Incredibly sad that it might take something like this for it to happen but I really hope he gets his, rightfully earned, spot in the Hall of Fame. One of the best workers in the 80s who gave the Warrior his best match and a number of great matches with Flair and Steamboat.
Macho Man, I salute you. http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/6778/machoman.jpg |
wonder if there will be a mention on smackdown or raw

Literally just heard this on the radio and came to the forums to see if anybody posted a thread about this. I literally said "What the fuck?"
Damn. RIP Macho Man. |
Holy Mary mother of FUCK what a depressing day. Can't believe I just woke up to this shit....RIP Macho Man....ugh today is gonna suck. One of the greatest to ever step into the ring by far. Dig it....

At least he's trending more than the end of the world. Macho Man > Stupid Bullshit Prophecies |
It's going to be so incredibly sad watching Lanny Poffo up at the Hall of Fame, receiving the honor on behalf of "The Macho Man"...should've been in a LONG time ago...
...part of me says "They shouldn't even bother to induct him now", because it would've made more sense to do it while ha was alive, so he could stand up there himself, receive the honor, give out his speech, hear the applause of the crowd, feel the love, after so many years of going out there and entertaining us...but he DOES deserve the honor... ...it's so sad, because when he did his little promo with the "Macho Man" action figure, he said 2011 would be the year of the Macho Man... |
Savage will always be my all time favourite, sad news :(

Former pro wrestling star "Macho Man" Randy Savage is dead after suffering a heart attack while driving near Tampa, Fla., on Friday morning, according to TMZ.
The celebrity gossip website reported that Savage, whose real name is Randy Poffo, lost control of his Jeep Wrangler and crashed into a tree went he went into medical distress. Poffo was 58. His wife Lynn was a passenger in the vehicle but survived with "minor injuries," TMZ reported. Members of the Florida Highway Patrol are investigating. An autopsy is scheduled to confirm the cause of death. Savage was a wrestling superstar in the late 1980s and 1990s, first with the World Wrestling Federation and later with World Championship Wrestling, holding various championship belts. He was well-known for spouting catchphrases in his rough and raspy voice, scripted and real-life feuds with the likes of Hulk Hogan and colourful ring attire. Friends, former co-workers and a legion of fans took to the Internet with condolences and messages of disbelief upon learning of Poffo's death. On Twitter, the hashtag #ripmachoman was one of the world's top trending topics Friday afternoon, along with the words "Savage," "WrestleMania" and "Hulk Hogan," who was an in-ring ally and foe during Poffo's wrestling career. Hogan tweets: 'We miss him' Hogan tweeted about Poffo's death, saying the pair "finally started to talk and communicate" after 10 years of silence. "He had so much life in his eyes & in his spirit, I just pray that he's happy and in a better place and we miss him," Hogan wrote on his official Twitter account. Former WWE star Trish Stratus, who hails from Richmond Hill, offered her condolences on Twitter. "Rest in peace Randy - my first inspiration in the ring. My prayers & condolences to the Savage family," Stratus tweeted. -cp24.com |
I remember being at WWF Fanfest for Mania 10, Hillbilly Jim was helping me and my dad get some videos. He asked me who my favorite wrestler was and I said Macho Man. He threw in the Macho Madness video for free.
I watched that thing all the time, went through his program with Dibiase, great stuff. |

Something doesn't quite belong on WWE.com right now. |
What sucks too is that it was a car accident. No drug overdose. No steroid abuse. No DUI. A fucking car accident. After getting over the way Liz passed and finding love again, this is how he goes out.
|
Poor guy. One of the true greats ever in the business, and gone far too young. RIP.
|
So sad to hear about this. Fucking awful. What a terrible day.
|
Very sad news.
I think anyone that grew up in the 80's and was a wrestling fan couldn't help but love The Macho Man. The guy was a true talent and a man that has provided any fan of wrestling with hours upon hours of entertainment throughout his life. When I heard he was in his late fifties I thought to myself "he lived a long life for a wrestler." And I hate that that was my first thought. 58 is way too young for anyone to go. I'm a true believer in true love and in the afterlife, from everything I've read Randy Savage and Elizabeth had one of those tragically twisted romances but it sounded like they always cared for one another. I'm comforted by the fact that somewhere they are reunited once again. Every time one of these wrestlers die a little pice of my childhood goes with them, and that's okay. There will always be the memories and I have my fair share of Randy Savage matches in my DVD collection that I can watch and think fondly upon. I'm sure some of you are grieved by the fact that he never had his day in the sun entering the WWE Hall of Fame. Take heart with the idea that no one that ever saw Randy Savage wrestler had any doubt that he is one of the greatest of all time. Here's something some of you may not have seen of Macho Man... RIP |
Holy crap.
I'm sort of stunned. Rarely post from work, but this one gave me goosebumps. Randy Savage, Sting, Bret Hart and a few others are really only the few that would leave me speechless for a few minutes. Yeesh, I'm sorry for his family, hopefully he's snappin into some slim-jims somewhere... |
WHAT THE FUCK???
|
What a horrible fucking week :'(

This is all just starting to come together for me in one giant depressing hammer. Just realizing how much I interacted with Jeritron here, and now realizing how big a part of my childhood Randy Savage was. I was never really a Hogan fan. I was Macho Man and Warrior all the way.
Going to go dig out my Macho Man LJN "action figure". Thing provided me with countless hours of entertainment. |
This is highly gay
|
The grim reaper is a fucking faggot

I just found this out about an hour ago... came here to confirm, and the server was down. That was all the confirmation I needed. :'(
Damn. With him hawking WWE All-Stars, it seemed that steps were in place to put whatever differences aside and a HOF invite was finally at hand. RIP Mach. <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/3JsdDCq1-I8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
ESPN's Around the Horn show is having a semi-Macho Man tribute or at least putting a lot of his catchphrase references in today's show.
They even have a link on the main page about the accident and death. |
