If Miz retains I guess this will all make sense somehow
Yeah I'm just wondering what purpose any of this (Rock/Cena thing) could serve then I realized if Miz beat Cena and retained at Wrestlemania the whole thing would make perfect sense.
Miz is saying he's going to beat Cena and The Rock at wrestlemania. You know if he beats Cena it will be pretty lol because then he'll go on about how he told the world he would beat them both and did it. Then it would make the point of this whole thing irrelevant. He would be the one getting the rub from The Rock, not Cena. I dunno, I think it could happen. I have to admit my first thought of Miz is that he would probably not even win cashing in his MITB. I'm not going to cry if he doesn't retain but I think that's what I'm pulling for. But whoever ends up with the title, let's restore some credibility to these belts and the people who carry them. The fact that Shamus was WWE champion not long ago and is now like oh what's up makr henry, np just pin me on raw, lol wow. |
The Miz needs the rub a lot more than Cena does. I say let him roll. He's over. He's entertaining. They might as well solidify him as a REAL main eventer.
I do wonder how The Rock is going to be involved in all of this, though. Surely they won't have TWO guest referee matches, will they? |
Honestly, if you buy into the hype that things may be returning to PG-13, it would make pretty good sense to have The Miz retain. It would be a rebirth of sorts for the product to let people know that the "same old shit" is just that...old.

Sorry to make so many consecutive posts, but I just wanted to add that I'm loving this program right now. I don't really know the endgame, but I'm enjoying the hell out of it.
|
I don't think King/Cole is really a match, more off something entertaining to put on between HHH/Undertaker and the world championship matches. (With the Divas match being the other filler)
|
Vince is really behind the Miz as a future star for the company and this push to help him become it.
If Cena looses, he would have the excuse that he was busy with The Rock and underestimated the Miz while the Miz can continue in his self-gloating saying how he did what nobody could do in a single match against Cena at Mania. It would make no sense for Cena to get the rub from The Rock when their "feud" started from a real incident and became a bit personal. Only way that could occur is if Rock and Cena hugged or shook hands in the ring but then that would contradict their whole promos leading up to Mania. |
He has to lose mania.
|
Cena wins and overcomes the odds which include The Rock and an unexpected volcanic eruption in the ring during the match.
|
Miz wins.
Becomes a credible champion. Loses it at Bragging Rights. |
Miz was brilliant on Raw this week. I hope he retains, he's a great heel champion.

This is a idea I read about though I dunno if WWE wants to go with it.
Cena loses at mania and The Rock (he might lay out Miz or whatever and then maybe delivers a People's Elbow etc) comes out and celebrates with the fans or whatever. Cena's still out there though...and then suddenly he attacks the Rock and lays him out and assaults him, maybe makes him bleed, KO's him, etc. Then Cena goes on to blame Rocky for making him lose at Mania and trashes him and says that he got rid of everyone's favorite wwe superstar, thus finally turning heel since the Nexus deal fizzled out. All this could lead up to a confrontation at WWE Summerslam...and so on... |

I know it don't really matter much anymore more but i still wish Miz had lost to Lawler at EC and then beat the living shit out of him on the following raw to win the title back, I know that some say that a quick title switch like that would take some of the credibility away from the title but it gets Miz over as a badass when he has to be.
As far as Mania goes I'd love for Miz to retain and beat Cena clean but that ain't gonna happen. Cena Wins. |

Hate it. The Miz gets completely shit on here. |

As much as I love Miz, I dont think anyone is really convinced about him being 'a main eventer'. Dunno wat it is, but cant see him ending Mania as champ.
Plus how many times do heels retain/win at Mania? Its usaually the face winning to 'send everyone home happy'. |

If Miz loses, we riot.....

Agreed.

Indeed.
I've been pulling for a Miz win at Mania. Mainly to send the message that Miz's "generation" are on par with Cena's "generation" (Orton, Batista) etc. As stated in this very thread, people don't yet "buy" Miz as a legit champ. A win over Cena at Mania might help with that. Get your "happy ending" somewhere else. If they plan on having Del Rio beat Edge, then put Taker v HHH on last. Although a Taker win isn't a massive happy ending (especially for the likes of James Steele) it should do the job. |
I think Taker/Trips will be last.

