I am so nervous (UFC 123)..
God, I hope Rampage beats the fuck outta Machida..
To win Jackson needs to: -keep the fight at close to mid range.. He has to close the distance and not let Machida set up long range and pepper him.. -he needs to used his size, strength, and wrestling to keep Machida on his back.. He kept Hendo on his back, he should keep the Karate Kid down there as well.. -check motherfucking leg kicks!! I haven't been this nervous for a ficht since Rampage/Liddell in the UFC.. |
dont use wrestling performance against hendo as setting any bar in terms of wrestling skill. He was a tough grecco wrestler, but he lacks a lot of fundamental wrestling skills that guys who are not anywhere near accomplished as he is in the wrestling world would be able to dominate him.

i hope rampage wins but i will be absolutely amazed if he does.
It's actually UFC 123 since UFC 122 was Saturday.
I like both fighters but Rampage hasn't shown me the fighter spirit for a very long time. If I see the Rampage from the Forest Griffin and Rashad Evans fight then Machida will win for sure. I'd like to see Machida be a little more aggressive. |
Rampage didn't look bad in the Griffin fight.. I could have actually seen that fight going his way, just like the first time Shogun and Machida fought.. The Rashad fight is the only "bad" fight Rampage has had since he fought Shogun in 2005..
I like Rampage, but he is inconsistent. He is one dimentional, and refuses to work on or use his wrestling. He's just concerned with standing and banging.
How is having 1 bad performance is 5 years "inconsistent"??
I didn't say he looked bad. He didn't look bad but he could have been more aggressive and knock Griffin out or get him down and pound his face in. People say he's a good wrestler so why doesn't he grapple? Would have been very helpful against Rashad since he really doesn't do well when he's scrambling.

love Machida, but I also love Rampage. I think Machida wins though.
remember Rogan was jizzing his pants proclaiming the Machida Era? WELCOME TO THE MACHIDA ERA!!!!!! That era lasted 2 fights
tbh, it's not like just anyone in the LH division can kick his ass. He went 14-0 for a reason.

I will say now that machida won't ko rampage.. |
Doubt he'll ko him, but i do see him winning.

What is this Dolce Diet Rampage is supposed to be on? Is it like the newest fad in MMA dieting?
I think Rampage losing to Rashad touched his ego and pride enough to where he'll be fully focused on putting away Machida. I'm more nervous for BJ's fight. Can't underestimate Hughes at all. |
If BJ loses he is prolly done which is sad considering he was the best lw in the world like 18 months ago..

Couldn't remember how long ago the first Edgar fight was and didnt feel like looking it up..
Apparently Penn is making excused already is he loses, he says he will only be coming in at about 165, and will be much smaller than Hughes.
He said that during the rogan interview but he said he feels good at that weight and putting on even more weight would slow him down..
5 pounds under weight is not bad. Hughes might actually be like 180 come fight time, but it's not like some of the differences at Heavyweight.
20 pound weight difference at welterweight can be quite significant. Hughes has to be atleast 185 on the day of the fight.
I don't doubt it, but why move to welterweight if he can't hack it? It really does come off as making an early excuse.
I'm ready for Machida to be a flash in the pan and slowly fade into obscurity. I don't like him.

And his piece of shit manager improvs when he is supposed to be translating..

I hope the Machida era makes a comeback and extends forever.

Saw an recent interview where Page said he doesnt give a shit if he wins or loses, he just wants to put on a exciting fight.

Yep.. He has beaten some names (Penn, Franklin, Rashad, etc) but has had some bad showings.. The Rua and Ortiz fights come to mind.. He is not unstoppable and Shogun showed that twice..
I always found Machida was overhyped. Not that is isn't a top 15 fighter in the world, but that he was ever unstoppable was ridiculous.
Everybody who has an undefeated record or is on a rampage like Brock will always be hyped like they are unstoppable. They pretty much have to for business.

I'm not calling him unstoppable, just really fucking good. He's had boring fights, but not really bad ones until he met Shogun. |
Never really thought the first Rua vs Machida fight was that big of a robbery. Always seen it as a close fight, that could've went both ways. Not sure at all who will win between Machida vs Rampage, but I think it will be a good fight.
Chill out, it's not like you're fighting.

