IYO: Who will win the 2011 Royal Rumble

Last year was without a doubt the year of John Cena. And the odds seem to be in his favor as of now. I hope someone new wins it this time :-\

P.S. I forgot to give the "others" option in the poll :p

James Steele 12-24-2010 03:36 AM

Triple H

GD 12-24-2010 03:42 AM

Totally forgot "The Game". It won't be a surprise if he comes in as a surprise entrant and wins the Rumble.

dronepool 12-24-2010 03:42 AM

Triple H, probably.

El Fangel 12-24-2010 03:44 AM

Cena and I don't watch wrestling.

That kinda fucks up his plan for Sheamus :-\ Although Trips can still make the surprise entry, only to have Sheamus cost him

GD 12-24-2010 03:49 AM

They are probably going to waste John Morrison versus The Miz for the Royal Rumble. It would have been amazing if they would have saved it for Wrestlemania. Two relatively new guys in the company fighting over the WWE Championship on the grandest stage of them all.

Swish 12-24-2010 04:25 AM

This is a tough one, Undertaker could be up on that winning line, but also Wade could be too.. I'd have to go for Undertaker..

The Naitch 12-24-2010 06:08 AM

I wouldn't mind seeing Undertaker. The whole "which champ will he choose?" build will be good in itself

Rammsteinmad 12-24-2010 07:37 AM

I'd love for it to be either Christian or John Morrison.

BizarroKing 12-24-2010 09:32 AM

KOFI!

yup i could see somethin like trips comin back..eliminating sheamus and then after sheamus is tossed grabbing trips arm and taking me out too..leading up to their match at WM

Aguakate 12-24-2010 10:30 AM

Sheamus.

He's been out of the title picture for some time now, and it's time he main evented WrestleMania, as he didn't this year, even though 2009 was a great year for him, where he came out of nowhere, became a contender for the WWE title, and eventually, won it.

He had a good match with Triple H, but didn't main event, so this time around, he should get the nod.

If not him, then I feel Triple H will probably make a surprise entry and win it. Or, even if he doesn't make a "surprise" entry, if he's in the Rumble, he can win it, as he has also been out of the title picture for some time.

CM Punk wins the WWE Title at Elimination Chamber (because WWE are obsessed with swapping champs a month before Mania) and the Punk/Cena feud culminates in a WWE Title match.</font>

Xero 12-24-2010 11:22 AM

Pulling for Del Rio. Don't expect him to main event Mania since that's not what the Rumble's about anymore, so it doesn't matter.

It'd be awesome if Del Rio won, I'd mark out...however, I see him more likely to win the MITB at WM.

youve got that backwards

Punk wins the Rumble, Cena wins at the EC.

Ziggler gets WAY more out of MITB than Del Rio. Del Rio is realistically RIGHT at the cusp of being a legit main eventer. The Rumble win would solidify that.

Ziggler has a few months before he's at that point in my opinion, and him holding the MITB for a few months would really help him get that push he needs.

TBH, I forgot him. But at the same time I can put up a valid argument that Jackson deserves to be on the list since he is a former World Champion.

Xero 12-24-2010 11:44 AM

lol no he isn't.

Schlomey 12-24-2010 11:45 AM

Vladamire Kozlov wins the Rumble then goes on to WM and wins the World Title. PWNED.

El Tigre 12-24-2010 12:02 PM

It would be great if Kozlov won the Rumble. While he has been somewhat entertaining with Santino, I still reminiscence over how much of a force he was during his debut (as I recall from his first night on Raw he dominated Cena). It'd be cool if he were to break away from the tag division and become a monster heel again.

With that being said, I voted for Barret to take the win. Now that Nexus is more or less over, it's the perfect time for him to step up as a single competitor.

Xero 12-24-2010 12:04 PM

Still hoping for the Santino elimination spot.

I was being sarcastic and being relevant by bringing one thread topic in to another. I would be dissapointed with a Kozlov Rumble win as he has not been built AT ALL since his beginnings. It would be a LEFT FIELD win for sure. That being said....NEXT YEAR IS THE YEAR OF THE KOZ. (....more sarcasm....kinda). I do like the big loof.

MIZantine Empire 12-24-2010 01:12 PM

its gonna be cena, he is probably gonna enter number 1, and eliminate everbody, then eliminate cole, striker, the ring announcer, 15 fans, people back stage, then the ref, and no one is safe..mind u thats not a brag post, i hate cena sometimes..and how they shove him down our throats. i really hope del rio wins the rumble..he is quickly becomming my favorite

The Gold Standard 12-24-2010 01:15 PM

I really think it depends on who th Champ is. If Miz is still the champ, I think Orton wins. But, I could also see Del Rio winning if Edge remains champion.

rated rjo 12-24-2010 01:35 PM

My money's on HHH, Barrett, or Orton.

Who I'd like to see win the Rumble... Punk.

MVP 12-24-2010 01:38 PM

Anybody but Cena please

Schlomey 12-24-2010 01:48 PM

Del Rio main eventing WM this year? I can't even fathom it.

Last year, Edge came back from injury to win the Rumble. The year before, Cena did the same. Which means this year it will be...

Triple H.

Lock Jaw 12-24-2010 03:01 PM

Out of the choices given, I would have to say that Justin Gabriel is by far the most likely to win this year's Royal Rumble.

