ARMCHAIR WARFARE: Season 2 - *JUDGES CONFIRMED / FOUR SHOWS RECEIVED*
 

Back in July Anybody Thrilla asked the boards if they would be interested in partaking in a booking competition. There was a fair amount of interest and that grew into Armchair Warfare.

Season One is now in the bag so it's time to look forward to Season 2!

The rules are pretty simple:

1) If you are interested in booking or judging sign up in this thread.
2) 5 bookers will be selected at random.
3) They will create a company name and "draft" 20 -25 wrestlers for their show.
4) You book 4 weeks of 2 Hour TV shows leading to your big pay off at a 3 hour PPV.
5) Your show will be judged primarily by the official judges who will rank the shows 1 - 5. Points are given based on these rankings. There will also be a Public Poll from which you can gain Bonus points.
6) The company with the highest points total following the PPV Round will win the competition.

Also, thanks for the vote of confidence in urging me to defend my title but I'm gonna sit this one out. I'd rather "run" it to make sure it goes a little more "smoothly" this time around (no offense to AbT there).

Maybe I'll make a return in Season 3 if there aren't enough interested parties or in a "Best of" series.

Yo XL, let's not have any conditions that prevent anyone from being eligible (like 5k posts, or positive rep etc). If there are too many interested bookers, do a randomizer to select the lucky few.

There are no conditions atm, everyone is welcome to sign up. Like I said though, I would be inclined to give preferential treatment to those taht helped us through S1 (BizarroKing, Lock Jaw, etc).

Praying that I get in! Given I was jumped as a standby last time :P.. Though, probably in hindsight, getting your own roster, and not having to pick up someone else's storylines, makes it far more enjoyable.

How would you feel about having 2 games running side by side?

Have 2 sets of 4/5 bookers who each get the full eligible roster to pick from. Then have one set's deadline for Wednesday and the other for Sunday.

Would that work? Would the judges be willing to read 5 shows 2 times a week? Would we struggle to have enough judges?

I'd probably be OK with it. Each set gets to choose their roster though right? As in we ALL wouldn't have to share right? Know what I mean?

The winners of each set face off in a 2 show + 1 PPV Champion's Book-off?

Love that idea! Regarding the draft if we go along with the 2 games at once with a playoff, will the list of eligible workers be spread out for both sets? Let me set a example: Say someone in set 1 picks and gets Triple H for their brand. That means no one else in set 1 can have him. However, someone in set 2 could have him if they wanted yes since that's a separate set of brands, right? That's what I'm asking

That's spot on. The 5 shows in Set 1 don't exist in Set 2.

This idea came to me as a compromise to my selecting bookers issues. This way pretty much everyone gets to book but the concern of people dropping out is minimised - or at least we should have some semblance of the game left if they do flake on it.

The judges are gonna have to be able to keep track of what's happening where. As in, don't confuse HHH 1 with HHH 2. Presuming it's the same set of judges.

I am digging it.

If it's properly managed, it could be cool, as long as judges don't get confuddled by storylines.

I dunno. I say just do one set. Don't want to oversaturate the Armchair Warfare market.

Hopefully Season 2 will move a bit quicker than Season 1 as well.

Yes they were.

But the "problem" I have is that I think you and BizarroKing up there should get a chance to book this time around due to your stirling work on S1. Doing randomly means that you may get bumped for someone like Splaya - who I don't think contributed to S1 (and who, from experience of him in the c-feds, can be flakey with things like dedication).

On the flipside, I'm sure there are are other "nOObs" that will drift away from the game if they don't get to book. Where as you guys said you will judge again.


So, it's a toss up between wanting to give S1 Veterans a shot and wanting tpo keep the new guys onboard. Ideally I'd say S1 judges get to book whilst new guys become judges and show they can dedicate the time/effort to reading and judging and then they get their go at booking for Season 3.

I'm open to suggestions.

Yeah, let's keep it at 20. This season the show that gets last pick on the main draft will get first pick from the Free Agents pool.

Also, I was considering doing a draft for on-air personalities (Owner/GM, ring announcer, commentators, etc).
