Anybody bought this game yet?

I have an although its really really good it just hasn't gripped me like say 01/02. Can't really explain why either everything points to it being superior. :-\ The realism doesn't seem quite as good - Shola Ameobi scoring 5 goals in the Premiership?! OK i'll hold my breath for that one. And Paolo Wanchope scoring 4 goals in two consequtive games amused me too.

Won Premiership in first season as Newcastle and now 3rd or something a third through the second.

Any opinions?

Its amazing, ok, the realism leaves a bit to be desired (i.e just signed Saviola for Liverpool :D) but I still love it, and the editor is great.

I tried to sign Alan Smith at the January window and offered up to £20 million and got knocked back. So Leeds went into administration and I took him for £250,000 (and I probably could have got him cheaper!) :D

Where does the media interaction come in? Cause I haven't seen much so far apart from declaring interest in a player. I did get a pat on the back from the marketing director for signing a Korean player though since it'll boost merch sales in the far east :love:

I've been playing the 03-04 much more than the last 1 - Took Everton to the uefa cup final (lost to real madrid 1-0 and didn't play any real big teams be4 that) and I just beat Arsenal 5-0.

Guess i'll post about my game in 00/01,only i've updated most of the teams.

Currently Villareal for some reason,4th in La Liga at Christmas,though the only big team i've played so far is Deportivo away,where i led 2-0 before falling 3-2 behind and then getting a last minute equaliser.:D

Bastard board won't give me any money :mad: :'( so I'm having to rely on freebies and unwanted players :$

Still though, top after 4 games having just tonked Villa 4-1, and into the 1st round of the UEFA cup after knocking Southampton out of the Intertoto :love:

Its still quite buggy, not quite as bad as CM4 was but it still aint great in that respect.

All in all though its still a fine game, but personally I prefer 01/02, I can't quite put my finger on why, maybe its just the good memories that came from that game.

If you don't have CM4 and can't be bothered to update your old databases manually CM03/04 is still worth a squirt though.

No only bad thing I find with the game is occasionally, if you make a subsitution, you end up with the player still on the pitch, but kind of lying on the floor.

Also, just knocked CSKA Sofia out of the Uefa Cup with Torquay :cool:

Yeah i ran away with the division 3 league as hull city. I'm 5th in division 2 now having started off terrible with like no wins in the first 8 games. I'm on the back of a 14 game unbeaten run now though with 6 games of the season left. I'm trailing the leaders walsall by 8 points

Anyway, this season, 3rd round of the League Cup, away to premiership Wolves, we win 4-1.... even with 10 men. 'Ave It.

Anyway,keep on not saving,which looking back was kinda stupid having drew away at Real Madrid,beaten Deportivo at home and then beaten Valencia away.I guess i was so mad after losing to the side second from bottom.

At least now i can choose between signing Guti and Frank Lampard,but i don't know who:( So if anyone responds by the next time i'm on about which one i should get i'll go with their/the majority's opinion.:D

I'm in Div 2, I've played 1 Full Season, and if I remember correctly its February in my second season. I'm 5th in Div 2 with 4 games in hand, which if I get 10 points from I'll go top, and if I get 6 points I'll go second.

Yeah it's a 4-4-2,both are out of favour and interested in moving to me atm.I sort of have one centre midfielder going back to just infront of the back 4 and the other just normal with my 2 wide players,Zenden and this amazing Italian called Di Michele,to go forward,with the Italian sort of going in behind the attack from out wide.

I'll probably go with Lampard,what with him being the man right now and so i wouldn't be the only Englishmen at the club.

Well Lampard just scored an overhead kick against me, so I would choose him.

But we still beat Newcastle 4-2 in the first leg of the League Cup Semi :D

Tuncay is an uber-forward for Newcastle in the game I'm playing right now. Lucio (at Leverkusen to start) is a farking great centreback too. Should be able to pick them both up for less than £40m

Yes, Tuncay is unbelievable. Lucio has a release clause of like 11.5 million or something, and was just voted World Player Of The Year, bloody good prospect.

