Any thoughts? With this, it's a guarantee that Triple H will come back.

Nicky Fives 01-10-2011 06:54 PM

looks better than anything Cena has ever done and Knucklehead combined..... but that isn't saying much.....

4 knuckles up 01-10-2011 06:58 PM

That looks like utter shit. Is it a WWE films project?

total shit. gotta say though some wwe flicks have suprised me . Legendary being one of them

Jura 01-10-2011 08:06 PM

Wooo boy, James Steele better pick this up on Blu-Ray before it's all sold out.

The Show Off 01-10-2011 08:07 PM

That trailer is among the worst I've ever seen. From that trailer I couldn't tell if the film is supposed to be a comedy, a kids film, a drama or something else. I'm leaning towards a comedy...

The Pope 01-10-2011 08:10 PM

There better be a Sledgehammer being used at some point.

St. Jimmy 01-10-2011 08:25 PM

I am excited to see this.

YoungFlyFlashy 01-10-2011 08:30 PM

...and it stands, Legendary is still the only film WWE has made that is worth watching.

The One 01-10-2011 09:11 PM

That looks absolutely terrible. While we're skimming the topic, has anyone watched any of those movies with all the MMA stars in them? Those look equally as bad.

Nicky Fives 01-10-2011 09:31 PM

Legendary is hardly worth watching.....

Wishbone 01-11-2011 12:04 AM

IMHO this doesn't look as bad as some things WWE has shelled out, and considering I watched Knucklehead I'll probably rent this at some point.

Exactly. This looks like poop on a sesame seed bun. But one funny thing I noticed, is Lisa Simpson is in this movie.lol

The One 01-11-2011 12:36 AM

bigslimjj - yes, the tour guide is the same actress who voices Lisa Simpson.

Definitely looks like Mr. Nanny to me.

Rammsteinmad 01-11-2011 01:39 AM

Blatent rip off of that Vin Diesel film which I can't remember the name of right now. And that film was rubbish.

I thought it was going to basically be a "Mr Nanny type" movie, but it's kinda...weird. At times it looks like a comedy, at other times it's an action movie, and at other times, it's a drama.

...I'll still watch it, but...when the preview ended, I felt...strange.

Sixx 01-11-2011 03:42 AM

This film's got all needed to be successful.

Mind=Blown

Had no idea the squirrel voice lady was even still alive.

Jeritron 01-12-2011 02:16 AM

They definitely don't seem to have a decision on whether it's hijinx comedy or sappy Disney drama.

Probably a painful mixture of both. It certainly looks awful. I'm not the type who roots for these to fail, but this one is probably going to be the biggest flop yet.

I don't know how, but they seem to be getting worse at making movies. You'd think they'd be able to string together 1 or 2 decent kids or action movies along the lines.
I wouldn't see this, but I probably won't even have the oppurtunity. Straight to bargain bin at Wal Mart.

Jeritron 01-12-2011 02:19 AM

The thing that sucks is WWE wrestlers don't show up in other movies. At least I don't think they're allowed to, right?
Not that wrestlers had the greatest history of being in other great movies, but who knows what kind of potential funny cameos or roles these movies prohibit.
If WWE films existed when They Live was made, Roddy Piper wouldn't have been in it.

WWE should put up the cash to have Universal and John Carpenter make They Live 2. Even if it's straight to DVD it will have an audience.
Roddy Piper returns and Chris Jericho joins the cast.

there were like 8 of them in MacGruber

I don't know if that counts as a movie though

I'm waiting for WWE to greenlight Punk's idea of using all WWE wrestlers for a Cannonball Run remake.

I count it as an abortion of an idea that should have been left on the drawing board. The drawing board should have been set on fire and pissed out. The person who came up with this idea should have been fired. The guy who plays MacGruber should be executed.

That being said, there should be a MacGuyver movie...

rob11 01-18-2011 08:12 AM

I'm going to agree with the poster that said the movie doesn't know what it wants to be.

HeartBreakMan2k 01-18-2011 03:22 PM

The video actually looked like something that was going to be pretty good until it turned into The Nanny meets Spy Kids...

HHH = Hollywood Hulk Hogan

HHH = Mr. Nanny v2.0

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-25-2011 12:13 AM

In select theaters...

Will this movie make more money than Knucklehead did in the theaters? Knucklehead didn't even make the minimum to even be counted (less than 75 bucks.)

Let's go Hunter I'm sure you can make it to at least 80.

James Steele 01-25-2011 12:15 AM

I will personally go watch it every screening if that is what it takes to prove what should be gospel after Blade III...Triple H is the next Robert DeNiro.

The Naitch 01-25-2011 12:16 AM

James, make sure not to pull a Pee Wee Herman in the theatres eh? ;)

This is an epic inspirational family dramedy that deserves my full attention mentally and spiritually. I am sure I will be able to tug it with popcorn butter grease in-between screenings though.

Blitz 01-25-2011 12:37 AM

This thread is funny because James Steele portrays a huge Triple H mark, and he thinks this very awful looking movie will be amazing because Triple H is in it. Just so you guys get it.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-25-2011 01:02 AM

James it's a limited engagement. How far are you willing to travel to see the Chaperone in the theater?

