Back to the Future Eric Stoltz footage
I'm sure a bunch of you know that Michael J. Fox wasn't the first choice for the lead and that Eric Stoltz did a bunch of filming before getting canned. Some of the footage is now online from the 25th anniversary DVD and even though the video is only just over a minute long, it's pretty fascinating.
Made a new thread for this because I couldn't find a Back to the Future thread and because I know a lot of you will get a kick out of it. Merge it with something appropriate if needs be/if everybody has already seen it etc. <div><object width="576" height="324"><param name="movie" value="http://d.yimg.com/nl/movies/site/player.swf"></param><param name="flashVars" value="vid=22406212&"></param><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed width="576" height="324" allowFullScreen="true" src="http://d.yimg.com/nl/movies/site/player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashvars="vid=22406212&"></embed></object></div> |
That's weird.

I've had so many people mention this to me today. The footage is interesting to finally see, but my reaction is that it's old news. I've known about them shooting tons of the movie with Eric Stoltz, and even seen screenshots, ages ago.
Then again, I probably shouldn't expect everyone to be as into Back to the Future and movie trivia as I am |
Eric Stoltz is officially on Suicide Watch
Weird.
Feels like I was watching a drama or something serious with Eric Stoltz as the lead actor.
As a kid it really bothered me that they changed Jennifers.
Are you afraid that someday you will have a Jennifer of your own and she will be replaced with another Jennifer?

I suppose we can make this the official BTTF thread.

Of course, I figured it out eventually. |
Its so hard to think of anyone but Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly. Just imagine how bad this flick could have been. Makes the movie that much better to have Alex P. Keaton in the role!!
if anyone cares
Was unable to reprise the role of Jennifer Parker, Marty McFly's girlfriend in the sequels to Back to the Future (1985) because her mother had been diagnosed with cancer. |
How could you not notice that she became Elizabeth Shue?
They look similar....
Elizabeth Shue looks distinctly more like Elizabeth Shue than the original Jennifer
I'll be honest, I don't even know who she is other than "Jennifer".
She's probably best known for her roles in The Karate Kid, Adventures in Babysitting, Leaving Las Vegas, and most recently Curb Your Enthusiasm
You guys are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY over my head. I loved BTTF, but am by no means such an afficianado.

I figured you'd have seen The Karate Kid and Adventures in Babysitting due to their status as 80s classics

What, wait.... how did I miss Xero already posting that?
My bad.... |

Well played, sir.
I have seen all of those Elizabeth Shue works but I have never connected the dots to realize they are all Elizabeth Shue.
If the Shue fits
Honestly, who throws a Shue?
That was her? Damn...

It's a digitally remastered version of the first one. Not 3D. Only running in two time slots (once on October 23rd and and once on the 25th) in select AMC theaters.
http://www.amctheatres.com/bttf/ Jerry alerted me to it and I got myself a ticket for the 23rd showing. :y: |
Ahhh so this is the reason a bunch of people have been to see BTTF over here in the last few weeks. Was confusing because the cinemas round here don't tend to show 'classic' films.
Yeah, they had it on while we were out for my birthday. Traded valuable drinkinking time to see it and didn't regret it at all

Just got back from it. Was totally awesome, as expected.
Poster is awesome, too: http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g1...g/IMG_0685.jpg |
Is it a full sized poster?
Yeah. It's actually bigger than my Dark Knight poster.
Fuck that was a sick time, that movie still stands up to this day. Fucking awesome, they had no more posters when I went though :(, oh well it as too much AMC logo on it for my liking.
