You know what we need more of? Stolen finishers.
Hate how like 472 guys use a similar uranage/spinebuster variation or some STO or facebuster shit that all looks alike.
Gotta bring back some hot moves from the past. Randy Orton sucked dick before he started using the diamond cutter. But nobody gives a shit that he's not that good now because we all pop for the RKO. So yeah pick some old moves you wanna see back and give it to a guy to use. |
small package
|
pile drivers
|
Big Show should do the boss man slam. And I would like to see someone use the British bulldogs running power slam his kid should do it or that poor mans Batista in nexus
|
I was wondering earlier what the statute is on finishers? Like when can a new guy start busting out a Superkick (not in ROH) or the Rock Bottom?
And no more downward spiral/complete shot/mic checks |
The Jackhammer would be nice for a guy like Mason Ryan. But not Mason Ryan because he's green as shit.
A variation of a DDT. (Not the Pedigree.) Triple Germans. And really any nice throw Suplex. A smaller guy could use the Dudley Dog/Acid Drop. I don't see why they couldn't give a Piledriver to someone. If Taker's allowed to do the Tombstone, one person should be allowed to do the regular Piledriver. And it's been long enough banned that it'd be considered a devastating finisher again. I guess it's too early for someone to get a Superkick, but down the line (a few years) it'd be nice. If Nash weren't associated with WWE, I'd say the Jackknife. There's a shitload of submission finishers that could be resurrected as finishers. Texas Cloverleaf, Dragon Sleeper, Crossface Chickenwing, Figure Four. Some resurrections of moves I've enjoyed of late are the Razor's Edge (Celtic Cross) for Sheamus and the sleeper for Ziggler. |
Let Mason Ryan use the Batista Bomb. Might as well.
|
I think Kharma used to do the Batista Bomb too as her finisher in TNA before the Implant Buster. Liked the Batista Bomb way more than the Implant Buster.
|
Was totally thinking of the Jackhammer for Mason Ryan.
|
Falcon Arrow or Rikishi Driver.
The Moss Covered Three-Handled Family Gredunza. More guys need to use more of the names out of Jericho's list of 1004 Holds. Del Rio's armbar should be called "Armbar 712". |
Remember when Hardcore Holly had the "holly-caust" as his finisher? Then they just called it the falcon arrow. Lame.
|
Michinoku Driver anyone?

Would like to see the F5 and Baldo Bomb make a return
also give Chris Masters the god damn torture rack |

No. You know what? After that small package joke you're not allowed to post in here again. Good day.

This one would probably be tough, but the mandible claw (sans Mr. Socko) would be interesting. Also the pumphandle slam. |
The Dominator is criminally underused.

Zeke needs to use the Pearl River Plunge.

Ya the future shock's not bad
plus Orton and Miz both have a DDT as one of their signature moves |
Yeah, true. Didn't even think of that TBH.
But I was thinking more along the lines of a proper DDT, like the Evenflow or Jake's. |
Christian too

Haven't they banned most of these moves? Most of the piledrivers and suplexes from a few years ago can't really be utilized anymore I thought.
Rings of Saturn is a move I haven't seen done in a long time. The Buff Blockbuster. |
I'd love to see someone start using the Diamond Dust as a finisher. Since it's highly unlikely that Masato Tanaka will ever sign with WWE, someone else might as well jack his finisher.
I also think the F5 should make a comeback. I'd say Mason Ryan should start using it, but he's green as fuck and would probably kill someone. Torture Rack should be brought back, and someone should start using the Flying Elbow Drop from the top rope as a legit finisher, since HBK isn't around anymore to use it as one of his signature moves. Shining Wizard was also a nice finisher that was used by Hurricane Helms for awhile. I wouldn't mind seeing someone else pick it up. |
Canadian Destroyer on WWE TV
|
Fox i agree the diamond dust is sick, i used to use it when i worked the indy's and should make a comeback.
|
Question related to this thread (sorta):
I posted "pile driver" as my answer. I know it is a banned move. How is it that Undertaker can use the Tombstone? If Taker can use a variation of the pile driver then someone else should be creative and also use a variation of it as well. I miss Jerry Lawlers "pencil" pile driver. It looked awesome when he did it. My favorite finisher right now is GTS. I would also like to see the F5 return..Mason Ryan may kill someone with it, though. |
Marc Mero's TKO
|
Alex Riley used the TKO on NXT. Haven't seen it since tho. Prolly won't let him use it because it's too similar to the RKO. Or perhaps they will let him use it once he actually wins a match.
|
Oh yeah, I forgot about that
|
I think I saw Gunner or Murphy, whichever of the two is the one that wins, use the F5 a couple weeks ago.
|
I hope AJ Styles and Kurt Angle informed whichever of those gentlemen that it is NOT COOL to steal other people's finishers.
|
Mason Ryan should use the Torture Rack, or should use the Brock Lock (seen him use it once).
I used to Like Sean Ohaires Widowmaker. Whip Lash. Anyone could use that for the most part. |
I would also like to see more of stealing your opponent’s finisher as well.
|
Blizzard Suplex
|
i miss seeing the rings of saturn, it looks legitimate enough as a submission

