Official TNA IMPACT! Thread 08/04/2011

Because someone has to watch it.

Kurt Angle and Sting sign their title match contract

Bound for Glory Series

Devon vs. AJ Styles

Samoa Joe vs. The Pope

Droford 08-04-2011 09:09 PM

so Anderson/Bully Ray at the PPV..as if anyones gonna care..yea

el bobbo 08-04-2011 09:16 PM

The wholAnderson joining the stable was pretty stupid. The names for both stables are stupid too.

Ms Tessmacher just kissed Tara. I'll watch.

Droford 08-04-2011 09:23 PM

Fourtune was supposed to be the Four Horsemen led by Flair but they couldnt use the name..

Droford 08-04-2011 09:25 PM

Samoa Joe still has ZERO

ridiculous

Savio 08-04-2011 09:27 PM

What is this BFG series?

DaveBrawl 08-04-2011 09:30 PM

It's a points standings system they have for 8 or so wrestlers and the top guy come Bound For Glory gets a title shot at that show.

Droford 08-04-2011 09:31 PM

Points will be earned on a variety of shows (IMPACT, PPV, House Shows) in a variety of match types). The four competitors with the most points will wrestle at No Surrender. The one who wins will earn a World Title shot at Bound For Glory.

HOW POINTS WILL BE EARNED
Submission Victory- 10 Points
Pinfall Victory- 7 Points
Countout Victory- 5 Points
DQ Victory- 3 Points
Draw- 2 Points
DQ- -10 Points

The participants involved are:
Rob Van Dam
AJ Styles
Gunner
Bully Ray
Crimson
James Storm
Matt Morgan (who got 24 points and then had to pull out with a torn pec last week)
Devon
Scott Steiner
The Pope
Bobby Roode
Samoa Joe

Rollermacka 08-04-2011 09:34 PM

D-Von lookin pretty good both in ring and physically. He was always the more in shape one in Team 3D, I think the split actually helped both of their careers

SlickyTrickyDamon 08-04-2011 09:37 PM

Pope vs. Samoa Joe: The Feud Nobody Understood.

SlickyTrickyDamon 08-04-2011 09:42 PM

What in this shit commercials is Impact/Spike TV getting? The fuck?

Droford 08-04-2011 09:43 PM

Joe needs to get off the schneid

Rollermacka 08-04-2011 09:44 PM

Lol, a Summer Fest commercial durring Impact

Droford 08-04-2011 09:46 PM

joe gets 10 points only to lose those 10 points and 10 more points..hahaha

haahahah

really

hahahah..

Rollermacka 08-04-2011 09:47 PM

Was that Joe's climax face when he had that choke in?

el bobbo 08-04-2011 09:53 PM

I think Keith Stone would fit in better on IMPACT than Raw.

el bobbo 08-04-2011 09:54 PM

How is Bubba Ray ... Bully Ray this high up on their roster?

Rollermacka 08-04-2011 10:02 PM

That mask really throws off Sarita. I read that she suffered "sudden partial facial paralysis" Does anyone know if it is something that has happen before to her, can she recover from it?

DaveBrawl 08-04-2011 10:04 PM

I thought they only counted Joe's loss as a DQ, at least that's what Tenay kept saying.

SlickyTrickyDamon 08-04-2011 10:10 PM

So why did Joe resign with TNA?

Droford 08-04-2011 10:10 PM

Pope got 3 points and Joe lost 10 meaning he has -10 points now.

Also, I think Mexican America beats Beer Money for the belts at the PPV.

Droford 08-04-2011 10:15 PM

that spinning figure four looks awesome

DaveBrawl 08-04-2011 10:15 PM

They probably will. It's only a matter of time until they break them up and try to send Roode after the World title.

DaveBrawl 08-04-2011 10:17 PM

Brainbustah

Rollermacka 08-04-2011 10:21 PM

Hmm, 3 X division stars to debut next week. I'm gonna say its gonna be Curry Man, Kash, and Amazing Red under another crappy mask

Droford 08-04-2011 10:24 PM

1 of them will make the 4 way BFGS match at No Surrender.

and EY's beard is getting pretty epic..he might have more hair on his face than his head.

Emperor Smeat 08-04-2011 10:25 PM

It could also be the 3 guys that lost at the last ppv even though the whole purpose of the contract match was just for 1 new wrestler in the X-division.

Rollermacka 08-04-2011 10:25 PM

Anybody miss the Eric Young that lead World Elite/ part of the Band?

SlickyTrickyDamon 08-04-2011 10:26 PM

No.

Was that Scott Baio with the golfclub?

el bobbo 08-04-2011 10:26 PM

Empty Arena Match? What's the difference between that and a normal TNA match?

el bobbo 08-04-2011 10:33 PM

Did they end those Taco Bell commercials with that annoying Indian guy from The Daily Show?