Stuck seeing this trailer at RAW tonight. Looks really bad. I dont see HHH as a hardened criminal who did time. And also trying to say "I'm the chaperone!" all bad-ass like. I would laugh in his face.

Sixx 01-25-2011 03:22 AM

The beard he's wearing when leaving the prison looks silly.

YEah I thought it was an action movie when i first read the description now it looks like a shit family comedy. But it's rated PG 13 so what the fuck. It just looks like shit.

TheAdamEvansFan 01-25-2011 10:38 AM

Actually. I think it fits his character, DX, and the PG rating well.

Legendary was actually really good. So I wouldn't count this out until you watch it.

A lot of wrestling fans are too far redneck to like main stream media, but lets hope they like this movie!

The Naitch 01-26-2011 02:40 PM

this movie is what it is, a kids movie. The kids don't care if it's not critically acclaimed, stop taking this shit so seriously and let James get comfortable with the artificial butter

MIZantine Empire 02-03-2011 10:05 AM

your thoughts on "The Chaperone" ?

i love me some HHH, but this movie looked awful. Why does WWE make such bad movies? Now if you put old school Goldust as a chaperone for a bunch of kids, i think we have a dark horse for picture of the year! lol anyways just curious what you all thought on the preview from raw, or wherever else you may have seen it

#BROKEN Hasney 02-03-2011 10:12 AM

WWE Films need to make a Santino movie, then close down for good.

whiteyford 02-03-2011 10:16 AM

If it had come out a little sooner it would have been an Oscar nominated epic.....

Haze 02-03-2011 10:20 AM

Looks absolutely horrible, can't even imaging wanting to watch it for free.

Rammsteinmad 02-03-2011 10:55 AM

It's funny that with all the money WWE has they still make straight-to-DVD crapfests, and not proper big budget films.

Shadrick 02-03-2011 10:59 AM

The first trailer looked horrendous. But the second one looked alright.

I'm all for seeing the greatness that is Triple H /james steele

On Netflix I can watch Knucklehead or the John Cena film...and...I can't will myself to try.

SlickyTrickyDamon 02-03-2011 11:17 AM

Cant believe the guy from Knocked Up and Grounded for Life is in this piece of shit. I thought he had standards.

Jordan 02-03-2011 11:18 AM

I watched Knucklehead, it's really bad. This movie looks worse. Triple H looks fucking horrible with that pony tail and fake smile, what were they thinking?

Purgatory 02-03-2011 12:09 PM

It'll be free for streaming from Netflix, just as Knucklehead was. Knucklehead was horrible and I'm sure The Chaperone will be no better.

Haze 02-03-2011 12:10 PM

I just don't get how WWE films is still going at this point. It is hard to believe that they have been able to break even, much less turn a profit. I mean I can imagine the reason Vince keeps the ball rolling is to avoid losing his top stars to Hollywood much like he lost The Rock. But between WWE Films and the XFL, I think it is safe to say that Vince has pissed away more money than we collectively will ever see in our lives.

Hanso Amore 02-03-2011 12:26 PM

The beginning of the Monday night trailer looked like it was going to be like a sad drama about a dad and his family. Then it was like oh hey some funny jokes he is finding his stride with kids.

Then it just went off the fucking wall with stupidity . Honestly until the "Bad Guy" shows up, it looked like it was be a normal popcorn flick.

kareru 02-03-2011 12:31 PM

seriously they should just give up on the films, WWE are never going to be disney and they should just stick to what they know best wrestling, i mean just look at these figures, if i came to my production company with figures like this they would fire me, litterally fire me in a kiln, i thought vince was mean to be this business genius.

Nightwing 02-03-2011 05:43 PM

Looks terrible. WWE needs to stop making films. Theyre a wrestling company. WWE needs to come to terms with this.

Kris P Lettus 02-03-2011 08:17 PM

You don't understand why they do these..

When WWE became a publicly traded company, they made a shit ton of money.. Starting a production company was a way to spend some of that excess money while using their stars and filming mostly in Louisiana (because of tax incentives) is a way to "invest" that money and possibly make more..

If they break even on these films they actually make money in taxes..

Or something..

CSL 02-03-2011 08:29 PM

These are pro wrestling fans. Everything the wrestling industry produces is to please them and them alone.

TheAdamEvansFan 02-03-2011 11:55 PM

Walking Tall was a badass movie.

I thought Legendary was Cena's best work.

I just need to see stars put in obvious roles.. Triple H/Cena can't pull off a stay at home dad or comedy type kid movie..

They can do a action/history type movie...

Christian, Santino, Miz, Morrison, smaller guys can play dramas, comedies, romance, fantasy... but not these pumped up wrestlers who look the only place they spend their time is in a gym.

Afterlife 02-04-2011 10:53 AM

Because regular people don't get buff.

Especially a character that's just gotten out of what appears to be a maximum security prison, where the only thing to do is work out.

RGWhat316 02-04-2011 03:02 PM

The Condemned and See No Evil are the only WWE films I have actually liked. And with PG-WWE, there will no more of See No Evil.

James Steele 02-04-2011 03:38 PM

I have enjoyed every WWE Films production I have watched. Of course, I am not an anal movie critic or anything. I don't watch any film expecting a fucking Oscar-worthy production. However, I have never actually gone to the theater to see these films. God bless Netflix!
