Tough Enough Returning?
From PWInsider:
Deadline.com, a Hollywood insider website, is reporting that USA "is close to ordering" a reincarnation of WWE Tough Enough, which aired many years ago on MTV and gave us current WWE superstar John Morrison. With NBC Universal passing on NXT, I would guess that if Tough Enough comes back that it will be the reality, character development show that NXT should have been. http://www.deadline.com/2010/10/usa-...-tough-enough/ |
Did they say whether USA will air Tough Enough as a separate show? That was the main reason NXT was good.
Separate show.
I don't see how USA can fit a Tough Enough series into its airtight schedule of Law and Order reruns.
Tough Enough sucked and whatever this is, I'll pass.
Tough Enough was good until about midway through the 2nd season when it became more like The Real World (Jackie Gayda fucking somebody in the hot tub).
Why don't they just add in the "reality" aspect to NXT? I'd much rather have worked shoots from the insight of the characters on NXT then another Tough Enough.

Non Russo worked shoots can be fantastic. See Kaufman, Andy.
Without Al Snow and Ivory as trainers, it's bound to suck.
Tough Enough was okay when it was seperate from WWE programming, as it was a good look at wrestling training and behind-the-scenes material.
All the Tough Enough stuff that was on Smackdown a couple of years ago was a load of bollocks though. |
Great idea, loved Tough Enough. They should make it like the Ultimate Fighter...you know minus the shoot fight at the end.

I liked the episode where Triple H gave them a right bollocking and made them cry.

From PWInsider:
World Wrestling Entertainment and the USA Network will release a casting breakdown today, seeking contestants for the resurrected Tough Enough reality series. The word making the rounds is that filming for the series would not begin until February 2011 with the series debuting in the Spring. The original Tough Enough ran for three seasons on MTV, developing such talents as John Morrison, former WWE talents Maven, Nidia and current ROH star Kenny King. The concept was retooled into the "One Million Dollar Tough Enough", which ran as part of the Smackdown series, and introduced current WWE champion The Miz to the pro wrestling world. The Tough Enough return is part of the USA Network making a move towards reality-based programming to balance out their extremely successful crop of dramas. |
NXT 4 AND Tough Enough?
is there going to be an NXT 4?
Maybe they will just scrap plans for NXT season 4
Well, the series isn't filming until February and not airing until spring and season 4 is starting in the next few weeks. There's at least one more full season of NXT, maybe two before Tough Enough since they do have that spot to fill internationally.
I think they should definitely consider the possibility, considering the current WWE champion is a Tough Enough finalist, and the Morrison factor.
Don't forget Daniel Puder.
I can see NXT and Tough Enough coexisting. NXT is about guys/girls who have at least some formal training trying to get a call-up to the big time. TE is about guys/girls with no formal training trying to get a developmental contract.
If they both stay around, I could see someone eventually winning TE and a few seasons later winning NXT. |

Clox should apply.
Clox on Tough Enough would be the most amazing thing ever.
what I remember most about that HHH TE scene was his gum chewing.
Great news, love the documentary style way more than nXt.
I'm going to try and get on.
I always liked TE.
I notice a trend where they try something for a few years, drop it for a few years, and bring it back after a few years |
If they mold it like TUF, it'll be great.

From PWInsider:
The resurrected WWE reality series Tough Enough will officially return on Monday 4/5 at 8 PM Eastern, airing directly before Monday Night Raw on the USA Network, The New York Times reported today. The Times report confirms what PWInsider.com reported in our Elite section last month, that the series would debut the Monday after Wrestlemania and likely be paired with WWE's flagship series. At that point, there were discussions for the series to follow Raw after it went off the air. WWE's Kevin Dunn described the series as a way to get viewers "who wouldn't watch a live wrestling show" to watch the WWE product. Casting is currently ongoing. The series will follow 12 men and women training to win a WWE contract. The lone Tough Enough winner still with World Wrestling Entertainment is John Morrison, who won the third season. Current WWE champion The Miz competed in the fourth "Million Dollar" version of the series, which was featured as part of Smackdown. |
<font color=goldenrod>Cool. Seems like they might also have time to squeeze in a 5th and final season of NXT to wrap up within a few weeks of this starting (unless the international TV slot is longer than I think).</font>
Still don't see why TE and NXT can't coexist - TE is about guys off the street trying to win a developmental contract, while NXT is about guys who have pro wrestling experience "trying to win a call-up to the main roster."
WWE has all but given up on NXT and it seriously shows. That's why they can't coexist.

From PWInsider:
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Stone Cold Steve Austin will be the host of the incarnation of Tough Enough when it debuts on the USA Network on 4/4. Obviously, the hope is that he will bring starpower, and viewers, to the project. They have a trial run on USA with the hope being that it will become a full time program. <object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/v53VLXUBd-k?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/v53VLXUBd-k?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object> |
I wonder who the coaches would be this go around? I miss Al Snow and Ivory.
he may be a good taz for that show now they need a strong diva for the women.
Snow won't be on it because he's with TNA.
I'm hoping for any number of the following: Regal Finaly Steamboat Arn Anderson |
Meh. Only reduces the chances that I'll watch the show. (Austin, that is)
I love it. Because Stone Cold is the man.

According to PWInsider, Booker T is the first confirmed trainer.
Not a bad choice at all. |
If they bring in Sting, he'd also be a good choice as he runs his own school like Booker T.
will Booker T vomit on Austin again?
Regal. Inno wants Regal.
TE is good place for the "retired" vets to go. Somewhere where they can still be seen and respected, yet don't have to be on WWE programming (RAW or SD) looking washed up trying to hang on to the scraps. TE could benefit from that star power

Bill DeMott training is the goods. Makes me really want to watch the show.
TE winner gets pretty much a half-assed stamp of somewhat approval by Stone Cold.
BTW my money is on 3 people crying like pussies. |
