The Naitch 06-24-2011 08:54 PM

Is anybody else interested in Mark Henry right now?

I'm not

They did this already with his feud with The Undertaker before WrestleMania 22

Why is he angry all of a sudden? since moving to Smackdown! I need a FILL ME IN. Last time I saw him he was smiling with Yoshi Tatsu on RAW. I liked him better as a smiling fat black guy

WE WANT WRESTLE WE WANT WRESTLE WE WANT WRESTLE WE WANT WRESTLE WE WANT WRESTLE WE WANT WRESTLE WE WANT WRESTLE WE WANT WRESTLE WE WANT WRESTLE WE WANT WRESTLE WE WANT WRESTLE WE WANT WRESTLE WE WANT WRESTLE WE WANT WRESTLE

James Steele 06-24-2011 08:55 PM

They have done this at least 5 other times since WrestleMania 22 with Mark Henry. Meh.

Innovator 06-24-2011 09:12 PM

Fuck all of you. Mark Henry will split your wig and laugh doing it. He's come a long way since Sexual Chocolate.

screech 06-24-2011 09:25 PM

I used to hate Mark Henry. I've grown to like him.

screech 06-24-2011 09:26 PM

So my answer to your question would be yes.

CSL 06-24-2011 09:27 PM

I am a fan. Dunno about right now, only thing I've seen from him since Mania was attacking show at the last PPV

VSG 06-24-2011 09:28 PM

Yeah I guess. As interested as I'm gonna be in him anyway.

I've been a fan of his since his ECW days

Juan 06-24-2011 09:45 PM

Which was like 12 years after his debut

Jordan 06-25-2011 12:43 AM

I really like him a lot the past few years so yes.

Aguakate 06-25-2011 12:46 AM

...Dude, Mark Henry is reaching "that" level where only Undertaker and Triple H have been in the WWE longer than he has...he's been there since 1996, I think...that's 15 years!

The Naitch 06-25-2011 01:55 AM

wasn't he released for a few years and then came back though? I swear he wasn't around for 15 years straight. Unless tyou count injuries.

I DUNNO

Aguakate 06-25-2011 01:58 AM

...He's been there at least, like...12 years all together or something...

...he's been in the WWE longer than anyone expected, that's for sure...

The Naitch 06-25-2011 02:13 AM

why do they keep him? Is he a good worker? Loyal? Surprised he LASTED so long for a guy who isn't a draw and to me is a POOR MAN's Big SHOW

just like this thread is THE POOR MAN's Anybody Thrilla thread

Aguakate 06-25-2011 02:23 AM

...I have no idea how he's stuck around for so long while producing so little...

...maybe he's just a genuinely nice guy that Vince likes.

GD 06-25-2011 03:23 AM

Mark Henry will go on to unify both the WWE and World Heavyweight titles at Wrestlemania.

LOL WTF

The Naitch 06-25-2011 03:38 AM

looks like Roadblock from GI Joe

DaVe 06-25-2011 03:53 AM

Mark Henry is awesome. And a good guy.

GD 06-25-2011 03:58 AM

There was this backstage video of his (probably after he was drafted to smackdown) where tears started coming out of his eyes. I so wanted to hug him.

Nah, never released but he was in developmental for a couple years.

Rammsteinmad 06-25-2011 09:09 AM

Another month, another Mark Henry thread...

He still sucks. He's boring and never does anything that interests me. After 15 years I'm still waiting to see what's so good about the guy.

But he seems like a nice guy in real life. :)

whiteyford 06-25-2011 11:04 AM

Hes pretty much the same as Big Show/Kane/Khali etc for me, a big guy who looks imposing but you know he's just there to put newer guys over between squash matches. Too many stop/start pushes and turns for me to really buy into as a legit main eventer.

LK 06-25-2011 11:26 AM

Nope, he does not. Seen this push before and it failed then. Lets just hope he doesn't injure someone else this time.

Rammsteinmad 06-25-2011 11:39 AM

Does anyone know an exact number of Mark Henry pushes we've seen? Would be interesting to know how many times he starts up a push and then gets dropped.

Maybe that's the better word for me as well. I don't groan when I see him on TV anymore.

