Wrestling apparel that you would wear in public?
Thinking about getting the Nexus hoodie. Very subtle for a wrestling sweater. The average person couldn't tell what it is. Only your die hard wrestling fan would know. It's not like an nWo or Austin 3:16 shirt.
http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:5...loadis.jpg&t=1 I still rock my John Cena Word Life trucker hat from time to time. It comes off subtle, and I like the old school W (the WWE block logo without the F). You can't tell by looking at it that it's a John Cena hat, unless you look closely, cuz it says Word Life underneath it in small font. I even used white out to white out the Word Life, but scratched it off about two years later. I AM NO LONGER ASHAMED. It just has a good fit, unlike the other hats I got. I wouldn't wear it if it didn't fit properly. I just like the W logo. IMO, the WWE should use this as their current logo as opposed to the scratch W attitude logo that they use now. I would also like to get an Evolution shirt. The gold logo, or even the one with the chick with the cocktail glass (Paid, Laid, and Made) And if they had a neon Ultimate Warrior shirt, I'd rock one of those. This artsy chick in one of my classes long time ago used to rock one. I don't know how the hell she got that. Not sure if it's an official WWF shirt, to be honest. I made a promise to myself that once The Rock turned heel, I would buy his first heel shirt. So I bought the HIT IT STRONG HIT IT FAST shirt at WrestleMania 19. And lastly, I wanna get the first Brock Lesnar shirt. Rey Mysterio should get a shirt with those metallic wings he has tatted on his back, on the back of his shirt. I think they had one. Not sure. I will list some more desirable wrestling apparel later on! |
|
Fans in Japan used to go up to Rey wanting to buy his masks. He made $800 off one once. On average between $200-500. Brought 100 of them, sold them all. This was before his ECW/WCW/WWE days
|
I wear a Hot Rod shirt from time to time (including now). Mostly because it's ironic.
|
I would rock the hell out of a Hot Rod! shirt. And one of the old school Hulkamania T's- the yellow one, preferably.
Also, honestly, I would wear the original Bret Hart sunglasses. Elastic and all. I would also wear some of the ECW gear. It just sucked that I had a chance to buy a selection from a (now defunct) department store back in Ohio some years ago when I was in high school. It was about six months before I even became aware of ECW, and I guess they did a local loop in the Youngstown area. Store had a boatload of merch. I was just there to buy some sweats for track practice when this one shirt in particular caught my eye. Looked menacing, and loved what it said on the back, but I didn't buy it because it was the colors of one of our rival high schools... ORANGE AND BLACK. Kicked myself in the ass about missing out on it a year later. |

I've just ordered Edge's "Limited Edition" tshirt from wwe.com
-EDIT- This shirt: http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/9564/edgeshirt.png |

Yeah, got the Nexus Top Rope shirt for that reason. Perfect to wear out.

I wear my Miz "I'm Awesome" and Chick Magnet shirts, as well as my Christian "Captain Charisma" shirt on a regular basis. Would totally rock the Zack Ryder shades and headband...if WWE sold them. :(

The Edge one is pretty awesome though. Also, I'm not a "hat person", mostly because I feel I don't suit hats but I may very well buy this hat. http://wweeuroshop.com/images/prodpics/xl/26184.jpg What I don't get though, is why wrestling fans are ashamed/embarrassed to wear wrestling merchandise in public. I don't see anything to be ashamed/embarrassed about. You're wearing merchandise of something you like, everyone does it. I don't see why wrestling has to be the "black sheep" of merchandise, so to speak. This sounds cheesy, but I can't think of a better word for it, but I wear my wrestling merchandise with pride and I really don't care what anyone says about them. Though I hardly get anyone walking up to me when I'm wearing wrestling merchandise and saying stuff like "How can you like that? It's fake" or "That's gay" or whatever. Mostly because only wrestling fans will know what I'm wearing is wrestling merchandise. I just don't like to read about people admitting to hiding the fact that they wear wrestling merchandise. Same goes for watching wrestling, why be ashamed/embarrassed to say you watch it? :-\ I'll stop before this turns into a rant. :shifty: |
We're not allowed to wear sports stuff at work, which includes wrestling shirts.
Also, I have dorky video game shirts and random things that I wouldn't wear if there was a chance of pulling. I could wear that Nexus one though. |
I have the CM Punk Ramones shirt which I usually wear when I get home from work.
The Orton Viper shirt isn't bad. Might get that if I go to Raw. But the thing that kills these shirts is the WWE Authentic Apparel logo in the bottom corner. |
I was wearing my "Chris Jericho - Wrestlemania 26 / World Heavyweight Champion" shirt, and a lady who looked to be about 80 years old walked up to me & said "How can you like that guy?" I gave my reason - "I became a fan of his due to his mid-90's WCW work." She apparently lost interest, because she wandered away mumbing "he's a damn loudmouth... Best in the World, my ass....."
So, I was approached by a Crazy Old Lady who was also a wrestling fan. Honestly, it's one of the most awesome things that's happened to me at the mall. |

Are you ever afraid you might be mistaken for the head of some really fancy Nigger hating organization ? |
If I was Asian I would yeah. The yellow for the yellow skins hating niggers.
Sounds like a friendly bunch though. |

