Brodus Clay

He returned last week on superstars in a squash match and has another one this week. anybody else like him? I like him a lot. He has a cool look.

<iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Qy0M-DXMkis" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

whiteyford 08-11-2011 02:29 PM

Hes like a full sized Taz with all the suplexes, pretty agile for the size he is too.

Gertner 08-11-2011 02:30 PM

Pretty neat to see a high cross body used as a finisher, but it looks cool after he hits the Avalanche.

whiteyford 08-11-2011 02:31 PM

Is he through with Del Rio now?

Gertner 08-11-2011 02:31 PM

I think so

Emperor Smeat 08-11-2011 02:41 PM

I liked him during last season of NXT and wanted him to win instead of Curtis.

He was good as a bodyguard style character for Del Rio and could have helped Del Rio a lot more to have him drafted to RAW instead of being split up.

Battlekat 08-11-2011 02:43 PM

I'll definitely have to check this out when I get out of work. I do remember him having an awesome/menacing look when he was Del Rio's bodyguard. I'd imagine the Crossbody looks awesome as a finisher.

Rammsteinmad 08-11-2011 02:45 PM

You can't stand Christian, yet you think Brodus Clay has a cool look? The fuck is wrong with you?

Wishbone 08-11-2011 03:31 PM

Brodus is pretty awesome probably one of my favorite things to come out of NXT. Would love to see them use him more down the line dude has the skills to fill that 'Big man' role extremely well and his matches arn't total snooze fests like some of the bigger guys WWE has.

He does have a cool look and Christian is good but horribly over-rated by the IWC. He's Marty Jannetty in 2011

Supreme Olajuwon 08-11-2011 04:35 PM

I like him I just wish he'd cover up all that cellulite on his legs.

You think that's bad, for awhile in FCW they had him in the short tights with no shirt on. He looked like he was wearing a diaper with his stomach hanging over

Juan 08-11-2011 05:23 PM

He kinda sucks tbh.

Shisen Kopf 08-11-2011 05:48 PM

Brodus Clay is a fat slob. The end.

dude is whack slow fat and a clod.

Aguakate 08-11-2011 11:16 PM

Pretty soon we'll have some threads here where members rant about Brodus Clay's "lack of a push"...

...coming soon.

Shisen Kopf 08-11-2011 11:29 PM

Why give him a push? He's total crap. He gets to stick around but Masters and Kozlov get the boot. Turrible!

Wait, is that first guy King Kong Bundy, or Butterbean?

I know, I know. Just sayin'. Looks like Butterbean in that promo photo, sans Apollo Creed trunks.

Also, perfect opportunity for this again:

RiX1024 08-12-2011 05:39 AM

all we need is him to reintroduce the 5 count.

Battlekat 08-12-2011 08:45 AM

I watched this when I got home from work (no video capabilities here). I was thinking a crossbody off the top when I originally read this thread. That finisher is shit and they should definitely change it.

Autobahn 08-12-2011 08:46 AM

I like him, but every time he jumps around it looks like a boob will pop out of his outfit.

wwe2222 08-12-2011 09:21 AM

I happen to like him a lot. Has a different look to him. Would do great as a bodyguard type guy.

Hanso Amore 08-12-2011 10:28 AM

I think if they are serious about rebuilding the tag ranks, a Big n Small team of Brodus Clay and another new young guy could be a solid Heel Tag Team. Give them a moutpiece and get it going.

Pair him with Kidd? Or someone from developmental.

I really like that idea actually, that sounds like it'd be a pretty sweet tag team :y:

Rammsteinmad 08-12-2011 01:48 PM

Just watched his second squash match this week on Superstars. This guy sucks. All the people who are acting like 'he's something else' or whatever, what the fuck are you watching? He's like any other immobile big man. And his Crossbody is pretty shit to be honest. Would look better if he just charged into his opponent, kinda like The Pounce.

Rammsteinmad 08-12-2011 01:49 PM

As a bodyguard (like he did with Del Rio) he works fine, though.

Vastardikai 08-12-2011 03:14 PM

Brodus' Crossbody < Tursas' Crossbody

<iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/0LwOBGtK7mE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Lock Jaw 08-12-2011 04:31 PM

Just watched Brodus squash that kid from Tough Enough.

I like Brodus. Not in the way that I want to see him as a world champion or anything... but in the "old school big fat wrestler guy who can always look like a threat even if they aren't".

Gertner 08-12-2011 04:34 PM

btw, I LOVE fat wrestler squashing small wrestler. Where's Big Daddy V when you need him.

thedamndest 08-12-2011 04:58 PM

He looks like he could be a pretty decent big man if he could lose 50 pounds. He's gassed after two minutes. He looks like something I would have made ten years ago in WWE Attitude. Which is not a good thing.

Mr. Nerfect 08-12-2011 07:11 PM

I like the guy enough. I find him intriguing at the moment. I don't think the dude is ready for any sort of big angle just yet, though. I'd keep him squashing guys on Superstars for a few weeks, and see if his shtick starts to get over. I'd be more interested if he used a different move to win every match.

