Pretty much itching to see what Nintendo's been cooking. And hopefully SoulCalibur 5 gets revealed by then if not this month.
|
Microsoft
Debut of the next Nintendo console (RUMOR) Gears of War 3
|
Yeah Project Cafe is obvs what I'm most interested in. New COD, GTAV and RDR2 would be hot though.
|
Fixed the mistake.
Did a copy and paste from Nintendo's section and forgot to replace the names. |
It's all good, just messing with you :p
|
Looking forward to the whole thing :), wondering what Microsoft will pull out of the bag...
Also interesting in seeing Sony's approach after all the PSN shitness. |
New Rockstar games and Fifa is all I care about here.
|
If Kinect doesn't get a presence Microsoft gets an automatic letter grade deduction from whatever I will give them.
Making me sit through SKITTLES. |
NOT THE DREADED KALYX GRADE REDUCTION. HOW WOULD THEY COPE?!
|
By announcing a new Halo.
|
I think you mis-typed "fresh IP". There's no a, l or o in it.
|
I wanna hear it all, but as I only have the 360 atm, I'd rather hear about what I'm most likely to play.

Added in a few more games to the list with Pikmin 3 and Endless Ocean 3 from Nintendo (Pikmin 3 guaranteed to be shown), a new Brothers in Arms from Gearbox, and more stuff on the new Gotham City Impostors game from Warner Bros.
Also rumored is Nintendo will be launching a bunch of new game series with the next Nintendo. Pikmin 3 and the next Super Mario Bros would be the only existing series to get the launch treatment. A few Kinect games were also added: Kinect Sports 2 and Dance Central 2, and an unannounced game from Rare (not Kinect Sports) |
Valve sent out a press release saying they will not be showing off any titles (either new or in development) at E3 but also didn't specifically mention if they will also not be going to E3.
Unless Valve is planning a surprise secret announcement like last year, no chance at HL2: Episode 3 or anything else will be shown. http://www.giantbomb.com/news/son-of...es-at-e3/3212/ |

Konani releases the times and places their Pre-E3 conferences will be taking place. Unlike everyone else using June 6-9 for their conferences, Konami is doing their conference on June 2.
Quote:
|
I actually get the honor of going there this year.
|
Lucky bastard.
|
Probably won't be on during the conferences doing my usual live <s>blogging</s> copy/pasting. But I will be joining fellow people who spass out over gaming news in the Destructoid main page chat.
|
Hope the streams are on point this year. Had some hiccups last time.
Also hope Konami has another mindfuck of a conference. |
G4 is covering again. I'll have to make sure I remember to DVR it this year...missed it last year
|
|
I have no real excitement over this, right now :( Just an "I'll check it out" type of out look.
|
Based on the press package Microsoft sent to E3 reporters, Halo CE remake, Tomb Raider remake, and Star Wars Kinect (shown last year) will be part of their E3 press conference.
Another rumor has the next Smash Bros being revealed at this E3 for Nintendo's next console and not the 3DS. Square-Enix also rumored to be making a reboot of Legacy of Kain and should show it off or announce it at E3. Carmageddon reboot is also being confirmed to be revealed before E3 but could also be shown. http://www.giantbomb.com/news/here-c...-updated/3230/ http://www.giantbomb.com/news/oh-wha...kain-too/3232/ http://www.destructoid.com/personali...l-201846.phtml |
I really hope that Smash Bros. rumor is partially true...
|
Quote:
A reboot in general, I'm fine with but, please, no DMC style "let's dump the characters in a city for some reason and redesign them!" reboot. |
Hate virtually all reboots. "We've run out of ideas and refuse to move onto new IP." Ugh.
|
LoK's been dead for a while, though.
|
I remember being blown away when I played Soul Reaver for the first time. Being able to go between two "realms" and use any weapon you came across amazed me back then along with the way you fought enemies. Loved it.
I played the first LoK, that was cool but prefered SR. Got the other LoK for Ps2 but my Ps2 refused to read the disc so I missed out :(. I might look up the last LoK game. I'm hoping the reboot is just a story reboot and nothing else. No modern setting or high profile voice actors for the sake of having high profile voice actors. |
The second LOK is an abortion.
|
Blood Omen 2? That was the one I got for the Ps2 but didn't work.
Was going to buy the Xbox version for 62p. Probably wont. |
Blood Omen 2 was the goods
|
Last Guardian for the PS3 appears to be a no-show for Sony's E3 this year after it was announced that the creator/director of the game, Fumito Ueda, won't be appearing at E3 and won't be revealing any game info for the projects being worked on.
The game itself still has a TBA 2012 release date after being pushed out of the late 2011 release window. http://gamrfeed.vgchartz.com/story/8...this-years-e3/ |