WWE Title Miz (c) v Cena (Ref: The Rock) World Title Edge (c) v Del Rio (Ref: Christian) Taker v HHH (Ref: Shawn Michaels) Lawler v King (Ref: Steve Austin) Diva's Title What's Her Name v That Other Girl (Ref: Trish Stratus) Nexus v Corre (Ref: Kevin Nash) etc. |
That Lawler v. King match should be pretty good.
|
Cena is more tolerable than Miz in the ring but Miz is more interesting on the mic. I don't really care who wins.

I think too much is being read into it. The Rock and Cena have natural heat and large fanbases that feed into it.
It's good hype for the match and event in general. However Miz and Cena come out of it, they come out of it. |
I figured it all out this morning at work while I was bored. Rock screws over Miz at WM and costs him the belt. Cena and the Rock hug in the ring and get a huge pop, the Miz cries in the corner and they na-na-na him back to the locker room. Will lead to a Rock/Miz thing that wont go anywhere.
Just a really elaborate set up. When the Rock hits the ring everyone will think Cena's gonna get screwed and then WHAM!..and it'll be shocking to everyone but me and anyone who reads this. |
|
Concievably Cena and Rock could share a manufactured torch passing moment.
They could also trade blows, and leave the tension open ended. More likely, I think both Miz and Cena will end up on the wrong end of a Rock finisher. Then I think Miz will squeak out with a win and the Cena/Rock rumors will carry strong into Summerslam or Wrestlemania in Miami next year. Even if an actual match is unlikely, why not keep the seed there? There's also the chance of a pre-emptive strike by Cena on Rock. That would be a heel turn, for the most part, though. So I don't see that happening unless Rock is going to hang around for the Summer. I'm more than happy with the possibilities and dynamics of this match, and I think all 3 will make for a really entertaining match. I'm not too concerned with who wins. Obviously, I think The Miz could use it more, though. It'd be nice to see him get out of there with the strap. I actually love the idea of the dastardly and heelish Miz escaping with his title, looking back on what Cena is doing to Rock, or vice versa, and he himself being shocked by the level of heeldom on display. |
The Lawler-Cole match is going to be a total blast, I think. A clusterfuck, but that's really what it should be. The more gags and whistles added the better at this point.
Only WWE can make a 5 star clusterfuck, and Mania is the place to do it. |
Heidenreich should make a surprise one night return and Rape Cole.
or not. |
At one point Cole should be standing over King unbuckling his belt with an eager face, and Heidenreich's musis should hit, as the camera zooms in on his shocked and terrified face.

That, and the inevitable "fly-in" of Danielson on a hanglider holding a giant ACME brand bomb, blasting his entrance theme to the heavens.
|
|
He should also wear a Sting mask at first, for the lulz, and then take it off before he jumps to flight.
|
I hope they turn Miz vs Cena into a Lumberock match. Get it?

The Rock and Cena could very easily have a moment of respect, but I think that's the coward's way out. As long as Cena and The Rock hate each other, people are going to be on edge for a Rock/Cena match -- regardless of its likelihood. With WrestleMania in Miami, and The Undertaker likely being 19-0, I can very easily see the main event of that show being The Undertaker vs. John Cena with The Rock as Special Guest Referee. So yeah, Cena could win, and have that one imperfect blip on his WrestleMania record from WrestleMania XXIV, or he could streamroll over Miz, who will recover, and things are just the same. Personally, if I were booking, I'd go with The Rock hitting Cena with a Rock Bottom, The Miz capitalising to retain, and Cena wanting a match with The Rock -- which is eventually forgotten, until The Rock's schedule allows him to return and continue to antagonise Cena. |
A finish could be a rock bottom on Cena followed by a rock bottom on The Miz who is right next to Cena, as Miz hits the mat his arm ends up on top of Cena 1,2,3
|
I dunno. Seems like a pretty shitty finish to a Mania title match.

I feel like Triple H is going to end the streak and none of this will matter in comparison.
|
Ever since after the RR Miz seems to have all the momentum which makes me worry that he will end up losing but I wouldn't be suprised if Cena gets a fluke victory over him thanks to The Rock and they continue the feud from there.