I don't understand why the WWE ruined his relationship with Del Rio, though. I thought they went together really well.

Nicky Fives 08-12-2011 07:26 PM

He seems like a fresh face with a different look, but he definitely needs a mouthpiece.....

Gertner 08-13-2011 11:51 AM

Here's his match this week. i thought he looked better this week than last week.

To be honest he sucks ass.

I watched every episode..... everyone on NXT 4 sucked balls at cutting promos.....

Mr. C 12-20-2011 11:30 PM

No Brodus Clay once again this week. He wasn’t even mentioned.

If they weren’t bringing back R-Truth as a face, I’d be all for a tag team with him and Clay.

Mr. C 12-21-2011 08:15 PM

With Big Show, Kane, Kevin Nash, and The Undertaker aging and nearing the end of their careers, Brodus Clay seems like a prospect to keep under contract. He stands out, and if the WWE thinks he’s not ready, they’re mistaken.

Swiss Ultimate 12-21-2011 08:18 PM

The WWE does need a few good stand-by monsters. I'm not against this guy being the next big man with a long-term push.

Gertner 01-14-2012 10:37 AM

Mmmmmm, I love when I'm always right.

whiteyford 01-14-2012 10:42 AM

.......hopefully everybody has forgotten my "Percy Watson will be the number 2 face in the company after Cena by the end of 2011"

whiteyford 01-14-2012 10:49 AM

I predicted big things for Husky Harris so you were closer than me

Gertner 01-14-2012 10:58 AM

I still maintain Watson is gonna be a star. He's much too overall talented to be stuck in NXT.

Pintint 01-14-2012 12:52 PM

I hope so, Percy is awesome!

Gertner 01-14-2012 02:31 PM

Go fuck a stuffed unicorn

Rollermacka 01-20-2012 08:51 PM

I want a GIF of Brodus Clay shaking his ass, as my Avatar :naughty:

What for? I never said that Clay was horrible... in fact, he gets decent response from the crowd. Time will tell if this will get him where he wants to be...

Meanwhile, until he gets his real match instead of squash matches, I will watch for Naomi...

Mr. C 01-23-2012 10:00 PM

I want to see Brodus Clay and Santino Marella cross paths and bust moves. Give them a run with the belts.

Heyman 01-24-2012 05:35 PM

I don't know about you guys but I'm absolutely loving Brodus Clay's gimmick.

Usually when someone gets a monster push upon debuting, it's as a heel. In that sense, there is a little bit of uniqueness in the way the WWE are pushing Brodus Clay. I like that.

Brodus Clay reminds me a little of 'Roofus' from Street Fighter, lol.

Tornado 01-25-2012 08:08 AM

I havn't really been watching WWE for a while now, but I find myself recording Raw and Smackdowns every week...just for Brodus Clay. Immense.

Disturbed316 01-25-2012 01:11 PM

The Cat did this gimmick better...

MisterLee 01-25-2012 01:16 PM

There's something Funky about this guy. I think he should team up with Santino.

Schlomey 01-25-2012 01:27 PM

I like him but that will probably wear off in a few weeks.

Kris P Lettus 02-02-2012 01:20 PM

Have never seen him wrestle but he was a villain in a shitty horror movie I did last summer called "No One Lives".. he was super nice guy..

#1-norm-fan 02-03-2012 10:51 AM

So... he's on the Raw roster, right? I'm just confused because it makes no sense for him to be on Smackdown too. If he were on the Smackdown roster though, it would make sense since Smackdown guys can appear regularly on Raw.

God, this roster split is shit.

Lock Jaw 02-03-2012 05:47 PM

You can't contain a Funkasaurus.

Damndirty 02-03-2012 07:11 PM

Brodus, Mark Henry, and Husky Harris in a new stable called the Sweaty Fat Fucks.

AMEN!

Shisen Kopf 02-03-2012 07:21 PM

Brodus Clay is amusing for now but this gimmick will get old quick and then he'll just be another fat slob. They shoulda given him the gimmick of the Revolting Blob. Just like Big Show needs to be captain insano before he dies of big bastard syndrome next year.

dingdongyo 02-03-2012 10:47 PM

as soon as the big monster bad guy loses, no one cares. this is at least fun and not the same cycle.

Shisen Kopf 02-04-2012 11:36 PM

WWE dropped the ball on what coulda been an even better gimmick than Funkasaurus. He should have been called "The Great Humpty" look at the resemblance.

http://images.wikia.com/shrek/images...pty_Dumpty.png

St. Jimmy 02-04-2012 11:47 PM

Brodus should've been brought in as a monster, built up with some insane gimmick and then he could feud with Kane after this horrible Cena/Kane program dies.

Instead, we have this:

St. Jimmy 02-04-2012 11:49 PM

Also, this should be his theme:

You should have posted a George Carlin special instead.
