Should WWE replace the first Sin Cara with the new guy?
For those that don't know by now, WWE is evidently replacing the original Sin Cara with someone else under the mask (supposedly Hunico) while the actual person under the mask finishes serving his suspension. Considering there were rumors going around that WWE wasn't going to bring "Sin Cara" back, do you think they'll release the first guy and keep Hunico under the mask instead?
|
Honestly, they can, and if he can work a similar style but better mesh with WWE's he absolutely should.
Honestly, he probably should either way. Mistico has been a complete and utter mess thus far. At the very least they should send him down to FCW as "Sin Cara II" or some shit for a while as this Sin Cara stays on the main roster. The character is what draws. As long as they have similar styles (and since this guy has played Mistico in the past, he must) there's no reason to keep around someone who is going to cause WWE problems, in ring and/or out of the ring. The new guy will probably be a shitload cheaper, too. |
I don't see them doing this since it's one of Triple H's first finds. If he comes back from this and keeps botching/failing wellness tests I could see him being released before the end of the year.
|
This one's easy!
They'll bring back the original Sin Cara for an "Evil Twin" angle. He'll come out and poit at the new Sin Cara in an accusatory way and the audience will be expectd to fill in the blanks. |

They should have Hunico play Sin Cara and then also play a heel so when he's the heel someone else is Sin Cara but when he's not the heel he is performing as Sin Cara and do it like that forevers.
|
WTF what a piece of shit idea.
|
FUCK U!

I really don't care to be honest.

Mistico's problem was the expectations given to him were too huge from the start combined with the short period of time in FCW to adjust to the WWE style which led to any mistake, big or small, making Triple H looking bad and him rushing certain moves instead of being more relaxed or calm for his matches.
Hunico doesn't have that huge expectation so he can be more calmer and relaxed which is helping him a lot as well as having more time to adjust in FCW. Having him as a backup also gives the WWE a fall-back plan just in case Mistico really can't adjust to the WWE style but the company still wants the Sin Cara character to replace Rey in the future. |
How well did this work for TNA with Suicide?
|
Mistico is a way better wrestler than Hunico, so I hope not.
|
Kevin Nash should be the new Sin Cara. Who could tell the difference?
|
i'll wait until i see this new guy for myself
|
I find it amusing that we are using the term "Sin Cara character", what with him having no character and all.
|
His character is the mask, the lighting and the trampoline entrance.
|
I don't like Sin Cara that much. He's like a poor mans Rey Rey and I don't really like him much. Any Mexican rassler can be Sin Cara as long as they do the flying burrito.

Whoever botches the least in the ring wins

What's Spanish for botch? That should be his name, just put el in front of it.

Physically Epico looks more like Sin Cara then Hunico does unless he's lost some weight since this match was done:

Perhaps more importantly, when are they gonna replace Ezekial Jackson with someone better?

Jokes are Jokes but Owen in my opinion was beyond a wrestler. lots of memorys from the Bret/Owen feud when I was a kid... All my friends liked Bret but I wanted Owen to win and WM so bad when I was kid. |
I really enjoyed whoever was playing Sin Cara on SmackDown! this week. The trampoline entrance looked smoother, his offence was crisper and he even seemed to get a better crowd reaction than the character used to (although that could have just been off the return). Also, Tyson Kidd was the opponent. Kidd has had a great showing against the original Sin Cara, too.
Personally, I don't really care. I agree with Xero, that from a business standpoint, it'd probably be cheaper and more efficient to use the guy they already have had signed in developmental for a couple of years to do the job. You'll get a guy who has already worked with a lot of the WWE roster, knows how to work the WWE style, and most people won't even be able to tell the difference. Down the track, you can bring back the original Sin Cara to even feud with him. I honestly would not mind it. When the WWE does imposter angles, they usually suck -- but I don't think they've tried it with luchadors yet. |
Hunico as Cara > Mistico as Cara. Mistico as Mistico > Hunico as Hunico. Any questions?
|
Who is better, Mistico or Mystico?
|
I like how Booker T was saying "hes put on more muscle" and "hes added moves to his repetoire" despite the fact he was supposed to be out with an injury..

Hmm. So I liked how he showed a little intensity during his entrance and after the match. But I'm not sure if I prefer it. He came off with more mystique before when he wasn't getting really into it. But I can see how the intensity will give him more of a crowd connection. I'm pretty torn right now. I just want a Real Sin Cara vs. Fake Sin Cara feud now.

They should replace Sin Cara with.... SKIP SHEFFIELD

Skip Cara

Answer is no. They'll look too phony.