I hope we get to see Doom 4.
Though from what was said in an interview a while back, they are shying away from the horror aspects of doom 3, and making it more like old school doom. Don't like that news at all. Doom 3 was the scariest game I've ever played. Leaves all other survival horror games in the dust, imo. At least from a fright factor standpoint. |
judging by LA noire the next GTA is going to be absolutely sex. plus the steering camera in noire was how it should have been in GTA4 :'(

I forget about E3 every year. Then like..the last 2 weeks before it takes place go extremely fucking slow.
|
Looking forward to what PC gamers can look forward to...
|
Hideo Kojima confirms he will not be at E3 this year nor will he give out any info and details on any projects his team is working on unless Konami uses someone else for the announcements.
This means no chance at the next Metal Gear Soild being revealed (not counting Rising) and everyone hoping Zone of the Enders 3 finally gets announced. |
I don't think there are any new MG games planned beyond rising, atm anyway.
|
Quote:
I need to stop watching Battlefield 3 footage though. That engine makes me want BF3. |
Definately Gonna get BF3 for PC :)
|
Well yeah, if your system can handle it, it's always better to go PC. Especially for games like Battlefield, that are easy to create levels and mods for.
|
Plus 64 player support compared to the console 32.
It is much better to get it on PC, but it being a military shooter, I'm pretty convinced I'll buy it, commend it for beig beautiful and fluid and then get bored of shooting things and want something else to play. |
Hasney, Do you have any cool shit on Terraria? Just got Hermes Boots and Water pipe thing.
|
I've got a murimisma sword, lucky horseshoe, mini-shark (with meteor shots) necro gear and a nightmare pickaxe. Some pretty sweet stuff there.
|
How do you get cool shit? Bar finding chests?
I summoned Cthulu's eye on my dug, managed to get it down to 1000 health using Shurikens then it raped me... At least I put up a slight fight though, compared to that old man that transforms into a huge skeleton. |
You need to defeat Cthulhu to get demo it's which you can then use to make a nightmare pickaxe. Then you can mine obsidian which is made by pouring water on lava. Then you need to mine underthe corruption and destroy the black orbs to make a meteorite hit for some more awesome material.

Unofficially, E3 starts off tomorrow with Konami's multiple press conferences.
Microsoft is rumored to put a lot of emphasis on their E3 coverage on making the Xbox 360 branded heavily as an "entertainment device" than a video game system and even more than last year's 50/50 split of games to non-games stuff. This year they only have 5 games as part of their main conference dealing with game announcements. http://gamrfeed.vgchartz.com/story/8...details-at-e3/ Sony's press conference is expected to confirm NGP to be called PS Vita and Square-Enix to announce something big for Sony (not expected to be the long rumored FF VII remake). |
Konami's Press Conference Highlights:
* Contra Reboot on its way to current consoles http://kotaku.com/5808065/konami-teases-contra-reboot * Sillent Hill getting the HD remake/collection treatment to go along with a new Silent Hill for NGP/PS Vita. Silent Hill 2 and 3 are being remade in HD while the NGP game is being called Silent Hill: Book of Memories. http://kotaku.com/5808062/silent-hil...nt-hill-teased * Metal Gear Solid getting made into a collection for the 2nd time but this time in HD for Xbox 360 and PS3 (previous collection was on PS2). Also announced was Zone of the Enders getting the HD remake treatment http://kotaku.com/5808055/metal-gear...hd-collections * Metal Gear Solid Rising confirmed to be a no-show for E3 and still has a TBA 2012 release date. The game is expected to take on more of a sci-fi style for story and gameplay. http://kotaku.com/5808069/no-metal-g...ase-reaffirmed * Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater on the 3DS is being called a "tribute to the series" by Konami. The camera on the 3DS allows customized camouflage based on what was taken as a pic. Gyro sensor used to keep balance while climbing. * New game called Neverdead and its a 3rd person shooter where the player can't die but can lose limbs. Those limbs grow back over time. * New Pro Evo Soccer game with improvements to passing and dribbling to go along with a wider camera to show off more of the field. * New game engine called Fox engine in development to help with multi-platform games for use in future Konami games. |
Lame about no MGS Rising. Also wish the HD collection had MGS1.
|
Finally gonna get my chance to play MGS 3.
|
Well fuck. Do I get the collection, or MGS3DS.
Also just noticed, Konami haven't done a good non-Kojima game in a loooonnnngggg time. |
HD Zone of the Enders
Fuck yes. |
Why aren't they including MGS1 in the collection? I liked MGS1 but I was a little too young to fully appreciate it so I'd have liked to have played it again in the collection. It was my first thought when I read Meatballs post about the collection. Sucks it wont be there.
MGS2, I'm glad to hear because I liked that a lot. It would have been cool if it was Substance with the skate boarding and Challenges. |
Yeah I figured they'd port the GCN remake. It is nice to have Peace Walker on console.
|
Maybe they're saving MGS1 for an XBLA/PSN release in the future. Probably not.
I bought MGS3 on release and didn't really like it. I got as far as the part where you fall off the bridge and have to give yourself surgery/first aid for the first time and thought "screw it" and moved on to another game. Isn't Peace Walker just another MGS3 style MGS? Maybe my opinion of MGS 3 will be different this time around. |
Peace Walker is a sequel to MGS3, yes, but it's not some 'update'. It's an official part of MGS, as integral as the four core games. I never finished MGS3 because that's about when I got multiplayer oriented (damn Halo 2), and I didn't play Peace Walker. With these re-releases I can tie up every moment of Metal Gear Solid's story.
|
Wish Twin Snakes came with it. Loved Twin Snakes.

