The WWE Failures Thread

It's been ten years since WWE launched one of their biggest failures of all time, The XFL. (http://www.fanhouse.com/2011/01/28/x...es-of-the-xfl/ ).

<object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-mQrRfJLru0?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-mQrRfJLru0?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object>

In honor of this occasion, let's talk about WWE's failures, whether they be storylines, dropped balls, the XFL or the WBF.

Xero 01-29-2011 01:52 PM

Pretty ironic that I couldn't find an XFL-specific video of the theme, because the Brawl for All was a pretty big failure, too.

Mr. McMahon's "death" and shortly thereafter, the Benoit tribute show.

Tin is a retard. Not even a functional retard. Just a retard. He probably drools on the keys he wants to press. Or bangs them with his helmet. Either way.

Mark Henry's 17th push.

It's a shame, because all his pushes before that were great, but I feel the WWE really dropped the ball here.

BollywoodSingh 01-29-2011 03:44 PM

I say WWF vs. WCW was their biggest failure. That could have been legendary and lasted for a while. But instead, it lasted for like 4 months.

Attitude99 01-29-2011 04:01 PM

PG Era itself is a failure

Sadly I admit to have watched the entire XFL season including the bowl game.

Also bought the trading cards that stemmed from it.

*hangs head in shame*

It just didnt live up to the pre-season hype for it

Was supposed to be a little less strict on the rules but became NFL V2.0

In my opinion, giving up on Mohammed Hassan and never bringing him back, he would be GOLD!

Wrestlemania 11 is another WWE Fail in my opinion.

Yes it is, AKA Meat, managed by PMS (Pretty Mean Sisters)

Goldberg's run in the WWE

The InVasion angle (I seriously had the biggest mark out rush the night that Heyman and his ECW crew arrived on RAW that I've maybe ever had watching wrestling... and then Stephanie McMahon came out as the leader of ECW, and I knew this was going to become all about the McMahons)

Chris Jericho's Undisputed Champion storyline leading up to WrestleMania X-8

The return of ECW

The Cruiserweight Division

Taz singing along with Ernest "The Cat" Miller's theme is the best thing in this thread.

CSL 01-30-2011 01:52 AM

I laugh every time I see that and tend to wind up singing that song for the next hour.

AKin3D 01-30-2011 04:04 AM

Did Test ever get revenge for Stephanie turning on him? All I can remember is one minutes they're about to get married and HHH comes out with his vid and the next thing is the McMahon-Helmsley Era has started, and Test is tagging with Albert and has Trish as there manager.

I vividly remember a storyline where they fucked him to the point of exhaustion and forced him to wrestle despite having no energy or stamina left.

Mr. Nerfect 01-30-2011 09:46 AM

Test and Randy Orton's aborted pushes. Orton in 2004, with the horrible face run. He's of course landed on his feet, but man, the WWE really dropped the ball on creating a new star there.

Matt Hardy and Christian circa 2005, too, although I get tired of saying it.

Your right, now that you mention it, I do remember that he was suppose to win the belt at WM X, but was punished for showing up late and unprepared. Good catch.:y:

That whole 'Luger getting drunk', being punished, supposed to win the belt at WMX etc was bollocks, Luger himself said he knew months beforehand he wouldn't be getting the title.

Falls into the category of "ironic entrance music", like Shelton Benjamin, or Elijah Burke. I barely remember him, and that's only after this thread, in complete spite of the first thing that my TV yelled at me before he came rolling out on his bike like Taker 2.0.

When he lost, didn't they somehow punish him afterwards despite it being THEIR fault?
