Quote:

- WWEDVDNEWS.COM has confirmed that WWE is currently working on two new WCW themed DVD releases for 2011. The first release is due out around May and will be the best of Nitro seasons 1 and 2. It will follow the format of the Raw seasons 1 and 2 release from this year. The second release will be sometime in the summer of 2011 and will be a 2-3 disc set on Goldberg. This will feature a documentary on him plus around 20 matches from both his WCW and WWE runs. WWEDVDNEWS.COM will be releasing more info weekly for the next 6 weeks or so on new WWE DVDs planned for 2011 so make sure you check out there site for all the latest information.
Av' it.

Nice

Rammsteinmad 10-30-2010 01:48 PM

Awesome.

I wish they'd release WCW PPVs as well, maybe like the Tagged Classics.

Joey Slugs 10-30-2010 01:50 PM

Like to see them release a "best of" dvd set for each of the main WCW PPVs.

Starcade, SuperBrawl, Spring Stampede, FallBrawl, etc...

Xero 10-30-2010 01:59 PM

Reaction to the Nitro DVD - *Gasp* AWESOME!

Reaction to the Goldberg DVD - :|

Razzamajazz 10-30-2010 02:01 PM

i think this pretty much confirms goldberg either in the HoF or making an appearance at wrestlemania

Xero 10-30-2010 02:04 PM

Hall of Fame for sure.

BizarroKing 10-30-2010 02:10 PM

Now all I need is a Best of Thunder DVD and my life is complete.

Man, if they did this, or released at least Starrcade in the way they've released Mania, SummerSlam, etc I'd be all over it.

Also, I'd like to see a Best of War Games DVD.

Aguakate 10-30-2010 02:17 PM

What I wanna know is how in the world WWE will be able to bring out a 3 Disc Set on Goldberg. His career wasn't exactly LONG, FULL of highlights. I understand guys like Bret and HBK geting 3 Disc Sets, since they have been around for 15+ years, but Goldberg? Hmm.

yeah i am with you on that, i may buy the nitro one, but goldberg never had a good match.

now if they did a ddp dvd that would be good.

CSL 10-30-2010 02:33 PM

Goldberg definitely had some good matches. 3 discs would probably be a stretch but 2 discs is very doable.

I guess they're primarily going to fill it with the documentary on him, clips of other people talking about him, etc. Like an A&E special, followed by some of his 'best matches'.

thiers at least 1 of those outthier

Triple Naitch 10-30-2010 03:09 PM

I hope they will make a proper 3-Disc nWo DVD instead of the old shitty one that just focuses on the WWE nWo.

Xero 10-30-2010 03:16 PM

We won't see an nWo DVD until at least Hogan is back with WWE.

Emperor Smeat 10-30-2010 03:36 PM

I wonder if they will do the Nitro seasons and episodes where Bischoff gave away the results of RAW when Raws were taped.

You could end up watching the Nitro dvd first and then be "spoiled" on what occurred on the same season for the RAW dvd.

thedamndest 10-30-2010 04:08 PM

I'll bet half of the Goldberg DVD is his WWE run.

how the fuck did i not know about this?

Loose Cannon 10-30-2010 06:11 PM

reallly want the PPV's on DVD.

Fox 10-30-2010 06:16 PM

I bet the Goldberg DVD will have a really good documentary for the first disc, and then they can easily fill up two more discs with all of his longer matches. Hopefully they'll include his awesome matches against DDP at Halloween Havoc, Sting on Nitro and Scott Steiner in the "Rage in the Cage".

The Pope 10-30-2010 06:18 PM

Has there ever been like a Dean Malenko or WCW cruiserweights DVD released? I'd buy those right away.

Nicky Fives 10-30-2010 06:29 PM

I'd give my left nut for a 12-disk, year-by-year PPV anthology.....

Brigstocke 10-30-2010 06:31 PM

I'll buy the Goldberg one for nostalgic value. I was young back then and didn't understand as much about the business as I do now.

Was a real Mark for Goldberg once upon a time, loved the whole 'spectacle' of him.

Savio 10-30-2010 06:53 PM

I will watch the Goldberg DVD off DailyMotion. I bet they touch up on his match with William Regal, which was pretty good.

to be honest the documentary part of it is pretty disappointing, but the matched they show are pretty nice. especially the older ones with dusty/windham and such

DLVH84 10-30-2010 07:37 PM

Don't forget a DVD set of the man that defines WCW...STING!!!

Loose Cannon 10-31-2010 10:45 AM

There's a guy on ioffer that runs Heat Shock Studios. He's got all the WCW PPV Anthologies on DVD. I am curious on the quality though.

