For you, what was the most recent HOLY SHIT moment you remember from RAW and SD?

Like holy shit I can't believe what I'm seeing right now

Was it Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart burying the hatchet on RAW last year?

John Cena being drafted to RAW in 2005?

Gee, I can't think of one. I guess the closest mark out moment was probably The Rock coming back just now. But then again, I kinda knew it was gonna happen, so I wouldn't count that really.

Just gonna keep it for RAW and SD. If you wanna list holy shit moments from PPVs, go ahead

Xero 04-20-2011 11:51 PM

The Nexus' debut was the last real "holy shit, WTF is going on!?" moment for me. There have been mark out moments since (Rock's return, Cena vs. Rock being made), but none that really equal Nexus tearing shit up on RAW.

2010 was full of mark out moments, really. Best year in a long time.

I'd have to agree with my good man Xero.

SuperSlim 04-20-2011 11:58 PM

Nexus when they were destroying everything that first night, Danielson spitting on Cena before kicking him... that was a HOLY SHIT! moment. Before that I'd say the last one was when Big Show and Brock broke the ring.

Asmo 04-21-2011 12:06 AM

Randy Orton's epic RKO-counter to Evan Bourne's Airbourne SSP. That was a legit "Holy Shit" moment, made even better by Orton's mad-fuck-i-did-it celebration fist pumps. That's the first thought that came to mind.

JimmyMess 04-21-2011 12:26 AM

Aside from these. How recent do you mean?

In the last year... I side with the previous posters...

- The Rock returns
- Randy Orton rKo-counter on Evan Bourne

I add...

- Stone Cold showing flashes of yesteryear by hitting all of his trademark spots on Alex Riley in front of the Tough Enough crew (the Thesz Press with punches/stomping a mudhole with middle finger/Stunner/toss out)
- Kevin Nash's surprise appearance at the Rumble (HUGE markout moment)

In terms of negative
- Sudden Edge retirement I actually said "holy shit" out loud so it counts.

And a staple of total holy shit moments from a few years back....

Morrison doing the starship pain through a table against the miz.

Anybody Thrilla 04-21-2011 12:55 AM

The Miz winning the WWE title.

Volare 04-21-2011 01:44 AM

Honestly, The Rock coming back this year. I got a lucky break instead of the rest of my forum brethren.

I was away from the comp and TPWW for the whole weekend and the monday night of RAW. I just turned on RAW without knowing of any spoilers, rumors or any of that to actually have an old school mark out moment when Rock came back. I was loud enough my girlfriend told me shut up.

whiteyford 04-21-2011 02:15 AM

The bump Baretta took against McIntyre on smackdown, dive over the top rope couple months ago i think, expected him to get caught by Drew not the floor.

GD 04-21-2011 03:06 AM

1. Brock Lesnar - Big Show superplex.
2. Eddie Guerrero's luchador friend being reviled as Kurt Angle.
3. Mick Foley winning the WWE Championship for the first time.
4. The Great Khali winning the World Heavyweight title on Smackdown :shifty:
5. Rey Mysterio pinning Shawn Michaels on Raw.

XL 04-21-2011 04:08 AM

Most recent HOLY SHIT moment?

This past week when Dolph Ziggler debuted his new haircut.

Rammsteinmad 04-21-2011 06:52 AM

Probably after Wrestlemania 27, when I thought to myself 'holy shit that was awful'.

The Jayman 04-21-2011 08:31 AM

Christian returning to the WWE in 2009

I do realize it was on ECW but it was a legit "HOLY SHIT!"

Fox 04-21-2011 08:37 AM

John Cena's 5 star match he had on RAW awhile ago.... oh wait, that never happened.

I rarely watch Raw as it's happening since my place doesn't get cable. But I was watching when The Rock made his return, and I marked out like a 6 year old. I think the Nexus invasion was the more clever, interesting moment of the year, and when I did finally see it I was excited to see what was going to happen next. But I saw it after the IWC blew up, so it didn't have the surprise of The Rock's return for me.

Wolfpack423 04-21-2011 11:26 AM

There's been alot of holy shit moments over the years, this year alone has had several, but the most recent one for me was on RAW from this week. It wasn't necessarily a move or anything, but R-Truth actually had a memorable segment. Him taking the cigarette and lighting up and blowing it in Morrison's face definitely was interesting to see especially since it definitely blurred the lines of PG. He'll probably be added to the triple threat, though I like how the match is currently. I am not an R-Truth fan; I just enjoyed something he did for once and I might actually start liking him if he keeps going in this direction. He isn't bad in the ring. I think he is terrible on the mic because sometimes I can't understand what he's saying but otherwise this is a great way to take his character and there could be a nice mini feud with him and Cena so he has something to do for a while as well.