As far as this Rock Vs. Cena Vs. Miz thing goes. I would personally like to see Miz retain. There are a few factors to consider: 1: The Rock and his schedule. Let's just suppose that Rock is actually 'free' for now - let's say he's having a 1 year sabbatical from Hollywood. That'd be great. If he doesn't then him being involved in an actual feud (other than baiting for a Cena Vs. Rock match next year) is highly doubtful. 2: Mania as the place to 'settle' things. Of course things don't always get settled at Mania. There's even been PPVs allowing people to get even from Mania. However for this match is would seem that there needs to be a finish - the obvious one being Cena winning with Rock hugging him. It could however also be the reverse - Miz wins with an assist from Rock, building a Cena Vs. Rock feud (supposing Rock has time), and allowing Miz and the championship to be involved elsewhere. 3: Suppose we do have a crappy finish (non closure finish). Rock lays both men out and either one wins. That would allow the feud to continue. If Cena wins, Miz would call him out, Cena would admit that the win was messy and *BAM* PPV match! If Miz wins Cena would hound him for retaining via the cowards way out, eventually Miz accepting a match at the next PPV. 4: There is a problem. Let's say Miz wins, and the Rock doesn't have time for a full feud with Cena. With Miz as Champ and Cena not really having much reason to feud with him (barring the third option), what would Cena do? Feud with the Nexus? Somehow get a feud with Orton? Become a street performer? Anyway - I hope Miz will win, I hope it'll be somewhat clean and I hope that the option that is available to us is #4 with a Rock able to actually feud - not necessarily fight with Cena (Rock could simply work by proxy - becoming a stable heel leader, maybe even in concert with Cole... |
With two major championships in the company, The Miz is NOT a lock to lose the match like people seem to want to say.
Cena was a lock to win the title from in the Orton/HHH match two years ago and Orton retained. Why? Because there was another main event title on the line where the face could go over. That's what sucks about having two main event titles but also, kinda helps out in a way. As long as you've got one main event that can finish the show on a happy ending, nothing is for sure. |
Quote:
Also, there is absolutely no way that Cena vs. Miz isn't the main event to close the show, for the simple fact that The Rock will be somehow involved. The only REAL option of closing the show with a feel-good moment would be Taker vs. Triple H closing. And i suppose that is a possibility, but I'm not too sure. |
The problem being of course that you kinda want the heel to win in both cases...

I really just kinda wanna see the Miz hit a finale on both of them and pin Cena or something. Then you have your hulk hogan in a purple t-shirt, Rock can go back to working on movies and miz actually gets something out of this.
I mean Miz is the only one here with anything to gain and it's really weird to say it, loving Rock and hating Cena but this angle isn't going to really do anything for anyone unless Miz wins. |
Other than entertain the fans and make some serious money. I'd argue that Miz gets a rub from even being in a main event with Rock and Cena, or on a poster with them.
Though I absolutely would like to see him come out on top, as I do agree he needs it most. But I don't think every decision the WWE makes always needs to be a chess move. They're doing just fine with Miz and if they decide to have him lose and just go with the happy ending, they will still be making out fine. I still see that as a winning situation for all 3 involved, and the fans/WWE's bankroll. |
Agreed.
But they do have the chance to make TWO huge stars with this situation. A win for The Miz would cement him as a top line heel. Then, whoever eventualy beats him should be a huge deal. Say someone like Kofi eventually topples him. |
I am not siding with anyone for this bout since I have respect for both the athletes. But it would be an amazing boost to the Miz's career if he goes on to defeat Cena at Mania.
And for some odd reason, I really hope that Edge versus Alberto Del Rio goes on to main event the night since both of them are solid performers in the ring and Alberto Del Rio won the 40 man Royal Rumble match. |
Are you really back on this thing about the Rumble winner closing the night? I remember there was no getting through to you about that last year.
|
I am pretty sure that the WWE Championship match will go last owing to Cena and The Rock. But there is no harm in having a little hope.
|
Rockbottom to Cena, Miz for the cover.
The Rock is supposed to be on the Raw after 'Mania. Which leads me to believe that he will make some sort of impact at 'Mania other then just being, the Special Guest Host. |
If Miz wins, I'll be happy.