Rammsteinmad 10-31-2010 10:53 AM

Booker T seriously needs a 3-Disc DVD. THe guys a 6-time world champion, and was in WWE for 7 years.

erickman 10-31-2010 11:06 AM

they also need the wcw tag teams, rock an roll midnight steiners harlem heat.

I doubt they are doing it out of nostalgia. Having Goldberg with a 3-disc set isn't because they are comparing him with HBK or Bret. Its a $$$ thing, and it sounds like they are expecting it to do very well, so they will include as much as possible.

Jeritron 11-01-2010 09:05 AM

People mark for attitude era stars, and Goldberg was one. That set will make coin.

A cruiserweight set would be nice.

The Jayman 11-01-2010 11:02 AM

as long as I get to see The Disco Inferno

St. Jimmy 11-01-2010 12:59 PM

WWE needs to move over to Blu-Ray already. So much more opportunity for interactivity and so much more space.

DLVH84 11-01-2010 06:43 PM

BIG VAN VADER!!!

Dante69 11-07-2010 04:28 PM

They need to chronicle the rise of the NWO and then show them the destruction of them by the Icon....Sting :)

Theo Dious 11-07-2010 04:55 PM

I'd seriously mark out if the Goldberg DVD were done in a "Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior" style.

BizarroKing 11-07-2010 04:58 PM

We need DVDs of DDP and Steve Blackman.

i'm hoping for like 20 one minute matches of him destroying the likes of Disco Inferno and Alex Wright. Then behind the scenes footage of Chris Jericho beating him up backstage

Loose Cannon 11-08-2010 10:17 PM

just heard a 3 disk Ted Dibiase set and the Story of Wrestlemania DVD's are being planned for next year. HHH and Big Show are also expected to get 3 disk sets

Xero 11-08-2010 11:27 PM

Awesome on all accounts there, really.

didn't they have a million of these done already?

I'm guessing it will have updated WrestleManias on it like 24-26

but the history of Wrestlemania has been shoved down our throats so much over the years, we're all familiar with all the WrestleManias.

I jacked this DVD which came with this WrestleMania 2000 book, showing 5 minute chapters of all the WrestleManias from 1985-2000. So if this new "Story of WrestleMania" DVD is to be done, I'm guessing it's just updated to include anything from WrestleMania XX to present (which should even include 27)

"I DUNNO.." [/Hoot and Toot]

The Naitch 11-09-2010 02:19 AM

LOL just imagine, these selling like hot cakes.

Might as well come out with a WWE The Very Best of Shotgun Saturdays: THE ESSENTIAL COLLECTION 5 DISC BOX SET COLLECTORS' LIMITED EDITION GOLD ANTHOLOGY

Loose Cannon 11-09-2010 09:57 AM

more coming shortly. just keep in mind that these are "planned," but you know how WWE likes to nix things. I believe the one's mentioned are actually in the production stages, so they should be released.

I finally made a big purchase Sunday night to catch up on some of the one's I've missed.

Got Hart and Soul, Rise and fall of wcw, History of the World Title, Definitive Ric Flair collection, Ladder Match, Hell in a Cell, Greatest Managers, Best of Saturday Night Main event, Macho Madness, Greatest stars of the 90's and Allied Powers (tag team dvd)

this should keep me busy

A MDM DVD? Awesome.

DLVH84 11-09-2010 04:09 PM

How about every episode of WCW Saturday Night from 1972 to 2000, divided into three sets...

Georgia Championship Wrestling (1972-1982)
World Championship Wrestling (1982-1992)
WCW Saturday Night (1992-2000), plus a bonus disc featuring WCW Saturday Morning (2000)

St. Jimmy 11-09-2010 04:14 PM

Need to make this into a DVD:

http://www.g-pop.net/WCW%20Death.jpg

and don't even talk about that other WCW DVD they did. It wasn't nearly as gritty enough.

XL 11-09-2010 07:38 PM

^ Agreed.

For a DVD that pertained to cover the Rise AND Fall, they sure short-changed the fall part.

Loose Cannon 11-09-2010 08:39 PM

The Wrestlemania Story dvd is expected to be a multidisk set which will have a documentary. Lots of behind the scene stories on the creation of Mania 1 and telling the tales behind the road to all the wrestlemania's and the events themselves. this is what I am hearing.

sounds good though. I think it will be a lot of stuff we don't already know

CSL 11-09-2010 08:55 PM

Hope that's true. The very best documentary WWE has ever done was The Mania of Mania one on the WM XIX DVD.

XL 11-09-2010 09:43 PM

Yeah, that was pretty awesome. In fact, gonna see if it's on YouTube/Daily Motion...

Loose Cannon 11-16-2010 10:34 PM

More DVD Updates. These are in production and could be cancelled before they ever see the light of day

3 Disk Set on The Best of Steep Cage matches: I could see this one getting canned because they already have a set out, but they are planning it apparently.