Anybody Thrilla 06-25-2011 01:55 PM

I almost sold him a portable discman in 2001. Therefore, I will love him forever.

I am really curious to know more about this.

Anybody Thrilla 06-25-2011 02:02 PM

I worked at a music store in the mall and he came in. He was looking for a discman, and I showed him a few different ones. He said thanks and left. The end.

GD 06-25-2011 02:05 PM

Cool.

Mark Henry said "Thanks" and left...

...I don't know why that made me giggle :)

Honestly, I don't think his latest pushes were meant to propel him into superstardom.

djoutcry 06-25-2011 07:15 PM

Always have been a fan of Mark Henry, and always will be. He just needs to be pushed the right way. He works better as a face, but not a jobbing sorta face.

fix'd.

Okay, on to my opinion.

I am very interested in Mark Henry right now.

Disclaimer: I didn't watch this week's Smackdown! yet. About to do that now.

With that said, I've stated before that I love this type of heel Mark Henry- hurting people "because he can". I wouldn't be adverse to a World Title run like this. He runs roughshod over would-be challengers, then comes face to "newly turned" face (a-la Lex/Yoko... only without the damned bus) with Sheamus. Seriously, the man is overdue. They finally pulled the trigger on a Christian heel turn, so why the hell not? Either that, or an "underdog" that's not Rey or Cena*. Someone who can believably take that next step and bests an overconfident WSM.

*not important that Cena is currently on RAW. Point was "Cena Wins", even though he's always somehow billed as the underdog.

DAMN iNATOR 06-27-2011 02:58 PM

I'm actually fine with him as he is. He was AWFUL when he was the "big black Mr. Rogers" always smiling like :D guy. He's at his best when he's angry and kicking serious ass.

Also, I know he didn't really say it, I just misinterpreted it, but a week or two ago on RAW (I forget which since the last 2 were both 3-hour cross brand shows...), but it definitely sounded like as he was leaving he said "My blood don't pump kool-aid!"

Ermaximus 06-27-2011 03:01 PM

As long as he keeps beating the shit out of Orton, I'm ok with him being on my television once a week.

I dunno. I guess maybe I'm just one of a "dying breed" of fans who likes big huge monster guys beat the ever-loving fuck out of one another. You don't get many big man vs. other big man programs these days in wrestling and I think it's kind of a shame, because it can be great when done right.

Ermaximus 06-27-2011 03:23 PM

That's because most of their big men are past their primes, always injured, not entertaining at all.

Taker-Pretty much done.
Kane-Nearing his final days, but will still go.
Big Show-See Kane.
Khali-You can't be serious.
Zeke-Potential.
Mason Ryan-He's green as shit, clumsy as fuck, and not really entertaining.

Taker it Easy 06-28-2011 07:07 PM

I like what is going on with Mark Henry. Hopefully they will take it seriously, yeah right, and let him be a threat like his is now and should be.

He has some of the best entrance music and his body is scary. What he can do to you is scary. Few reasons he should not have a belt if he can continue doing well on the mic.

He could be like a black Vader.

Yeah, his theme is one of the best right now...I can remember when he had one of the worst entrance themes:

<iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/IDPevK57yKQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

"THE BEAT KICKS, AND THEN I START ROCKIN'!" REALLY?!:nono:

Xero 06-28-2011 07:54 PM

Really.

Jordan 06-28-2011 09:08 PM

LOL when the fuck did he use that?

Anybody Thrilla 06-28-2011 10:24 PM

That theme was amazing for all the wrong reasons.

Ermaximus 06-28-2011 11:10 PM

Is that Run DMC?

Anybody Thrilla 06-28-2011 11:17 PM

No. They only did that DX remix.

Also, I kinda marked out when Big Show got put through the cage. It was pretty bad ass. Mark Henry is good right now.

Ermaximus 06-28-2011 11:20 PM

Ok. It sounded like them, but I wasn't sure so I wanted a 2nd opinion.

Henry vs. Big Show at MitB. Your thoughts ABT?

Anybody Thrilla 06-28-2011 11:22 PM

It might be a decent smash mouth brawl if they keep it short and have another big spot planned that will outshine the cage spot on Raw.

