For those that don't know, it's a new show about underground crime/corruption during early Prohibition. It's written by one of the Soprano's lead writers, and is produced by Martin Scorcese (he's also directing the pilot). And it's got Steve Buscemi in the lead role :love:.

Yeah i agree it was slow, but it looks like it has promise to have some good episodes coming up. Sopranos was a bit slow at times also until you caught on to the little side storiies they had.

I didn't think it was too slow at all, wasn't a fan of the beaten wife storyline though. Seems kind of overdone. Other than that I loved it.

It's got the foundation to be an incredible series.

Just watched the premiere and loved it. Heard a lot of people saying it was too slow, but I don't agree at all. Thought it was paced perfectly for being the first in the series. It set up everything nicely. Love the way they introduced Al Capone too.

Is this the first production in which Steve Buscemi had a sex scene?

Need to watch like 4 episodes of this now. I fall behind on TV shows like it's my job. Though I do love watching them in binges, so it's probably for the better.

Watching season after season of LOST was awesome, because it would just be fresh in your mind. Then when I'd caught up, I still got to take part in a few seasons week by week and it was different. Love watching show after show and not having to wait to find out what happens next. And to have no commercials (depending on the show).

Yea, Boardwalk Empire is the shit. Me and my roommates have been keeping up with it since it started. We recently missed a couple of episodes but have on-demand. Love Nuck, Al Capone, J, the guy with the plastic left side of a face, etc

Shows amazing. This and Eastbound and Down are my favorite shows on TV at the moment.

Sunday's episode was incredible. Every episode has been incredible really.

Yea, i think i would turn down some head to keep up with this show. Eastbound & Down is good too lol.

Just watched the finale myself. Season started off kind of slow, but once you get all the characters, it really pulls you in... and now I can't wait for the next season to start.

Great set-up for the next season. That montage of the D'alessio brothers getting whacked was a straight up homage to The Godfather.

Incredible episode last night. This season has been amazing so far.

Brilliant first 2 eps. So many awesome things happening.

Show has been amazing. It's reached The Soprano's point with me where I'm angry when the show is over because I want to see what happens. Not as good as The Soprano's but definitely my favourite current show.

Last night was definitely the best episode of season 2.

Needs time to reach Sopranos levels... all about consistancy. Has all the elements to surpass it though. And agree, best episode was Sunday, though I get the feeling that every episode will surpass the previous in this season.

I really hope so. The only thin that I believe would keep BWE from reaching the Sopranos is in some peoples view, there are way too many characters.

Agreed. But I think that's what may separate it from a lot of shows. I think the reason for the multitude of characters is because of the historical relevance of the show. It still has the soap opera element of Sopranos, BUT there seems to be something "bigger" going on with all these people who played such a big part in history.

The one advantage with the many characters though, is that it slows down the plot, because there's SO MANY subplots, but they all seem to have their own value and aren't just thrown in there. So unlike the Sopranos, it may take longer to run out of ideas. Because after season three or four of the Sopranos, the show whiles still quite good, doesn't have the same OOMPH it started with.

Oh I love the amount of characters, I love how they really tie in notable charcters with characters I've never heard of. From what I heard Bugsy Sigel is coming to the show.

Nothing will top the Soprano's for me, but this is a close second.

It was super badass when Richard asked Jimmy if he'd die for him. and he was like "I'd take every single bullet" or something. SO GANGSTER. Jimmy is somehow super compassionate while also being a ruthless cunt.

HOW FUCKING AWESOME WAS THE SHOW LAST NIGHT!?!?! WOW! I just about pissed myself when Van Alden walked into the room to find Lucy, his newborn baby and his wife haha!

Yeah, fuck it was super intense. Shit is getting ready to hit the fan. I love how each episode has different subplots than the episode previous. Keeps every subplot super fresh.

Watched season 1 over the weekend, LOVED IT!

I'm going to wait until season 2 finishes before I start it so I can binge on it over another weekend. If a show isn't episodic, I cannot stand waiting for weekly episodes.

ARGGGGGGGGGGH Sunday was AMAZING. Classic scene when Torio, Rothstein and Nucky were all together and they realized there was some fishy business afoot. Rothstein is one of the most understated, amazing characters on the show. Always has amazing pearls of wisdom.