Not really, I've just played a lot the past few days. I hadn't played in a month until 3 days ago. Also, I've stopped watching highlights, and just do old school text commentary, the seasons go really quickly.

Anyone got any idea how long it takes to train a player to play in another position.

It took me 2 seasons to get Jermaine Wright to fully become an attacking midfielder and Ian Westlake into a defensive midfielder at Ipswich. I think sometimes the players stats don't fit a certain position so they may never change.

Anyone got any ideas what to do if the board won't expand the stadium because of "local residents" opposed to it which stopped them getting building permission?

Wow, that happened? That's actually pretty cool. But if that's the case, your best to wait a few years I would guess.

Also, the stats are for a central defender who has Finishing, Heading and Long Shots @ 19, the guy is practically begging to be a Striker.

Yeah but they upgraded my traning ground (big consolation :rant: ).

I think in a case of getting a defender to become a striker, you also have to be playing him up front as well as training him to the new position. If it's a youth player it should be simple enough but it will probably cause you problems in first team matches with experienced players. I believe players over 30 aren't very adaptable either (so I've heard) so there may be no changing someone that age or older.

SO basically in my first season in the 1st Division I'm into the Quarter Finals of the League Cup, and I've drawn..... lemme just do the draw.... LOL of all the people left, I drew Arsenal. Yeah, I'm into the 3rd round of the Uefa Cup and i'm 11th in Div 1 with a game in hand, which if I win will take me 7th. I'll post my team in a mo.

righto, i started a new game, with no dodgy dealing on my behalf this time :$

i'm morecambe again, and when I first got the team I nearly wept, cause all of them bar like 3 people suck insane amounts of balls.

on top of that I had a whopping 12k to spend, which wasn't nice.

I managed to whore some players out by offering them to jobber clubs at knockdown prices though, and I bought a few awesome players and some jobbers who didn't job quite as hard as half of my current team.

my goalkeepers are f</>ucking shite and I can't find a single keeper worth his salt to join me, not even on loan. I can't find any good loan players actually :mad: that want to come to bastard morecambe anyway.

SO ANYWAY

i somehow managed to sign Oskarsson and Porhallsson or however you spell it, both from Por, with the stupid P thing.

Then I hooked up this ukrainian AMC from somewhere or other, and he's the fu</>cking man. my only consistant player really.

Oskarsson started off mad well, average rating of 9.88 something like 20 games into the season, scoring 2-5 goals in most games.

he's having a few quiet spells now though :(

porhallsson has been utter shit for me, so i stuck him on left wing instead of striker for a bit, and he's still doing fu</>ck all, the lazy bastard :mad:

I have a defensive midfielder who's good but knocks every shot into like row Z or something.

My keeper is f</>ucking dire, I haven't seen him dive once yet. I have some swedish guy joining early december though when his contract runs out.

I'm like 1.5k over my wage bill, which while it doesn't sound like much, adds up pretty quick when you're bastard morecambe :'( was like 2.9k though before i flogged half my team and gave the rest of them cut-price contracts :cool:

also, all the bastard jobber fans got behind my keeper when i started criticizing him in the hope he'd f</>ucking save the bastard ball once in a while :rant:

Also, I got knocked out of the vans trophy by oldham after a goal in extra time, up until which point it was 3-3. would've been more if i hadn't had a player sent off and my keeper being generally shit, along with half of my defense :mad:

that said, i'm top of the table with a goal difference 3 times that of any other team :$

also, 2nd round of the FA cup :mad: port vale or some other div 2 team. i've already beat port vale in the vans trophy though :cool: 6-0 or something.

I wouldn't think it would take a huge toll, the main toll is usually on the hosts machine, so it would be best for someone with broadband.

I LOVE THIS GAME

My Torquay team is amazing, a mixture of talent bought over the summer and the older guys, its a great squad, and we already won the Charity Shield 2-0 over Man U. My aim is to not get relegated, then build on it.

Somehow, while winning 2-0 against Southampton, in the 93rd minute, I managed to throw it away to 2-2.