Rings of Saturn 4 sure
Would also like to see the Tazmission make a return although Jericho kinda killed that when he started using it as a rest hold. |
How about the Carousel?
|
You know what else they need? Special/modified finishers for big matches. WWE needs to take a lesson from puroresu or indy wrestling on this one. Nothing big, nothing used very often, but just something for big matches when the guy kicks out of the "normal" finisher.
Misawa had the Tiger Driver 91, Jun Akiyama had the wrist clutch exploder, CIMA has his redline/wrist clutch Schwien, etc. For example, I'd love to see a John Cena main event where someone like the Miz kicks out of the AA, so Cena hoists him back up, but instead does a sort of AA into a sit down slam pin combo (he did it a few times in the past.) Just a simple alteration of his finisher that would look more devastating, and would be great for big matches. Same idea with the leaping tombstone Taker did to HBK, or to a lesser extent, Orton's punt kick. |
I'd love to see Dibiase say fuck the Dream Street and start using the Million Dollar Dream like his dad did.
Yoshi Tatsu should start using the Tarantula and the Buzzsaw Kick like Tajiri used to. Since Rey already used it once, he should start doing the Poison Mist to set up the 619 from now on. Punk should start using the Stunner to further his "fued" with Austin. Use it as a way to mock him. Zeke really should use the PRP as Xero stated. If anyone starts using a Superkick, it should be either Morrison or Slater. Would love to see Ryder or Hawkins bust out the Vertibreaker also. |
For the first time in as long as I can remember, there is no major star using a power bomb for a finisher.
|
Swagger isnt using the Gut Wrench Powerbomb anymore. SO yeah, Anyone else? Let Mason Ryan use it.

I do agree with your post. Also, I'd like to see them move away from finishers being the end all in every match in general. Obviously some matches should end in a finisher, but guys should have four or five signatures that COULD end the match in addition to the big finishers. That's rarely the case. Usually guys have one or two moves that could end the match and the rest are just wear down moves or moves that lead to the finisher. For example, Orton has the neck/back breaker, the suspended DDT, the RKO and the Punt. All of them should be able to end a match, but it's always the Punt or the RKO. It'd make things more unpredictable and more exciting. In WWE especially, you can pretty much always tell when a near fall is going to be a near fall and not end the match. If you add in more signatures that do end matches on a regular basis it adds to the matches. |
Quote:
|
It doesn't matter how many signatures and so on you throw in, build etc, the "educated" will always have half an idea when something is going to finish a match or not, that's just how wrestling works and how it should work. It's the truly gifted guys that take the analysing and guessing away and allow said "educated" fan to get caught up and carried away with the match.

Have you stopped to think that it's called the 'Batista Bomb' because it's a move specific to him?. In that it's his variation of the 'classic' sit out powerbomb? You know how Eddie Guerrero and RVD both extensively used frog splashes that look nothing a like? |

can't wait to read Punks tweet about this matter. Kick his ass, seabass!

