Kind of new to the forums but have done Yahoo fantasy football for a while. I'm in.

Edit: I've never done an auction draft, Can anyone kind of fill me in on how it works and if there is a huge difference between that and a normal draft?

It's pretty straight forward, you have a pot of money to buy your whole roster.

Someone nominates a player and then everyone can bid on that player. The person with the highest bid gets the player.

The money is limited so once you have spent your money you are only able to buy dregs.

It has the advantage of meaning that draft order is less of a factor, and that you have to manage your budget.

Yahoo Fantasy Sports has consistently crashed on me for the past several months because my internet connection has been atrocious and Comcast blows - had more pressing shit to take care of though so I've been unable to get it fixed. It's the reason why I haven't even touched my fantasy baseball teams since early June. It crashes so often I decided to just pack it in for the year. I fucking hate dead teams, but my internet has given me no choice.

Should have everything up and running again by the NFL season though so I'll def be able to stay active.</font>

How'd did I do? This is the first of my 3 drafts.

Ryan Grant is a gamble that early. It'll be interesting to see how well he comes back from missing a year. It may wind up, though, being an example of the infrequently seen "establish the pass" which opens up the running game for him.

I really only need him for two weeks as he is my third running back. Its a PPR league so I think Percy Harvin or Sims-Walker could do whats needed for my flex spot. I honestly think that Ryan Grant will get back to old form though and could possibly be trade bait to better my QB or TE if it is needed.

What do people think about the idea of splitting it into two divisions of 8 considering it is a 14 week regular season?

I know its a no, but on the slim chance it IS possible, can you move the draft to 2.5 hours later? I wont be home until 730pm and the draft starts at 5pm.

Im not expecting it at all though.

Draft time works for me. I have work at like 4pm (est), so I can at least get to the opening rounds.

We need another player btw. We have an odd number of managers.

I've split the league into two divisions which will be interesting. Division winners are the top two seeds and the rest of the playoff teams are decided by overall standings.

I definitely overspent on my offense, but I think my defense is formidable enough. Really thrilled that autodraft picked a retired linebacker for me (mike vrabel). I absolutely love my rb and wr core. All in all not bad for my first auction draft.

My autodraft had a very interesting strategy - spend $3 or less on 21 of my picks. And for my big money picks get Mark Ingram, Knowshon Moreno and Kenny Britt.

The auto-drafted teams just looked horrible. I don't think auto-draft attempted to get one good player for those teams. No way I'd have the team that I do if it wasn't so bad.

Pretty happy with my team, looking for an RB and another DB, pretty stacked at WR and have 3 QBs so looking to offload one of them for a top tier RB. Am willing to look at 2 or 3 for 1 deals.

Auction draft is goddamn awful at autodrafting.

Not looking for a QB as I think Big Ben will be somewhere around 4000-5000 yds this this season. Depending on who you have, I might be able to do a 2 for 2 deal with Frank Gore and Dwayne Bowe for an elite WR and a lesser running back to fill the empty spot.

LOL at whoever offered me Braylon Edwards/Sidney Rice for Rashard Mendenhall. I'll be declining that as soon as I get home and can log in to Yahoo.

Also, did our fantasy draft tonight. We're doing it through a local Pub, where they provide us all kinds of shit and give us free food every month, and other things. Personalized draft board and scoreboard. We do the game through ESPN's thing. Anyways, here is my team. I was last to pick, so I got back-to-backs which was sort of nice, except I got FUCKED on RBs. Going last was kind of nice though because I got to pick 'good players' before anyone got to those things. Took Peyton Manning and Antonio Gates for my first 2, and I don't regret it. Also got Packers D before anyone started taking D's, and same with Janikowski. Got decent WR picks when they first started getting taken, and people were still fighting over RBs.

In the league where I showed up and drafted I scored the most points so far, though I should guess by the end of MNF that wont be the case.

Surprisingly won this first week in the TPWW league. In one other league where I actually drafted and have a team 100 times better than this one I lost so go figure.

I had my ass handed to me in the TPWW league and reverse in the public league I am in.

Got hosed in all 3 of my leagues, as each team I played had either Rodgers or Brees. One had Rodgers and Jennings. Actually won 2 of them though, of course only losing the TPWW one

Im glad I started Fitzpatrick over Romo, I would have only won by .22 points instead of the bigger win I had and it'll put me #2 in the league I actually stand a chance in.