Rollermacka 08-04-2011 10:35 PM

You gotta love the fact that around a month ago Steiner and Crimson werea tag team apposing Immortal

el bobbo 08-04-2011 10:35 PM

Steiner works 100 times better as a heel..

One of the few random heel/face flipflops TNA does that I didnt mind

Aguakate 08-04-2011 10:52 PM

...Can't believe they've stuck with the name "Bully Ray".

Yea, Steiner is a natural heel.

This Hardcore Justice card actually looks pretty good. I mean I'm not gonna order it, but I might look for a bar that might be showing it :-\

Aguakate 08-04-2011 10:55 PM

LOL the contract reads, in large, bold letters: "WORLD TITLE MATCH".

DaveBrawl 08-04-2011 10:56 PM

Sting's fashion sense has increased incredibly since he went insane.

Aguakate 08-04-2011 10:56 PM

Kurt Angle's voice sounds different...either that, or it's been a long time since I've heard him talk.

DaveBrawl 08-04-2011 10:57 PM

Is that podium really necessary for a contract signing? Looks like they're gonna play Family Feud.

el bobbo 08-04-2011 10:58 PM

When did Heath Ledger come back to life? It looks like Sting's born-again bullshit paid off for him.

el bobbo 08-04-2011 10:58 PM

In 3 days...

DaveBrawl 08-04-2011 11:00 PM

I understand that everyone respects Kurt Angle or even HBK in the WWE but theoretically shouldn't they all at least act like they all believe they are the greatest ever. Maybe it's me, but it looks kind of weird when the world champion is saying someone else is the best wrestler in the company or the best of all time.

Aguakate 08-04-2011 11:01 PM

Whoa...when did Steve Austin do a movie called "Damage"? LOL

DaveBrawl 08-04-2011 11:02 PM

Steve Austin soliloquy going on right now.

Rollermacka 08-04-2011 11:03 PM

I missed that last segment, I was watching Cow & Chicken. Did I miss anything?

DaveBrawl 08-04-2011 11:04 PM

I was checking out WWE's site earlier looking for their live events schedule and apparently Austin has a new movie that just came out on dvd. Also the KISS Demon is today's where are they now.

I always enjoyed that guy.

Not really. Just Angle and Sting reminding us about how much they respect each other.

el bobbo 08-04-2011 11:06 PM

Good point Davebrawl. This is where you have to have "wrestling logic" over real logic.

They want to play up Angle's real wrestling stuff to promote the company. It kind of sucks for the story for this PPV, but I get it.

I love being able to go right from TNA to The Daily Show instead of having to watch it the next day after Raw.

Aguakate 08-04-2011 11:09 PM

I'd guess Sting is winning...since Angle is training in hopes of going to the '12 Olympics...AND, of course, TNA is Dixie Carter's company...not Hogan's, not Bischoff's...

el bobbo 08-04-2011 11:16 PM

They're gearing up Crimson for a huge title run. Unless something stupid happens with booking (which it probably will) they can build up this guy pretty hardcore.

Im a genuine fan of Beer Money. They really relate to my lifestyle (no sarcasm).

I remember he was ok, if he didn't get the Demon gimmick he would have just been another generic big man. I think WCW had the idea this it was suppose to be a "scary evil monster" but its Kiss. On top of that avaerage fans really cared about Kiss since the early 90s (I think that was the last time they had a hit song)

I never got this. Did he have KISS'S approval in doing this? I mean, was he backed by them or something?

Emperor Smeat 08-05-2011 01:05 AM

Yes it was part of the contract WCW had with the band and I think it was the band themselves who thought of the idea for the wrestler.

In the Death of WCW, Bischoff assumed this would have given the company a huge advantage in the mainstream over the WWF but WCW never made any money from the crossover nor regained the money in sales to make up for the contract.

Quote:

WCW head Eric Bischoff struck a deal with the rock band KISS to create a KISS themed wrestler, "The KISS Demon", a gimmick that was meant to be the wrestling alter ego of performer Gene Simmons. The gimmick was played once by Brian Adams, rejected by him, and given to Torborg. He was managed by Asya, who he later married. The "Demon" character was originally supposed to be the beginning of a stable called The Warriors of KISS, in which the other original members of the band would have a wrestler representing their look and gimmick.[3] KISS was guaranteed their "Demon" themed wrestler would wrestle a Main Event match with the contract they made with WCW.

Aguakate 08-05-2011 01:20 AM

Geez...now that's horrible...

...I even remember that "Kiss Demon" showing up in a Florida Marlins game for some reason...I think his dad was the Marlins' Manager at the time.

How much does Spike TV own of TNA?

IDK, but Sting said TNA is Dixie's company, and that he will not let Bischoff and Hogan take over, so, you KNOW he's going to win.