Punk also stole Hiroyoshi Tenzan's Anaconda Vice.
|
the Vice is a jiu-jitsu shoot hold if you put it on with full pressure, hardly the Sharpshooter or anything
|
Everyone stole all the moves ever done from Konnan.
|
Texas Cloverleaf could use some love.
|
How about these pin attempts...
Abdominal Stretch into an Outside Cradle Double Leg Nelson Japanese Leg Roll Clutch Arm-Trap Somersault Cradle Half Nelson Cradle STF rollover to Pinfall Cross-legged Cradle |
Someone (Punk? Rhodes?) busted out the figure four around the ringpost recently. Someone needs to start doing that on a more permanent basis because it is badass.
|
This isn't me being an indy/puro nerd, but there are A LOT of moves that would be perfect for guys that should be stolen.
Like, why does no one use a shining wizard? Or the Amaze impact (Face first chokeslam). I'd love to see someone bust out a wrist clutch fisherman buster as well. Not that risky, but looks great. |

Not quite the rings since he gets a facelock.
I forgot this. That was a sick move. |
Alberto Del Rio really needs to steal the Minoru special # 2 (Northern Lights Suplex rolled through into a cross arm breaker). It's perfect for him. Someone should also use the Scorpion Arm Lock. It's hard to imagine, but it's at the end of this video.
<iframe width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/dVWmVlHyCpE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Scorpion arm lock looks like it would do nothing.
|
Yeah, Scorpion arm lock looks like shit.
|
You will be pleased to hear that Ezekial Jackson is now using the Torture Rack as a finish.
Chris Masters to re-debut the Pearl River Plunge next week. |
The scissored Fujiwara Armbar and the Bridging Rings of Saturn are awesome. Those should be used.
|
Yeah I don't really care about stealing Japanese moves. That doesn't really count. Talking more about using the Stunner.
Thanks tho :y: |

It's pretty funny - a lot of the moves in this thread are actually used by one or more active guys today. Just saying.
In his feud with Randy Orton, especially if he becomes a heel, I'd like to see Christian start using the Diamond Cutter. It could sort of be like his "sneaky" answer to the RKO for newer fans. The Killswitch is all well and good, but it takes ages to set-up, and while he shouldn't scrap it, I like it when guys have multiple ways they can win a match. Christian also used the Texas Cloverleaf for a bit, too. I wouldn't mind seeing him use that. Or give it to someone like Darren Young, who could use it. Layla uses the Diamond Dust, but I wouldn't mind seeing a babyface like Yoshi Tatsu bust it out. Even a guy like JTG could benefit from that move. Chris Masters should really get a move that can get him pinfall wins. I don't want to take the easy route and say Full Nelson Slam, either. He has used the Jackhammer in the past, but I think a Tiger Driver could be great for him. Also, Masters uses the "Rydeen Bomb," as someone mentioned. And so does Ted DiBiase. And Titus O'Neil. I'd mark out if Cody Rhodes started using the Cross Rhodes as a set-up to some sort of neck-based submission hold. The Rings of Saturn, perhaps? He's used a Figure Four in the past, too. John Morrison could start using the Superkick as an "out of nowhere" move to finish matches, or to just set-up for the Starship Pain. For some reason, I could see Drew McIntyre doing a pretty nifty superkick, too. I don't want to see him using it every match, but it could be one of those great "WHOA SHIT!" out of nowhere moves. And I do have to give kudos to R-Truth - he's the first guy to make me care about the Paydirt/Play of the Day/Truth Hurts/Token Black Finish (as someone else in Tipsters has noticed) in a long time. I actually think his suplex into a Stunner move could be a good finish for him, though. Coolest looking move R-Truth has. And the F5 should definitely make a return. Mason Ryan seems like the obvious choice, I guess. But maybe there is someone else? Maybe keep it saved? But Ryan's finishing moves at present are pretty underwhelming. I've never been able to get behind the Boss Man Slam, sorry. Kong should also use her Sit-Down Powerbomb. It looks vicious when she does it on a tiny girl. |

Yeah that was pretty sick.
That move and the pyro made me think Drew was finally getting his push back. |