Im a grown up, sort of, Im not allowed to wear wrestling apparel :$
|
|
I used to rock an ECW shirt and Hulkamania shirt :o
|
Anything with my favorite wrestlers on it, since they tend to have the best gear anyway.
Punk Miz Jericho Taker Austin The new Old School shirts nWo Original DX (not the shitty updated ones) Sheamus The Top Rope Nexus shirt Edge Orton's tend to not be obvious wrestling shirts, just good designs. Danielson's "Violence" shirt Triple H WWE/WWF shirts (scratch or block logos, but not the "Word Life" logo) ECW I would never wear Cena gear post his rapper gimmick. It has nothing to do with Cena, they're just ugly and loud as fuck. Same with Kofi's stuff. My SummerSlam 98 shirt is my favorite shirt of all time, honestly. |
still wear my ECW shirt from time to time. mostly when it comes time to start doing laundry
|
I have my Captain Charisma t-shirt that I will wear once in a while. The only thing I hate though is that it says "Christian' on the back, so people might think it's some sort of religious shirt
|
The Charismatic Christian
|
|
yea, really.
Orton's t-shirts are awesome. really want one of those. |
I saw a sick Rick Rude one before, it was a yellow one with CSL's avatar in the middle.
Also, Paul Roma's pink t shirt was pretty sweet. |
Austin 3:16
Austin 3:16 2001 Version What? Venom 3:16 with the snake head) nWo nWo Make A Choice from WCW Edge-head Jeff Hardy Falling Objects Matt Hardy V1 Cactus Jack Mankind WWE logo WCW logo (Shane's logo) Beer Money Mind On My Money Fake Wolfpac Fake LWO DX Original DX Cartoon DX Vince Likes... Fake Merry DXMas DX Football Jersey nWo Hockey Jersey in Black, White & Red 7 different Triple H shirts from DX to 2002 Road Dogg Spike Dudley Underdog Fake DX/nWo shirt (Fake 2006 SurvSer pic) That's what I have, I wear them all and I'm nearly 25. |
I havent bought as much merchandise lately, but I occasionally wear shirts in public. But I mainly stick to wrestling related events to wear the merchandise.
|
I only have an NWO t-shirt that I bought at a WCW house show back in 2000. Still wear it from time to time, but it's a bit old and cracked now, I use to wear it religiously at the time, so it's kinda retired.
|
Definitely wanna get some more though, that scratch Nexus shirt looks cool, and Edge and CM Punk have had some pretty awesome t-shirts over the years.

I have London and Kendrick (jester) MCMG, Orton (one of the first gasmask shirts) and RVD (yin-yang) shirts that don't look at all like wrestling shirts barring RKO in small red letters on the sleeve of the Orton one and the Van Dam one 'RVD' on the back. Have a bright red Terry Funk shirt with a big fuck off cartoonized pic of his face on the front that I'd wear to the gym but I don't think most people would recognize him anyway and besides, it's Terry Funk. Still want Edge's first Sex and Violence shirt as well. |

The guy's from HongKong so I was naturally suspicious of the quality but he has a 100% feedback record. He also ships wherever.. What do you guys think? |

I really like these Limited Edition WWE shirts they've put out (sans the Taker one).Anyone know where I can grab one from with reasonable shipping to the UK?
|
|
Check out the ebay link to that HK seller I posted, and chance your luck.
|
I wouldn't wear wrestling apparel, last time I did was either 1999 or 2000. I don't like most of the designs they have, hate that "WWE" logo is almost always there and I may enjoy watching it but I'm not a big enough fan to wear anything to represent it.
If I ever went to a live show, I might get hyped up and get one there but other than that I don't see it happening. I prefer band shirts and certain character comic shirts :) |
I haven't worn wrestling related attire since I was about 8 but some of the stuf now is pretty good/passable as non-wrestling related. For example, those Limited Edition shirts only have a small WWE logo on them and don't feature the guys name or moniker, etc.
You'd only know they were wrestling shirts if you watch wrestling. |
those limited edition shirts just look your typical elaborate designs that you see on Affliction shirts/MMA clothing
|
What's the point of wearing a wrestling shirt if you're afraid someone is going to know it's a wrestling shirt? I don't get it.
Why not just wear a non-wrestling T-Shirt if it being a wrestling shirt is a concern. Is it to secretly share your fandom without really sharing it? I want a CM Punk shirt. Probably the first recent wrestling shirt I've actually wanted to buy. Other than that, I like stuff from attitude era or earlier, for "vintage" reasons. I also hate the new Ed Hardy style shirts. I hate those graphic tees altogether. Not a fan of the trend. I can't believe it's even permeated wrestling shirts. Although the one of Triple H holding the two hammers always sticks out to me in a crowd. I guess that's the only one I kinda dig. It's probably the only graphic tee on the planet that I dig. Probably because the way the design goes over the arms looks cool. |
Agreed with everything Nigga Jeritron had to say. If I ever buy a WWE shirt, it will be that HHH Eversoris one.

So he can get away with shitting in luggage without having to deal with the smell?
|
This kid came into my class wearing the old Edge & Christian yellow shirt. I wanted to become his best friend.
|
Got your panties wet, did he?
|
Naitch drooled all over himself.
|
Right now I am growing my hair out, so most of the time you will see me wearing this:
http://i53.tinypic.com/2yn013b.jpg |
That is fucking hideous. Which, to answer Jeritron's question, is why I don't like wearing stuff that is obviously wrestling merch - cause it's far too loud/brash.

I'm guessing Randy bought (the right one) say at some unknown store, wore it on RAW one night, and WWE liked what they saw and decided to make a replica shirt of their own for WWE merchandise |
yea, the one on the right is what I would want. That shirt on the left is the picture from that ebay guy posted in this thread. don't like it as much
|
ugh, just checked wweshop.com. they only sell the one with the giant logo. that's gay
|
werd, the WWE version looks like the Brahma Bull. :n:
