THE DESTRUCTION PRINCE DEBUTS!!!

Today marked the pro wrestling debut of Daichi Hashimoto. He is the son of the late, great Shinya Hashimoto.

Nark Order 03-06-2011 06:06 PM

What? Shut up.

#BROKEN Hasney 03-06-2011 06:07 PM

I bet he can't make a 3 egg omelette in under 3 minutes.

DLVH84 03-06-2011 06:08 PM

Here's a photo of the kid...

2nd consecutive disappointing thread in the wrestling forum. I clearly expected a good sock account, especially with OCW having set the standard for this week.

No. His jacket was baggy.

Your obsession with socks leads me to believe that you may in fact be a sock.

VSG 03-06-2011 06:12 PM

Well TPWW is at that stage where sock accounts make/break it as far as entertainment goes. A shame OCW was shut down so early.

Too bad. Japs would definitely be the ones to bring back the Fanny Pack.

Bigging up sock accounts. How very... Suspicious.

VSG 03-06-2011 06:18 PM

Really? You, who can see within seconds that I am not a sock, are trying to stir things up here? Don't waste your time, "bro".

DLVH84 03-06-2011 06:18 PM

Here's photos of his debut...

Let him get those awesome pants the other guy is wearing, and a fanny pack to go with it, and I will be a fan.

Testicle 03-06-2011 06:23 PM

Chono is quite possibly the most awesome person ever.

Fun fact: Chono's ring gear is designed by his smoking hot German wife.

VSG 03-06-2011 06:27 PM

That other guy, Chono, was also a member of the nWo and a former NWA heavyweight champ. Screw the kid, this thread should be about that Chono guy.

DLVH84 03-06-2011 06:27 PM

Look, Chono is like an uncle to this kid. Give Daichi some time, and he'll be as good as his father was.

VSG 03-06-2011 06:29 PM

Now where did his dad come from? Did he also have awesome pants/hot german wife?

DLVH84 03-06-2011 06:31 PM

No. If you looked at the photos I posted carefully, Shinya left behind a wife and two daughters alongside Daichi.

VSG 03-06-2011 06:33 PM

And what was so great about the late Shinya guy?

He was the founder of Pro Wrestling ZERO1, the promotion his son now wrestles for.

He was the longest-reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion in history (his longest reign lasted from April 29, 1996 to August 31, 1997).

He was a former NWA World Champion.

He, Keiji Mutoh (The Great Muta), and Masahiro Chono formed The Three Musketeers in July 1988, as they were also in the Class of 1984 of the NJPW Dojo. The three would become the driving force of New Japan Pro Wrestling in the 1990s, surpassing Antonio Inoki, Tatsumi Fujinami, and Riki Choshu, who dominated the 1980s.

VSG 03-06-2011 06:41 PM

Hey I recognized a few names from Jericho and Foley's books :D

In all seriousness, Shinya Hashimoto was probably one of the most badass wrestlers of all time.

Hanso Amore 03-06-2011 06:44 PM

Fucking lame jap shit. Get a fucking life.

Fignuts 03-06-2011 06:44 PM

Also, are Chono's pants inflatable or something?

Hanso Amore 03-06-2011 06:46 PM

In all seriousness, Im not a huge Japanese fan, but I know enough, and never heard of this guy. How is he that great? I know all the great Japanese Wrestlers.

Stan Hansen. Vader. Hulk Hogan. Scott Norton. No SHinya.

Exactly. Because of his hard kicks and violent matches, he's often compared to Toshiaki Kawada. And he was really one of the few pro wrestlers that could do very well in an MMA environment.

Hey, I don't get trannys, but I don't go around putting down your passion for them.

CSL 03-06-2011 06:54 PM

lol what, his first match was against Chono and featured Muta? Alright for some.

CSL 03-06-2011 06:54 PM

Still, fuck the Japs though.

Fignuts 03-06-2011 06:57 PM

It's not all dangerous head droping nonsense and barbed wire nonsense you know, CSL.

New Japan has consistently maintained their own style, focused more on psychology and mat wrestling.

It's really only 90's all japan and noah which focuses on trying to kill one another by crushing each other's spines.

Supreme Olajuwon 03-06-2011 07:02 PM

Kid needs to hit the gym. Looks soft as shit.

Also, judging by that boot print on his face, I'd say Japan is still pretty stiff.

Exactly. NJPW and ZERO1 are Strong Style, while AJPW and NOAH are Kings Road, althought NOAH's version is modified as Ark Style.

Yeah I know it's not all, but the most publicized stuff is head drops and kicking the fuck out of each other, me saying fuck the Japs is just broad stroking. It's just not pro wrestling. Although that's not even really my problem, it's a different culture, wrestling is almost treated legit over there so at least they have a something resembling a reason for it, if they literally want to kill each other, that's fine. It's just the influence it has on the idiots that think that's how it really should be across the rest of the world and go out and do the same kind of shit in front of 30 people while wearing baggy pleathers and kick pads.

Fignuts 03-06-2011 07:10 PM

I can certainly understand why CSL, a wrestler himself, would look down on AJ and NOAH. Instead of making things look like they hurt, they just fucking hurt eachother.

But I am not a wrestler. And it's not me getting hurt, so hey it's still entertaining to me.

Hanso Amore 03-06-2011 07:14 PM

this kid reminds me of a young Erik Watts.

Hanso Amore 03-06-2011 07:16 PM

If he added some aerial arsenal he could be the next Greg Gagne!

Fignuts 03-06-2011 07:22 PM

I like Scott Norton. He's just not that big a deal.

Hanso Amore 03-06-2011 07:25 PM

He is like the 2nd Greatest Japanese Wrestler ever.

Hanso Amore 03-06-2011 07:26 PM

Right behind Rellik.

Grablot 03-06-2011 07:29 PM

Who?

lol

(more like who cares hehehe(

St. Jimmy 03-06-2011 07:33 PM

This thread sums up the Wrestling Forum perfectly.

VSG 03-06-2011 07:51 PM

It's just missing a random picture meme from you though.

Sixx 03-06-2011 07:55 PM

All Japs look the same anyway.

Yes, dressing like a punk-rocker and avoiding the gym is what wrestling is really about, right CSL?

Seth82 03-06-2011 09:03 PM

his father Shinya was fucking awesome

Here's hoping his son can live up to his dad's name

Worked for Shannon Moore.

CSL 03-06-2011 09:29 PM

Really interested to hear his opinions or whatever he's trying to put across here.

Hanso Amore 03-06-2011 11:13 PM

Scott Norton kept Japanese wrestling afloat. Without him they would have had to sold out to outside influences.

Hanso Amore 03-06-2011 11:14 PM

FOR REAL. Had he not taken the title, they would have had to sold to a dutch owner that made his money in cosmetics.
