Anybody Thrilla 01-07-2011 04:35 PM

Who are your MVPs for each WWE show?

For me...

Raw - The Miz

Smackdown - Dolph Ziggler

Superstars - Curt Hawkins

NXT - I haven't watched this season.

YOUR TURN

Rammsteinmad 01-07-2011 04:38 PM

Raw - CM Punk

Smackdown - Edge, but Christian when he returns

Superstars - Trent Baretta

Lock Jaw 01-07-2011 04:39 PM

[Insert joke about MVP being released]

Raw - CM Punk
Smackdown - Alberto Del Rio
Superstars - ???
NXT - ???

Anybody Thrilla 01-07-2011 04:40 PM

Barreta and Del Rio are also excellent picks.

Anybody Thrilla 01-07-2011 04:40 PM

Oh yeah, and Punk. I haven't seen the last two Raws, but I bet they were pretty awesome from what I heard.

Eklipse 01-07-2011 04:49 PM

RAW - The Miz (Better as heel than Orton is as face. Definetley top heel on either brand)

SmackDown - Alberto Del Rio

Heels are more interesting to me than faces. Especially the ones that can get heat like these two do.

Loose Cannon 01-07-2011 04:52 PM

certianly not MVP....cause he's fired

Loose Cannon 01-07-2011 04:53 PM

SPOILER: show

Miz on Raw.

Anybody Thrilla 01-07-2011 04:56 PM

XCaliber 01-07-2011 04:57 PM

RAW - Orton

SD - Edge

Superstars - Dolph Ziggler

nXt - Conor O'Brian

Seems at least 2 people do.

RAW : The Miz
SD : The Edge
Superstars : The Tyler Reks (LOL )

Gertner 01-07-2011 05:45 PM

The IWC doesn't count at all. He's not getting good reactions and he's doing a Dean Malenko gimmick which didn't get Dean over and won't work here either. Daniel Bryan butt fucking a guy on the matt for 10 minutes isn't entertaining to 95% of the audience.

Bad mental image especially since "matt" brings up Matt Hardy lol!
But seriously, its too early to really tell. I think Bryan is okay where he is now and eventually he will rise to the top.

95% of the audience clearly does not equal 100% of the audience.

What do you mean he's not getting good reactions the guy gets a pretty consistent pop every week and I'd say considering he's meant to be a midcarder he's over just fine right now. Hell my nephew who's 8 and in WWE's current target demographic loves the guy to death so mabe you should pay more attention before making half-assed comments.

If you're a fan of actual wrestling matches, then you really should. The main event was pretty good this week too. Daniel Bryan and Mark Henry v. Tyson Kidd and Ted DiBiase. Trent Barreta and Curt Hawkins have been bringing their A games as well. They're about the closest thing you'll get to a storyline on the show, but the matches are usually solid.

Lara Emily 01-07-2011 06:31 PM

Wade Barrett. Period.

Triple Naitch 01-07-2011 06:38 PM

Raw: The Miz
SmackDown: Alberto Del Rio
Superstars: Curt Hawkins
NXT: Dolph Ziggler (Even though he's not one of the rookies, he wrestles almost every week and is hella entertaining.)

MoFo 01-07-2011 06:41 PM

Raw - Miz & Morrison (& Cole)
Smackdown - Ziggler & Rey
TNA - MCMG

The One 01-07-2011 06:49 PM

RAW - Christian when he was on RAW
SD - Christian when he comes back to SD
SS - Christian when he makes occasional appearances there
NXT - Christian isn't on it...
TNA - Isn't WWE, but Alex Shelley.

TOVO Fact: Tovo's eats donuts with a fork.

So, in a thread where we are asked who our personal MVPs are, you complain that people pick a guy that "isn't over with 95% of the audience"?

That...doesn't...make...sense!

Also, in terms of my own entertainment, I couldn't give a shit about what everyone else finds entertaining - especially the "mainstream"/target WWE audience.

Lock Jaw 01-07-2011 08:58 PM

Daniel Bryan does get decent reactions for someone who they pretty much have no storyline with and is just "there".

Schlomey 01-07-2011 09:14 PM

RAW - Punk/Miz
SD - Ziggler/ Del Rio

Aguakate 01-07-2011 09:48 PM

RAW= Cena. Can't argue with the fact he's the top guy, and very hard-working.

