I wanted to make a thread about gimmicks I’d like to see used again. Then I was thinking of making a thread about wrestlers I wanted to see come back to WWE, so I decided to combine them into one thread for things that used to exist that should be brought back.

European title. Have something for the midcarders to fight for. Something like that might make a feud interesting.

Jim Ross. Have him call the Pay-Per-Views. It would help add prestige to the Pay-Per-Views to have the best of all time calling them.

John Bradshaw Layfield as General Manager of RAW. I just want the SOB back on my screen.

A Europen or TV title defended on TV weekly by a lower midcarder could be a good thing. Especially for Superstars.

The hardcore title and more hardcore wrestling.

Yes I realize WWE is all PG now so they wont do it, but its the best thing that needs to return. We need some ultra violent matches back in the WWE and not just garbage can lid matches for the hardcore title but some really sick stuff if ya know what im sayin.

Tag team division.

It feels like we've been getting the same Marella/Kozlov VS Nexus match every week for the last few months.

You still have Alex Riley, Evan Bourne, Mark Henry, Primo, William Regal, Yoshi Tatsu, and Zack Ryder, so giving them a belt exclusively for them could help create a story for them or at least give them something to do.

And unless the females have plenty of time to work matches and start getting taken seriously, then no belt.

Wouldn't you prefer to see those guys elevated to IC/US Title level instead of being given what is basically a participation ribon?

I think we all do. But surely having guys chasing something is better than than just kind of making up numbers. Back in the day a lot of guys went from the European title to IC title to WWE championship. Good natural progression.

You don't have to frequent TPWW, or even the IWC, much to know that the tag division definitely needs bringing back.

Instead of something stating obvious like blood and chairshots, I'll go for managers. We haven't seen a really good manager for some time, and some guys in the WWE could really benefit from one at the moment.

Yeah, a proper manager who has a RANGE of clients, rather than just one. Sure, we've had Armando Estrada, and Paul Heyman come in and be the mouthpiece for guys, but we need a proper Heenan type character!

YES! This always felt natural and now the card status' and titles feel random, sloppy and unorganized. There's no structure or importance to anything anymore, guys just go from one feud to the next with almost no reasoning behind it.

And Wargames. Main event of Survivor Series if not a PPV of its own, it doesnt take Noid to book a decent wargames match!

I for one think the "structure" of the WWE is just fine...the title scene, gimmick matches, etc. Adding even something as cool as War Games wouldn't do wonders so much as create an extra gimmick PPV, which at best will look like a love child of the Royal Rumble and the HIAC match to a lot of today's viewers.

What the WWE needs to bring back is developing more storylines/feuds for their undercard. Doing that will create more compelling TV and elevate guys organically, because the fans will be given a reason to give a shit about guys.

Actually, I could see them benefiting from another belt. It opens up potential for more feuds. It also means better TV for all of us because guys like Riley, Bourne, and Henry will have to step it up that much more. What can it hurt seeing a wrestler defend his title every week on Superstars to bring some attention to the show?

Riley, Bourne, Henry, or anyone else could be built up to hold the United States Championship, but the WWE doesn’t see them as good or marketable enough to hold it.

War Games, managers, blood, hardcore matches, epic surprises, competition between two or more companies, legit stables and bring back some of the old schoolers and put them in a position to mentor the younger guys so that the entire game doesnt change over the next decade and some tradition is kept with the wrestling business...

Tag Wrestling sucks. It's dead because they want it dead.

Bring back Competition. A company that competes will WWE will only make WWE better. There has to be SOME promotion out there somewhere with the capability to get a Monday Night show to go against Raw.

No brand split, a better tag team division, matches on Raw/SD that last more than 2¾ minutes. I also agree on the European Championship, especially as there are more and more wrestlers from Europe, or at least billed as from Europe... Mason Ryan (Wales), Wade Barrett, William Regal (England), Drew McIntyre (Scotland), Finlay (Northern Ireland... is he still wrestling), Sheamus (Republic of Ireland), Vladimir Kozlov (Russia), Santino (Italy). Granted, most of these guys are from the British Isles, and a European Title run would really demote the likes of Sheamus, but you get what I mean.

Cyber Sunday.

With all the horrible gimmick PPVs they do (TLC, Extreme Rules, Fatal 4 Way, Hell In A Cell) they disposed of the one PPV with a gimmick that was different and didn't run a concept match into the ground.
