in the pros. Even Peppers.
I have to rely on him, considering the best Giants WR in recent memory was denied work-release.
New York Nicks
Defense looked good last night..
I guess 20 year vets might actually need training camp after all.. |

Over an hour ago - RB Maurice Jones-Drew says Denver LB D.J. Williams picked on him in high school. "It’s true. They tried to slam me in the locker, stuff like that. Every time we’ve played them I always remind him. This is another chance for him to hear it.” Jaguars RapidReports

Steve Smith is a solid possession receiver, Amani 2.0

Whoever wins on Sunday gets to be called Steve Smith, the other gets to be the other Steve Smith.

Steelers +2 1/2 (vs Falcons)
Colts - 2 1/2 (@ Texans) Packers - 3 1/2 (@ Eagles) 49ers - 3 1/2 (@ Seahawks) What are my odds of winning $300? Not worried one bit about the 49ers and Packers as they should be able to cover pretty easily. Slightly worried about the Colts but I just dont think the Texans are ready yet..still. And the Steelers being a dog at home vs the Falcons is a joke. |
hope you lose all yr money this year
I hope so too.
I made a show bet on the Chargers with a 49ers/Steelers/Browns exacta.

And last year I won about 5 grand on football after all was said and done. Its also really nice to be able to go up to Delaware and collect my winnings immediatly. Its a shame they only do NFL games but anyway. |
UHOH HOW BOUT DEM MUTHA FUCKIN FALCONS
T Minus 2 and a half hours!
more then a little worried about the Pats this year... tough division, and the Pats have no defense.. I mean, 2 players... going to be some shootouts this year, but I'll be surprised to see the pats win any low scoring games.
Today will be a decent test.. Cincy has some big WR's and a decent running back... |
Football is back !!
No idea what to expect from the Giants. Like last year, it's all about health. So stoked for today.
Which games are you watching and which are you most excited for?
Pats game... going to a local "boston" bar, which will have the game, since the local game at 1pm will be the Phins since they're away. Which sucks because sometimes I like to just watch the game at home and I'll rarely have the chance to do that this year.
Then after the 1pm game coming home and will have on whatever they televise while cleaning and doing some work. |
NFL Sunday Ticket is the greatest thing in the world. I am so excited.
The Jets play "in primetime" (including nfl network game on Thanksgiving) 5 times this year.
Anyone see Wes Welkers Deal with the devil skit on Countdown? Dumbest thing i have ever seen, but all will be forgiven when the kick-off happens!
The Bacon Explosion is in the oven. Need to get a paramedic on sight.
Going 2 watch Giants today and hope they win. Then watching REDSKINS and rooting for them against gay Cowboys with Redskin fiends
HERE WE GO!
Kenny Phillips BY THE SKIN OF HIS TEETH
I am fucking done with Bob Sanders. Bob Sanders who? is what I say. Wanted to give him the benefit of a doubt this season saying he was feeling the best he'd ever felt since his injury... and goes out and gets injured in the first game of the season. Guy could be one of the best in the game if he could hold himself together. Worthless at this point. If he can't redeem himself by the end of the season, he should be cut.

Bengals are getting pumped in the ass.

Gonna be a longgggg season if the Giants keep playing like this. Awful.

I hope Vito and CSL noticed how Antrelle Rolle had to fly in from the sideline on that Steve Smith td.