Ermaximus 06-28-2011 11:24 PM

Show vs. Henry in a Last Man Standing Match?

Anybody Thrilla 06-28-2011 11:27 PM

Actually, that idea makes perfect sense right now.

BigDaddyCool 06-28-2011 11:30 PM

I like Mark Henry. Then again I like big muscle men.

Also, Mark is one of the blackest people I have ever seen. I mean seriously dude is Bella dark.

weather vane 06-28-2011 11:30 PM

so terrible

Ermaximus 06-28-2011 11:30 PM

I mean, if they're going to put those 2 into a gimmick match, that's the only one I'd want to see them in.

Anybody Thrilla 06-28-2011 11:32 PM

I think they could pull off a pretty good bra and panties match.

Ermaximus 06-28-2011 11:33 PM

Pillow fight?

DAMN iNATOR 06-29-2011 01:08 PM

Nah, Hornswoggle on a Pole.

captaincharismark 07-02-2011 09:18 PM

The problem with Mark Henry is the WWE starts a major heel push for him, then drops it for no reason. Just like when he attacked Batista in the steel cage and destroyed him. After Batista surrendered the World Title, Mark Henry didn't even get a shot at it. Now, he's putting Kane and Big Show through tables, throwing technicians off the stage and even pinning Orton in tag matches. Most logical ppl would think that would lead to a title run. But, apparently logic isn't a factor here. On SD yesterday, he was RKO'd by Orton outside the ring and counted out. After the 3 weeks of dominance, WWE effectively killed whatever momentum he built up in his attacks.

Granted Mark Henry isn't the most talented person on SD, but WWE needs to decide whether to push him properly or release him. I'm sure most fan like me are tired of seeing push after push die then be subjected to yet another period of pointless wandering with no direction...

Anybody Thrilla 07-03-2011 12:57 PM

I thought it was pretty cool when he tossed the technician off stage. I've marked out for him twice in the past two weeks, which is probably more than I have throughout his entire career.

The Naitch 07-03-2011 01:05 PM

He needs to be Teddy Long's muscle or something on the lines of that, if they don't use him as a legit contender

XCaliber 07-03-2011 04:49 PM

I'd mark out even more if he did that to a talentless person like The Great Khali or Jinder Mahal:love:

well then there's history now. Makes more sense to have them reallign with eachother

Teddy is being bullied backstage, being called a HOMO so he calls up his old friend Mark Henry to BACK THE MACK

Hell, might as well bring back Red Dogg RODNEY MACK, wherever he's at. Hell, might as well bring John Cena along as well.

What's the name of that song? Pretty tight.

Anybody Thrilla 07-16-2011 12:02 PM

I like his current theme song, but that song fits his current character beautifully.

Rock Bottom 07-17-2011 03:00 PM

He could be tag teamed with D'Lo Brown.

DaVe 07-18-2011 10:15 AM

i think this answers your question: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33rSUP9czkI

yeah, its pretty sweet. disappointed to find out its just some production theme, though. Jim Johnston should use his magic on it.

Anybody Thrilla 07-19-2011 02:09 PM

Wow, pretty impressive for a production theme. Never noticed the dude rapping was British (I'm assuming) until hearing the whole thing now.

Rock Bottom 07-20-2011 01:50 AM

You want to use Mark Henry right and make people give a shit?

Have him walk in during any title match that takes place. Anywhere. Have him do this for all the titles, except maybe the Divas, but I think doing it to the divas title would just make it fucking hilarious on top of everything else.

What does he do? Lays everyone out. Takes the belt, walks off. When people call him out, have him dare people to take the titles from him.

Have this culminate during a WWE Championship match, where the guys have seen it happen enough times to the other titles and be "ready for him." Have interference from the other guys who have had their titles stolen from them, and a big massive beat down occur from which Henry actually comes back and destroys everyone, but the champ (maybe Miz would fit in here) runs off with his belt.

Have the "police" get involved and the titles taken from him. This could cause all sorts of chaos. Royal Rumble hits near the end of this angle, and Henry is the first entrant.

Yeah, even Henry could draw.

Kami Raki 07-21-2011 04:34 PM

"My heart don't pump Kool-Aid"- The best thing Henry has said during this run.