GD 12-24-2010 03:04 PM

I have no clue as to why I put him there

Emperor Smeat 12-24-2010 03:22 PM

Cena or Orton are the safe bets from RAW with Sheamus as the next choice if Morrison is the champion after the Rumble.

Del Rio probably would be the winner if Smackdown got the winner due to lack of heels in Smackdown's main event unless WWE really wanted to push Swagger or Drew McIntyre but not enough time to make either of them legit main eventers before Wrestlemania.

Cena is the toughest to predict since he doesn't need the Rumble because he already has Barrett and Punk as his main event feuds but if he won, then either it means Miz stays as champion or Orton/Sheamus win the belt before Wrestlemania.

john morrison, even though he probably won't even be in the rumble, he'll still win it

HHH will come back at RR... beat the crap out of Sheamus... both will be eliminated to set up for Wrestlemania King vs. King.... Bet my testicles on it! If I am wrong I will literally cut my balls off!!!! Here is proof that they are indeed intact as we speak

I, and I so far am the only one, to have picked The Big Show. I think if Miz is champ, he would be a good opponent for him.

Hummmm... didnt think about that, He is a heavyweight contender AND he could easily win the Rumble match AND it would create a unique story line..... except for the fact that Miz is feuding with JOMO and that would be a million times more interesting to watch

I totally agree that Miz vs Morrison would be a ton better, but once Morrison loses at the Rumble, which I think he will, he isn't going to be in the title picture right away. Morrison probably makes the MITB match better...assuming there is a MITB match, which I think there will be.

I am sure Show's best days are well behind him, but fans would definitely get behind him in a match at Mania.

I think its a good title match that isn't going to end the show.

I think at least Big Show deserves his shot at the WM spot light
He has put in a lot of time to not have more titles than he has had

Mr. Nerfect 12-26-2010 01:08 AM

This is going to be a really intriguing Royal Rumble for me. Just because the WWE has been going through a weird phase were guys are being elevated seemingly at random, and there is no clear WrestleMania title match looming towards us. I would have said John Cena vs. Randy Orton, but Cena seems to be doing something with CM Punk. So that might even elevate CM Punk into the Rumble shortlist.

Triple H is probably going to return in the match, but I see him and Sheamus taking each other out, and not necessarily being indicative of The Game winning. Also, I think they should play up Triple H's vulnerability in his next program with Sheamus. Randy Orton could win, but I just don't have a clue what he is going to do for WrestleMania. He's still being kept strong, but I don't think The Miz vs. Randy Orton is going to headline. I'm still actually hopeful they do Orton vs. Jericho, but that all depends on Jericho.

Something to keep in mind: The WWE has been trying their hardest to get people to watch SmackDown!. And with no real title program there, I could see them giving the Rumble to someone on that side of the equation, to give their program "a rub" so to speak. So yes, that could mean Alberto Del Rio (who I definitely can see in the World Heavyweight Title match at WrestleMania), and that could also mean Kane, Big Show, Rey Mysterio or Christian. Depending on what they want go with for Mania.

Wade Barrett is another long-shot. What better way to re-introduce Nexus to us post-Cena feud than to have them work together to make sure one of their own wins the Rumble and locks themselves into the main event at WrestleMania XXVII? Barrett's shaped up to be the total package for the WWE, and just because he wins the Rumble doesn't mean that he'll necessarily close the show. It'd just be a way to give Nexus a little something to keep them going.

Also, all they need to do is have The Undertaker return for five minutes for a Chamber finish at Elimination Chamber, have Wade Barrett help Taker win, and then the stage is set for Taker vs. Barrett for the World Heavyweight Title. It's probably "bigger" than any other SmackDown! match they could realistically do.

The Rumble isn't what it used to be as far as setting the stage goes, as their is the Elimination Chamber and often the Rumble winner doesn't close the show anymore. So it could be virtually anyone that's going to be involved in WrestleMania in a big way.

Providence Peep 12-27-2010 05:32 PM

Anyone remember when the winner of the Royal Rumble wasn't predictable?

Mr. Nerfect 12-30-2010 11:18 PM

I'n thinking we may get Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov vs. The Usos and Daniel Bryan vs. Tyson Kidd at the PPV, too.

Mr. C 01-02-2011 03:56 PM

Brock Lesnar making a return and not winning the thing could make a bit of storyline.

Lesnar shows up, and all the guys in the ring stop trying to eliminate each other and turn to him, watching him slowly walk down the aisle. Lesnar gets in the center of the ring. All the others surround him, so they all pounce on him, and you can’t see exactly what’s going on since there are so many people, but Kofi Kingston flies back ten feet all of a sudden, then Dolph Ziggler flies back, and another, and another. Lesnar, against the mob, is still taking them out.

Eventually, Lesnar is standing in the ring with all the corpses and yells out a cry. He chucks one corpse over the top rope, but the clock ticks down.

The next person out could be The Undertaker. He gets in the ring and goes nose to nose with Lesnar for a few seconds before they just start beating each other with a lot of intensity. Undertaker throws Lesnar out of the ring. Lesnar is furious as he backtracks up the ramp. Clock counts down, and it’s Zack Ryder with Lesnar ten feet from him. Lesnar F5s Ryder off the stage and storms off to the back.

crusnik 01-02-2011 05:13 PM

how about jericho coming back being the 28th or 29th participant, thus keeping orton out of the wrestlemania main gig and having a series of slobberknockers cause orton punted his ass to make a point to sheamus( thus another feud is renewed)