DX: The final Chapter.

And on another note, expect to see Bret Hart's first title win for the first time on DVD on the 50 Greatest Superstars DVD. :y:

Loose Cannon 12-07-2010 10:34 PM

Final Updates for now.

I don't know if any one you saw the front page, but Rock vs Austin: The Rivalry DVD is planned for the end of next year

As well as this, The Best of Raw Seasons 3 and 4 (95/96) is planned

And the 50 Biggest Matches in WWE History is planned

Xero 12-07-2010 10:38 PM

50 biggest matches set will be interesting.

Wonder how low Hogan vs Andre will be, and who will take #1.

My list (top 5)

1) HBK/Bret Survivor Series 97 (just because of the after effect)

2) Hogan/Andre: WM 3

3) Taker/Foley: KOTR 98

4) HBK/Taker: WM 26

5) I'd probably go Rock/Austin (WM 15)

Lock Jaw 12-08-2010 02:59 PM

They'll probably give #1 to John Cena vs. Randy Orton 17.

CSL 02-24-2011 11:15 AM

Figured I'd stick this in here since it's mainly updates on stuff that's been mentioned in this thread:

-Nitro DVD has been confirmed as 3 discs

-The best of RAW seasons 3 & 4 DVD's have been cancelled

-The Austin/Rock rivalry DVD is coming in October

-New Triple H DVD has been delayed until 2012

-New DX DVD stuff:

Quality is usually really good. Ive bought 95-98 Nitro with all PPVs in between off there and RAW 97-99 with the PPVs and everything Ive gotten has always looked good. Im an avid wrestling video collector though, I have over 100 of 1990s VHS tapes from WCW and WWF.

been meaning to bung DVD news in here for a while but it appears to be too late to edit the title myself. I pay quite a bit of attention to the upcoming DVD's, sales/offers that are on, listings etc as I'm sure quite a few of you do so I figured a single thread with all the related stuff in would be useful. I'll harass some of the mods to change the title, use it or don't use it yadda yadda yadda

- There's a new all-encompassing Austin DVD that he and J.R have mentioned on Twitter coming

Quote:

Why will the upcoming Stone Cold DVD be different than previous Austin DVDs? The two biggest reasons are that Steve himself will be hands on as a producer of this DVD and will be selecting the footage/content PLUS with social media as it is fans are flooding various sources with ideas and suggestions as to what they would like to see in this presentation. Social media wasn’t too advanced when the last Austin DVD was released. I know on Twitter (@JRsBBQ) that we’ve gotten a ton of suggestions from fans for this DVD. I’ve always believed that one should listen to their customers.

Talked with Austin earlier today and he’s amped about this project because he’s going to be able to be much more involved in it and to be able to address several matters that heretofore haven’t been. I’ve done a three hour interview already for this DVD and will hopefully be able to help in other ways if called upon.
- There's a second Ladder match DVD entitled 'The Ladder Match 2: Crash and Burn' on the way.

- Haven't seen this mentioned on here, coming in August/September:

-The Bret/HBK "official details" (which will be the the first of a 'Greatest Rivalries' series as some had hoped)

Quote:

For more than a decade, Bret “Hit Man” Hart and Shawn Michaels engaged in perhaps the most storied rivalry in the history of sports entertainment, from their teams (the Hart Foundation and the Rockers), through battles for the Intercontinental Championship and the richest prize in the business, the WWE Championship.

Their enmity spilled out of the ring, and led to the most infamous incident in the history of professional wrestling, The Montreal Screwjob. More than a decade later, the two men buried the hatchet as both are now WWE Hall of Famers.

Now, for the first time ever, the two sit down together and rehash their intertwined destinies in Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart. These new, never-before-aired, interviews will shed new light and insight on controversies fans have speculated about for years.

loopydate 08-05-2011 10:56 AM

Kind of sucks that Montreal is BluRay exclusive...

Droford 08-05-2011 11:02 AM

Isnt it on another set somewhere..

probably not that big of a deal

loopydate 08-05-2011 11:07 AM

It's on a ton of them. Just seems weird to not include it on a DVD about the feud between the two guys involved, though.

Blu-rays probably have a higher profit margin and since there's no point having a blu-ray of mainly SD content, they're clearly making some big moments "blu-ray exclusive" for no other reason than to make people get that.

Triple Naitch 08-05-2011 06:52 PM

Haven't watched the Iron Man match in years. Really looking forward to seeing it on Blu Ray.

Rammsteinmad 08-05-2011 06:56 PM

Really interested in the 'Bret's WCW Regrets' bit, but not in the Blu Ray. Hopefully it'll end up on Youtube.