I think there's some sort of metal thing that Machida had. Being Brazilian, he felt that he was superior than all the American fighters he had fought. Just like how an American just naturally feels superior than a Canadian person. It's a stigma maybe (that Brazilians are better fighters than American. You can debate this, but it's just an observation. Just like how white people feel superior than Mexicans), and a reason why Machida was unstoppable for a while.
But then Tiago Silva came along, although a fellow Brazilian, but Machida had experience and age over him Then comes Rua. The biggest threat so far. Has just as much experience if not more than Machida. You could classify Machida and Rua as equals. Both Brazilians. This could've played a factor in the mental game. You can see in Machidas eyes as he walked towards to the octogan, in his 2nd fight, that he was visibly shook (scared and/or worried) That being said, I think Machida will beat Rampage in convincing fashion, because he drinks his own piss |

Hope Machida wins. Rampage isn't a dick or anything, but sometimes he plays one on TV
I'm not a dick in real life. I just play one on TV.
Luke Cummo is hummo
Pulling hard for Rampage but don't see him coming close to winning.
Rampage doesn't seem hungry anymore these days. He's at the point where he's a celebrity, people like him, he's beaten Chuck Liddell. A loss won't really hurt him. He really has nothing else to prove.
Machida on the other hand, needs to win. He looked like a bitch against Rua (twice), and I think he feels that he needs to prove himself to gain his respect back |
Dana white said Rampage is hungry and ready..
dana white said james toney was in good shape and lookexd serious about his fight

Well Machida did kind of look like Rua's bitch the last time we saw him.
I'd like to see a double knockout.

After dismantling everyone else he fought.
I said he looked liek Rua bitch, not that he was one. Don't get so excited.
Yeh of course Dana's gonna try and pump up the fight and say said fighter is in the best shape of his life. He's a business man.

And he didn't say he was only Rua's bitch, he said he "looked like a bitch". I mean come the fuck on. I just hate this generation of fan in any sport. They don't really take anything into consideration... it's like "he lost therefore he's a bitch".
I watched Forrest Griffin get dismantled by Anderson Silva, but I didn't leave that fight saying "what a bitch", I was more thinking "jesus christ Anderson Silva is a beast." |
I didn't say he said anything, I only spoke for myself.
Oh, and yeah Forrest got up and ran away, like a bitch. |
So pumped for 123. Phil Davis, Lauzon, BJ, Rampage, and Chandella Powell's sweet ass.

And really, you could have chosen a better example, you know one where the guy who just lost doesn't actually run away.
Honestly, when ur fighting the baddest men alive, sometimes ur gonna get tuned up. And you know wat, when you train like a mofo for a fight and it ends with you getting completely dominated, it's a hard pill to swallow. Forrest is also completely loco.
But ok, keep calling the most dangerous men on the planet bitches. |
Koscheck pretending he got ilegally kneed in the head is a bitch move in my book
Come on, show some respect for your opponent who just demolished you than atleast, don't just get up and run like, well a bitch.

Phil Davis is a beast. Would love to see Jon Jones v. Phil Davis one day. Karo screaming Noooo after getting TKOed was also awesome. I see him drinking heavily and popping pills tonight. |
I hate him lol..

Weird pulling for so many Negros in one night while not watching the Saints or Hornets..
:'( Gerrald |
Lol the pride music
He's literally trying to take it back to the Pride days. I hope he KOs Machida with a slam.
So is Lyoto gonna win this off the back of that flurry?
Blah.. This should have been a draw.
Both of them were surprised lol.
AV IT
I called it.. I texted my buddy and my brother rampage 29-28..
Gotta be honest, I marked out when Rampage got rocked and flurried out then when Machida almost got Aronaed..
Why is espn not having the usual mma live post fight show??
I felt like Machida won slightly. Like I said earlier I would like to see Machida be more aggressive. With the way his style is, if he's too set in it then it will not help him with the way the judges are right now.
I like that Rampage looked a bit different from his previous fights. They were both professional. I was afraid we were going to see the power slam 2.0 but Lyoto was smart enough to get out of it. Can't wait until: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...124_poster.jpg |
