The Ultimate Fighter Season 12
So so first episode. There's a funny black guy who smiles all the time and is a Bruce Lee wannabe that calls himself "Bruce Leeroy". From the season preview at the end of the episode they barely showed GSP and there seemed to be no interaction between GSP and Koschek shown. Also there is a scene with 2 fighters in the back yard and one throws a really hard punch at his chin. Hurts even watching it.
GSP doesn't talk trash so I don't expect to see much between him and the meathead.
Bruce Leeroy seems annoying. Like he's trying hard.
No interesting personalities in this season. Hopefully it comes out during the show Looking forward to the confrontations they previewed (Armenian flipping out on Bruce Leeroy, and the guy who punches the other guy |
Looks like a bunch of meatheads this season.....
Anyone got a video of this?
You mean the entire episode or the guy getting decked?
Great first episode. Then again it would be hard not to be great with so many fights happening. I couldn't help but laugh when George called out that one dude losing soon as he seen him, only for that dude to win pretty quickly. Plus Koscheck making sure to point it out to that guy, that GSP said he didn't have a chance.
My bad totally did not know this thread existed, please merge
Merge his face with my fist!
I liked the first episode, seems like some good fighters on this show.
GSP mind fucked Koschek
I like the underdogs but Koshcheck is a bitch.
Seems like GSP's team is all underdogs. He wanted people that he could "mold"
GSP brought Greg Jackson into his camp...isn't that unfair?
I wonder why Rashad didn't bring in Jackson as one of his coaches
And I wonder why GSP didn't bring in Zahabi to be one of the trainers |
I think Shad brought in Jackson. During the first show wasn't greg telling GSP how they did the picks during Season 10?
Also, there can only be one Chief. Zahabi and Jackson prob can't coexist. |
Rashad brought in Jackson.
Zahabi is really just a striking coach, Jackson is an MMA coach. They all work together anyway with zahabi's gym being affiliated with Jackson's. |
kinda unique style this season with Team GSP, "I'm only a sparring partner" + letting the fighters' pick their own fights
well, I kinda like this years products.
actually like gsp a bit more through watching this.
ALSO, for you americans here, do you really need subtitles to understand aaron wilkinson? that's kinda ridiculous to me. every cunt here speaks exactly like that, he's quite clear spoken to me if anything. |
They should do Politcally correct subtitles for Dana, and real english subtitles for bruce leeroy
can't wait to see what happens with Bruce Leeroy and the Armenian guy
Pretty happy that "Little Kos" got his ass humbled.
I'm a big fan of Cody McKenzie and Jonathan Brookins after that last episode. Seeing Cody putting that little fuck to sleep was awesome and it was nice to see Brookins shine against the angry Armenian.
Brookins is the real deal methinks.
The wildcard decision was bullshit....
lol Marc Stephens is a clown.
No amped at all for the Kosh/GSP fight. Every body knows GSP will win again.

plus he's a crybaby. Looked like a real bitch in the last episode.
Nam Phan is gay
Brookins :y:

I'm liking Nam actually. He has a ton of potential, and he understands that body blows are important. He doesn't look that strong, but considering in nearly every fight he's practically floored someone with a body blow, I'm guessing he has some strength. |
he has great technique really turns his shoulders well
he did well with the height difference too.
Nam vs. Brookins in the finals I hope. Seeing English against Nam would be good to. I think they'd have a nice slug fest.
Pretty sure Brookins could take Nam. He struggled with Cody in that first round, and he shouldn't have.
Brookins has also gone 3 rounds with Jose Aldo as well.
Sooo remember how Tate was just this medic that came out of nowhere and no one knew who he was or how he got where he is... according to everyone on the show including Koscheck...
Well here he is with Jon Jones http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U26E-...eature=related Also, on the UFC Primetime Rampage versus Rashad dude is shown and identified. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/a...2at35019PM.png It's clear that dude is a part of the Jackson Camp and for Bonnar and all the guys on GSP's team to act like they didn't know who he was and for the UFC to try to portray him as just some random guy is retarded. Surprised no one has called them out for this yet. |

http://www.ultimatefighter.com/full-...in-a-commotion In both of those episodes, Bonnar and the guys he interviews (Dane & Psycho in the first, Kos in the second) act like they had no idea who the guy was. According to Dane, GSP said he had no idea who the guy was. |
wen is next ep on? Next wednesday?
yeah, it's 2 hours
I won't say that the last fight was bullshit or anything, but I hate how judges score takedowns so heavily in MMA. Johnson did not look dominant after those takedowns, he got them, but Nam was in control IMO.

I like Nam, and I hope Dana keeps him around. I guess Nam usually fights at featherweight anyway, not lightweight, so with UFC absorbing WEC, I don't see why they couldn't keep him around. |
I say first round went to Johnson, second to Nam and Johnson edged him out slightly in the third. I think Brookins takes the whole thing.
Nam's team did him kind of dirty. I think outside of Johnson and Brookins, English, Nam, Caceres (because he's a character), Watson, and McKenzie (because he's a character) will all be kept around for at least one fight. |
Yeah. I won't go as far to say that Nam got screwed, it's just kind of silly how many more options wrestlers have to win MMA matches.
I agree, but in all fairness it's easier to award activity than passivity and takedowns are more tangible than things like elusiveness or even defense in the bottom position.
I have a question though: Does the UFC hire the judges and refs or are the athletic commissions responsible for that? I think if there was a clearer judging guideline established by the UFC fighters and coaches might be able to train accordingly. You would think the UFC would have judging seminars or certification requirements of some sort. |
The judges are from the athletic commission, UFC, as far as I know, has nothing to do with them.
That's sort of what I wonder though, how are the judges "trained" or told how to score. Because even Joe Rogan has said that you can have the guy on top do nothing, and the guy on the bottom be busy, try for submissions, elbow him, etc, and a lot of the times the judges will still give it to the guy on top, because he's on top. |