Smackdown= Edge. Seems like everytime Undertaker is out with an injury, he picks up the slack.

Tazz Dan 01-07-2011 10:23 PM

Raw - CM Punk
Smackdown - Edge
Superstars - Curt Hawkins
NXT - Haven't watched this season.

How can CM Punk be RAW MVP when he just came back from injury?

Anybody Thrilla 01-07-2011 10:27 PM

He was on commentary for a while.

Lock Jaw 01-07-2011 10:32 PM

Also, I took it to be CURRENT MVP.

Like, right now I look forward to CM Punk more than The Miz. A few weeks ago, when Punk was still on commentary I would have said Miz.

Same with Smackdown. If Christian weren't out on injury, he'd be my perpetual MVP.

It's a matter of personal opinion. If they were actually giving out a Raw MVP award based on some sort of credentials, then sure, Cena's up there. I'm just asking each and every one of YOU who YOUR personal MVPs are. This isn't rocket science here. Somebody can say that their MVP is the GM laptop, and that'd be perfectly fine in my book. Someone can say that the bottom ring rope is his MVP. I don't give a fuck. I'm just curious as to who people are digging the most right now.

Well, you should've asked us to say who our favorites are.

Because we're starting the new year, and when you mention MVP, you think along the lines of a whole year or something.

I didn't know WHEN he was going to show up, so it wasn't as bad as when both Swagger and The Miz's cash-ins were spoiled for me.

CSL 01-07-2011 10:51 PM

RAW - Cena
Smackdown - Rey
Superstars - Curt Hawkins (never watched an ep outside of a few matches or segments, the match I caught between him and Barretta was tidy though)
NXT - CM Punk if he's still doing commentary. Cole if not.

Triple Naitch 01-07-2011 11:00 PM

My MVPs are the guys who have put on consistantly good matches, showed great mic work, gets over with the crowd, and goes out there every week, win or lose, with the same amount of enthusiasm.

Not my favorite ANYwhere, I don't like the dude...but you've got to be objective and see that he's the top guy.

Anybody Thrilla 01-07-2011 11:26 PM

That's fine, but that wasn't the aim of this thread. I've explained the aim of this thread numerous times, and you've done nothing but bitch about the word choice. I'm sorry if it's confusing to you, but you clearly understand what I was driving at by now. Thread title is: Who are your MVPs for each WWE show?

If you have a different option good for you. I wasn't asked who Aguakate's MVP is :)

Anybody Thrilla 01-07-2011 11:32 PM

I don't like Cena OR Edge, yet I'm open-minded enough to see that they are the MVP's of their respective brands.

See how simple it is?

Anybody Thrilla 01-07-2011 11:35 PM

It would be simple if that's what this thread was supposed to be about. I can see how you would think that, but I've told you about 400 times that I'm not looking for that. I've told you what I'm looking for, and you're still nitpicking. Are you just trying to annoy me or what?

Ok, so this thread is all about a popularity contest, "Who's your favorite", we get it...

...GEEZ...

:nono:

Anybody Thrilla 01-07-2011 11:39 PM

It's not a popularity contest. I'm not tabulating the results and etching them into stone. I'm just seeing who people are into. Are you going to tell me who your favorites are, or am I going to have to fly to Puerto Rico and give you a Stone Cold Stunner?

screech 01-08-2011 12:09 AM

RAW - The Miz

Smackdown! - Dolph Ziggler

Superstars - I don't get to watch regularly, but from what I've seen Curt Hawkins has been doing good things.

NXT - Haven't been able to watch any of this season.

screech 01-08-2011 12:10 AM

Jesus Christ, Aguakate.

Somewhere in the history of professional wrestling, there has definitely been a team called The Big Bucks

Anybody Thrilla 01-08-2011 12:46 AM

And screech made them.

Anybody Thrilla 01-08-2011 12:46 AM

Possibly on Smackdown v. Raw 2008.

Evil Vito 01-08-2011 01:30 AM

<font color=goldenrod>Well, since this is just a personal opinion:

Raw - Daniel Bryan

Never seems to have a bad match. Interested in seeing if this schtick with the Bellas goes anywhere. Close second was CM Punk which is impressive considering the dude hasn't wrestled on TV in a couple months. Also gotta throw The Miz into the discussion as well, plus John Morrison from an in-ring perspective.