who cares about a zone of the enders HD remake? the games came out on PS2 and look fine... why would you want to play them again and just have them look better instead of having a new game in the series actually utilizing the PS3's hardware and not just its graphics

Sounded decent from what I read. You sell your soul to the devil or something... You can also take limbs off which then stay alive and help you do stuff. |

If this generation of consoles has taught me anything, it's that if you get enough fan demand going anything is possible. Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo: HD Remix led to SF4. The rerelease of Marvel vs Capcom 2 and the release of Tatsunoko vs Copcom led to massive demand for MvC3. The developers said it would never happen and not even a year later they had no choice but to reacquire the license and do it. |
If I remember correctly the biggest reason Twin Snakes would not be in the Metal Gear Solid collection is due to Nintendo owning some rights to Twin Snakes (similar to them having some rights to Eternal Darkness and GoldenEye or Sony with FF VII). The game is a remake of MGS 1 but with some changes and extra stuff added (ex. Mario and Nintendo Easter eggs). Unless Konami was willing to port the collection to the Wii or "Cafe", Nintendo could reject Twin Snakes getting ported.
Metal Gear Solid 1 might be on the PSN Store (not completely sure) so Konami wouldn't want to hurt its PSN sales for a collection set. |
We may get some pre-E3 stuff over the weekend like last year.
STICKY THIS BITCH IT'S GO TIME |
It seems someone has found out what Nintendos next console will be called. Someone searched for sites registered with the name "Nintendo" and, after 5 minutes of searching, came across enough sites registered to the same people/on the same date to make an educated assumption at the name.
The next console will be called: SPOILER: show |
lol

Well, we all thought Wii was a retarded name and I'm sure Beem will roll off the tongue in no time.

I'm anticipating Elder Scrolls Skyrim the most.

Did G4 lose the rights to broadcast the press conferences on TV or something? I went to set my DVR and nothing E3 related is supposed to come on until 1pm.

Watched the show live and it was all junk I don't care about (GoW, CoD, Halo etc).
Got excited at the mention of Fable only to be put off when I saw it was "Links Crossbow Training" with magic. Trying out that free Kinect Fun Labs thing and it's ok, I guess. THere is no practicle stuff, really. It's the sort of like the Kinect equivilent to those PS1 demos where you got to look at the 3D model of the T-Rex or manta ray. Cool to try out but no actual game to play. I tried the "Kinect Me" section. Scanned my actual t-shirt design into the software and managed to pick up I was wearing shorts. The face was no where near mine and neither was the hair. Tried the Googley-Eyes next and scanned in a cushion as that's all I had to hand. Again, it was cool but there was nothing to really do after you scanned it in. About to try out "Build A Buddy" which looks like Googley-Eyes minus the googley eyes. I did like the very breif glimpse of Forza 4, though, and I like that Minecraft is coming to the 360. I guess I wont need Fortress Craft anymore. I was overall disappointed with the conference but I'm hoping Nintendo will make up for it with an interesting show. |
Nintendo is going to be big, but I hopefully Sony has something big.
That Microsoft conference was pretty lackluster. |
