I wonder if the doors are still open for him in the future, you know.. they just don't have anything for him right now. Shawn Michaels was released in the beginning of his WWE career (because of a bad first impression among the boys). He was back a year later

Seriously, I don't think they really ever gave him a chance to get over. I can only see if something happened backstage he got released for but I can't believe they pushed him to actually win NXT only to release him. Shame.

Either something happened or he asked for his release and got it. I never really thought he'd go anywhere in WWE, honestly. He's a ridiculously stiff wrestler and way too small. Two things working greatly against him.

We had heard rumors of this the last 48 hours, but World Wrestling Entertainment publicly confirmed that NXT Season 2 winner Kaval, known as Low Ki on the independents and Senshi in TNA, has been released.

The word making the rounds within WWE is that the company didn't have any plans for him and it was an amicable parting of the ways, as opposed to the company dropping the former ROH and TNA X-Division champion. It is believed he has the typical 90 day no-compete that would prevent him from working for any nationally televised companies.

Kaval was signed in 2008 by World Wrestling Entertainment and spent a good amount of time in WWE developmental, despite being well known for his high level of performance in the ring. A number of injuries hampered him during his time in Florida Championship Wrestling before he was brought up to NXT.

They had weeks of time to think of something both short term and long term while he was on NXT or anyone else during season 2 just in case they ended up winning as well.

Nexus might end up as the best idea from NXT since it at least guaranteed the rookies would be used for a while except those who got hurt or kicked out (Bryan being an exception since he was guaranteed to come back after being fired).

Blame MVP. They looked like they could have been a good face tag team in the WWE. They had matching clothes and they worked on some sort of symbol during MVPs pyro fire. Then they jobbed quickly to DrewMac and Dolph Ziggler though.

I think MVP/Kaval was where they were going with both of the superstars. MVP was like 'fuck this I'm outtie' so Kaval was left with no direction. They hot shotted the NXT Season 2 title shot for the IC Championship about 48 television hours away from the PPV, so no hype at all.

Its a known FACT that the under team of writers are the one that are responsible for the development of younger talent and their creative angles, and that Michael Hayes is the head writer for Smackdown and that final creative decisions go to and are executed as Hayes' behalf. Hayes is known for pushing currently the more established talent such as Kane, Mysterio, Big Show, and Edge. So for creative to say they didn't have for him i am not suprised. Kaval doesn't match up in Hayes' eyes as someone to be a legit contender in the WHC or IC title scene, than what is there to do with him other than JOB him out and bury talent. Hayes is very select and very picky when it comes to who he puts over and who he doesn't put over. Other than in-ring talent, which Kaval has amicable amounts of, he lacked character depth and the ability to work on the stick. Wrestling ability will only take you so far in the "E". Sure it may have gotten him credibility in ROH and TNA where the emphasis on wrestling ability and talent far outweighs character development but in WWE he fell short. Maybe he needs to re-think his mic and character work and who knows down the road the door might be open for him but honestly I don't ever see guys like Danielson and him having long term appeal ability to the WWE given their current direction and creative team.

Well this sucks. His offense seemed to be over with the audience, and he always put on fun matches. He'll probably be back though.

I knew something was up when he jobbed to Drew the other night, it just didn't feel right. This is a real shame WWE seriously needs to get their shit together it's not a wres.... er 'superstar's' fault that you can't figure out how to properly use him. Yeah, I seriously don't fucking get their writing team if this is true. The crowd was definitely into Kaval. If you have someone the crowd is really into, you find something to do with them, period. No, instead, they'll find something for someone the fans don't give a shit about, and won't buy into.

Seriously, WWE wants to make stars, but they seem to want to do it by closing there eyes and throwing random shit at a wall to see what sticks. I'm not saying the fans are always right, but if the fans are getting behind a wrestler,, for whatever reason, be it the in ring style, the mic skills, whatever, it's probably a good idea to roll with it.

It's a work! This is the beginning of the GENESIS of Kaval! Gonna debut with the rest of the unused NXT Season 2 rookies and tear stuff up on Smackdown until they are given jobs!

Can't bring myself to believe that they had no plan for the guy pushed to win NXT. Gotta agree with Xero (and subsequently, Afterlife) that someone who was behind him on creative got canned.

He was over with the fans, so it would have at least been worth their while to give him a chance to really shine.

That pretty much sums up my feelings here. But to elaborate...

I wouldn't say he was massively over. The crowd reaction for his entrance was always pretty quite, but they did get behind his inring work. Which is great, right?

IMO his in-ring work got him over in spite of the writing team. The guy was booked to lose most of his matches, he barely got mic time, had no storyline put behind him and then cashed in his NXT Winner's title shot on a midcar title. The only way that makes sense is if there is a personal issue between him and the champ, which the writing team never bothered to do.

This shit really pisses me off. The guy was different, that is a good thing.

And as for the 90 Day No Compete...the WWE should have no right to impose that if they release a guy cos they "have nothing for him".

It's ridiculous to think that WWE had no idea what to do with Kaval.

Here's me pulling something out of my ass...

ADR introduces a masked driver for his vehicle. Alberto Del Rio's rivals suddenly start getting laid out left and right. In a confrontation with say, the Big Show, the driver viciously attacks Show with kicks, chopping him down to set up the arm bar from ADR.

Yes, I pulled much of that from the Green Hornet. That's a movie that's coming out and it'll be current enough for fans to see the masked man and think "Kato." It's also an old tv show, so Vince will actually know who the hell the guy is supposed to be.

Let's go even more generic. Kaval turns heel after having several disappointing losses on TV. Attacks Rey Mysterio in the locker room and is suspended for a week. When Rey recovers he faces him in a match in which ADR comes out and reveals he ordered the attack.

Evan Bourne must be recovering from injury quicker than expected so they won't need Kaval anymore since the company's star jobber will be back just in time for the next Superstars taping.

If they would have kept him with Laycool and had Laycool gradually turn him heel I think he would have worked.

Shocking. I'm sure more rumors will come out in the next few weeks. Hopefully, Kaval won't be a dumbass and bash WWE and completely ruin any chances at a return.