I am fine with getting rid of Sin Cara or the guy under the mask. I understand that he is working under great odds such as wrestling Americans without knowing english, wrestling in a new company and learning the companies style on the fly but he has never yet impressed me. If the guy does become good and fun or whatever, then great.
I am all for WWE using another man under the mask but I am not ok with this new man doing great, making the fans fall in love with him and then replacing him with the old guy. In this senario basically the old sucky guy would steal the work of the new great guy, don't like it. If they replace him with a new guy perminately, then go for it. I am of the opinion that it is ok to reuse SOME gimmicks. Black Macho was enjoyable and I think with the right talent that it is ok for a new wrestler to inherit an old wrestlers gimmick. |
They should replace hiom with Mike Knox with the beard sticking out from under the mask
|
So that was a different sin cara on smack down last night?
|
Clearly.
|
The announcers awkwardly acknowledged the difference when they were saying how Sin Cara looks 'a bit fatter' or 'gained some muscle' or whatever they said.
|
He didn't look entirely comfortable with the mask, either.
|
Also looked like his botched the very first move of the match.
|
I say either keep using this guy as Sin Cara or have him debut in a similar smile and talk about bad blood they've had in Mexico. maybe even bring in that other guy and develop three luchadore, then when it comes time to replace mysterio the fans can pick... the WCW Cruiser weights wern't all that different from each other or Rey(atleast the Spanish ones and ultimo)
I liked this guy much better but he seems regular sized (wasn't he bigger then Tyson Kidd?) He also cleared that top rope better then ive ever seen the other guy pull it off. |
After watching the match, I think there's definitely reason to think that they might do the Sin Cara vs fake Sin Cara angle. References to his changed appearance, new arsenal of moves and trouble with the mask may allude to the fact the commentators notice something different, and unusual, about Sin Cara and so should the audience.

It wouldn't actually be a bad feud, after thinking about it. One idea could be as follows:
In two weeks, after winning a third consecutive match, Sin Cara is celebrating in the ring when another Sin Cara (the original) appears on the ramp and does his whole pointing thing. He storms to the ring and attacks the fake SC, before being separated by the referees. The commentators act confused and speculate to what is going on. The next week, the same thing happens. Triple H's music hits and he comes to the ring to intervene. He asks who the imposter is, and both SCs point to themselves. HHH says he has no option and threatens to suspend both men. At this point, Zack Ryder hits the ring and grabs a microphone.... Ryder explains that as assistant GM, he did something terrible, but for the good of the show. He understood the huge roll SC has to play on Smackdown, and the show would be worse without him. He had no idea when, or even if, Sin Cara would recover from his injuries at MITB, so he did acted to fill the void and hired someone to be the new SC. Ryder talks to both men, and looks confused. He says he does not know which of them is the man he hired, but it's time that man did the right thing and left. Both SC remain motionless, so Ryder begs the imposter to come forward. After pleading, HHH grows tired and fires Ryder for not only lying to the wrestlers and management, but to the fans. As Ryder leaves, HHH says they'll settle this the WWE way: in a match at the next PPV... Mask VS Mask. The loser, regardless of whether he is the imposter or original, is stripped of the mask and is fired just like Ryder. At the match, original SC triumphs and removes imposter SC's mask to reveal Hunico in his mask. The commentators pretend they know who Hunico is (maybe acknowledged as another Mexican superstar) and the balance in the WWE is restored. The following week, Hunico attacks SC during his first official match back and is accompanied and now managed by heel Ryder. Thus begins feud between Sin Cara and Hunico, managed by Zack Ryder. |
I was also toying with the idea that Sin Cara should come out the following week and through a translator explain that the image of Sin Cara is soiled, and as a result he can't be SC anymore. Sin Cara removes his mask to reveal his Mistico mask, and explains from this moment on, he will be known as Mistico again. "To take a step forward, you have to take a step back", and the feud becomes Hunico vs Mistico.
|
they need more luchadores for him to work in my opinion anyway, and from there they can bring in indy talent to work with him like they did in the 90's with the light-heavyweights.
so those two other FCW guys seem ideal, just do a sin-cara vs sin cara vs sin car three way maybe... |
I would be fine with never seeing Sin Cara at all, ever again.
|
Must admit after watching the match he did a great job but it's still way too obvious that it's not the same guy it's just as bad as Fake Kane.
|
It was obvious due to the fact the guy was a bit taller and little less in shape and did none of the moves of Sin Cara v.1 but I dunno. None of the people seemed to notice/care. If they did they didnt speak up about it and the kids don't care. Either way, Sin Cara is a Doink. You can throw whoever you want in a Santa Claus suit and call him Santa Claus as far as the current target audience is concerned.
I dunno. I had hopes for Mistico but I guess the way they did Cara like that means it doesn't really matter if it's Mistico at all. Sin Cara is just another character; if they wanted to they could throw any other Luchadore from Mexico under it and call em Sin Cara, which is what I'm sure they'll do if Mistico blows it again. |

Maybe this is all to test the waters for switching Rey when he eventually retires. Gotta keep that cash-cow going. :shifty:

Side note, maybe WWE should bring back Skippy with a mask. He dosent have to have a "gimmick" behind it, he'll just monster heel who wears a mask. |

Meltzer reckons that Mistico will be brought back at some point, and it will be revealed that the current Sin Cara is an imposter, leading to a feud.
It could work if “Sin Cara” started to act heelish, after which, the original would appear. |
So was it Hunico or Mystico that botched that match with Slater last night?
|
Mistico reportedly returned at a house show last Saturday, so I assume he wrestled Slater last night. Guess we'll be able to tell body-wise this Friday.
I'm starting to think the imposter idea isn't happening, unless it does turn out to be Hunico who wrestled Slater. |
keep Mistico as Sin Cara..... They can bring up the other guy to possibly feud with him, or form a 3-way Tag Team of sorts.....