Rammsteinmad 04-21-2011 11:42 AM

Wow that Trent Baretta bump is nasty. Shows how serious some people can be about making it in the WWE.

whiteyford 04-21-2011 11:50 AM

He'll probably get cut in the spring though:'(

HBPunk 04-21-2011 12:16 PM

i think trent will make it, like jomo's younger brother

Logan 04-22-2011 01:12 AM

The most recent one for me was already mentioned, but a recent one that hasnt been mentioned, for me, was when did a SCM counter to w.e springboard move Shelton Benjamin was going to do on Raw. When I saw that I thought shelton might be injured.

Wouldn't have been comfortable but it looked pretty perfect to me. Guy is a fucking pro, couldn't have landed sweeter, deserves a shit ton of credit.

DLVH84 04-22-2011 04:26 PM

Rhino goring Chris Jericho through the original SmackDown! set.

Mr. Nerfect 04-22-2011 04:32 PM

John Morrison at the Royal Rumble legitimately made me think "HOLY SHIT!"

EDIT: Actually read the thread and realised we're talking about RAW or SmackDown!. In that case, Nexus.

Mercury Bullet 04-22-2011 06:25 PM

The Rock...

But then again thats about the only thing I've watched in years...

When Cole brought up the death of King's mother in a promo I was pretty much like "Holy Shit, didn't think they'd go there".

Aguakate 04-23-2011 12:37 PM

...I'm gonna go with...January 4th 2010...Shawn and Bret in the WWE, in the same ring, talking to each other.

El Fangel 04-23-2011 12:46 PM

Rock returning to save WWE.

That's a great moment there. At least Shawn and Bret now can coexist.

Oh wow! You've surpassed yourself there.

R-Truth's heel turn in a loooooooong time.

Cody Rhodes paper bag treatment is soooo reminiscent of Beautiful People in TNA's heel promo of the same manner.. Cleansing the world, one ugly person at a time. :p

CM Punk mocking Jeff Hardy's entrance pose.. Same with Cody mocking Mysterio's entrance mask theme too. :p

Raven Reaper 04-24-2011 09:05 PM

Forgot to add:

Beth Phoenix able to carry Mickie and Melina on her back to get the double back breaker!!!

And she even twisted Melina's leg that her foot even touched the back of her head!!! While on the mat too!!

FUCKING OUCH!! I'll never forget that. Oh and she joined Royal Rumble 2010 I think. :p

Cole will go anywhere for cheap heat trust me. Before long he will be coming out with "your moms so fat..." comments. I knew they would go there, didn't Cole disrespect Lawlers father too?

Coles character is a total hypocrite. He pisses me off so damn much.

M-A-G 04-25-2011 01:56 PM

Bret and Shawn making up, The Nexus' arrival, and the Rock/Cena encounters have all been tremendous touches of awesomeness in my book.

You know it's a work right? And that you're supposed to dislike Cole?

Of course I do but he spoils 2 shows and not just 1. I can understand the change in his character, he's more argumentitive and he's trying to push peoples buttons to hate him more I get that. I just think it's all a bit forced that's all, it's too predictable to me.

I don't dislike Cole because he's a heel and because he's doing a good job of making me hate him I hate this whole approach to mouthing off during matches and not calling the action. I don't recall the likes of Bobby Heenan mouthing off about themselves for the whole show I just don't like the concept Heenan at least helped people get over and added to the show. Even the likes of JBL as a heel called the action, hyped storylines up in the right way and was fairly neutral when it came to discussions on air with the other commentators yes he became volatile sometimes when he truly believed in something but it was never the full show just snippets here and there. He never got in the way by spoiling the show like Cole does that's for sure. Cole helps some of the heels get over but again it's predictable who he sides with when the commentators have arguements. It just never ends you know what he is going to say before he opens his mouth 99% of the time, he just comes across as a hypocrite to me. Half the time his arguements don't even make sense.

He just makes me want to change the channel, it's not the right kind of hate to generate. It could be because he spoils the format of the show.

Who knows but it's a different kind of hate at least to me maybe I am just sensitive to it. Oh and what makes it worse is he's on every damn show! It's like the Michael Cole show lately.

XL 04-25-2011 05:17 PM

I like how you blame Cole for all that. As if he doesn't have the go ahead to do it.

If Vince thought he was oing over the tp I'm sure he'd curb him.

XL 04-25-2011 05:23 PM

And oh so very recent too!

RiX1024 04-26-2011 05:31 AM

Nexus' debut, Edge's retirement, The Rock's comeback and Michael Cole's heel antics.