NXT - Derrick Bateman

Definitely the funniest rookie of Season 4, and he seems serviceable in the ring to boot. The way he plays off of Bryan's straightman character is awesome. Byron Saxton is awesome too, and I dig Brodus Clay as well.

Superstars - Zack Ryder

Again, always seems to have good matches. I really miss his weekly Raw segments with Edge. I really hope he gets drafted to SmackDown next year because I honestly feel like he could slot in as a contender for the midcard belt instead of being a comedy jobber on Raw. Curt Hawkins, Trent Barreta, William Regal, and Yoshi Tatsu were all in the mix too. Lots of quality matches on Superstars.

SmackDown - Alberto Del Rio

Del Rio's got fucking everything. He might be my favorite active superstar. He's great in the ring, can work the mic very well, has a gimmick he's perfect for, and has his own ring announcer for fuck's sake. Dolph Ziggler and "Dashing" Cody Rhodes receive an honorable mentions, and Wade Barrett could definitely be appearing on this list after he spends some time on his new show. I really wish I could put Jack Swagger on this list but they've given him nothing to do lately.</font>

Tazz Dan 01-08-2011 01:37 AM

BUT JOHN CENA IS DA MVP OF RAAAWWW!!!!!!!

Gertner 01-08-2011 02:04 AM

Everybody who says Daniel Bryan is wrong because I said so.

Gertner 01-08-2011 02:06 AM

Oh and because he's boring.

Tazz Dan 01-08-2011 05:05 AM

Your <s>mum</s> girlfriend is boring. :naughty:

jkman61494 01-08-2011 11:04 AM

Raw Face MVP: Hate to say it but it's still Cena. Seeing how the writers seemed lost a bit last week without him further proved that.

Raw Heel MVP: Absolutely Miz. Sheamus gets a solid 2nd place showing though. He's feuded and looked good against almost every top face in the past year.

Raw most overrated: Daniel Bryan. I am not part of this IWC argument, but to me, a guy cant' be an MVP when he only appears on half the Raws per month because the writers can't even come up with a feud for him.

Smackdown Face MVP: Rey Mysterio. The huge issue on this show is there aren't really many good faces, and Edge can turn hell on a dime. Therefore Rey gets it almost by default.

Smackdown Heel MVP: Del Rio. One of the better natural heels I have seen in a long time.

Smackdown most overrated: Big Show: I've never been able to take a 500 pound man seriously as a good guy. I know they had to promo a movie that made him look like a dimwit, but the guy is best served not talking much and chokeslamming people. Him taking Rey on a stretcher and slamming him into a ringpost is still my favorite badass Big Show moment. We need THAT Big Show to come back.

Yes. Yes he can! If someone tunes in to see DB then he is THEIR MVP.

FFS, sometimes I question why I come here. Just end up getting frustrated with the morons that don't understand what the discussion is even about.

Nightwing 01-08-2011 12:05 PM

Raw- Miz
Smackdown- Edge

Though I thought of Cole for RAW. You cant ignore how far hes come in one year.

Gertner 01-08-2011 12:38 PM

Daniel Bryan can't be an MVP because he got fired earlier in the year and has only reached U.S champion status.

thedamndest 01-08-2011 01:16 PM

Punk on Raw. Del Rio tied with Ziggler on SD.

Gertner 01-08-2011 05:21 PM

Also, he just lost a match on Superstars and is not a Coleminer. Plus his match with Regal was boring as fuck. You could hear crickets chirp.

What Would Kevin Do? 01-08-2011 05:39 PM

Okay, what the hell? I love Daniel Bryan, I love his style, but hey, to each their own.

With that said, Gertner is pretty much 100% spot on. I don't see how anyone could consider Daniel Bryan the MVP of Raw. Like I said, I love the guy, but he's not a main eventer, and he's not really even in an angle right now. If Daniel Bryan was injured and put out for 6 months, Raw would continue without any significant differences. If John Cena is put out for 6 months, things will change.

Tazz Dan 01-08-2011 05:45 PM

Did anybody actually get the idea of this thread? ABT wasn't asking who THE MVP of Raw was, it was more about who makes you tune in and watch the show. Your own personal MVP.
