DWI... It's True

From TMZ:

Kurt Angle
Arrested for DWI

http://ll-media.tmz.com/2011/09/04/0...gle-mug-ex.jpg
Wrestling legend Kurt Angle was arrested early this morning on charges of driving under the influence ... TMZ has learned.

Angle was busted by Virginia State Troopers and taken to Warren County Jail. He posted $2,000 bond and was released at 3:31 AM.

Angle won the gold medal in wrestling at the 1996 Olympics before turning to professional wrestling. He made his name in the WWE and is currently under contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

Nah, Hogan would probably tell him he was going to give everyone in the precinct big boots and leg drops until he'd run so wild with Hulkamania that the cops dropped all the charges...

Essentially the same thing he told Nick to comfort him.

Corndad 09-04-2011 08:41 PM

Dude. Angle. What have you become. You were once my favorite wrestler. Remember in college doing an interview with your old Wrestling coach at Clarion and how he spoke so highly of you. It's just turning into a really bad joke now. C'mon man.:(

AGAIN???

Shisen Kopf 09-04-2011 09:09 PM

Angle is a retard. It's like every descision he has made since 2006 on is wrong.

Rammsteinmad 09-04-2011 11:16 PM

Really sad to see what's happening to Angle.

But at the same time, that mug shot is hilarious.

Aguakate 09-04-2011 11:24 PM

I hope he gets a hold of his drinking before it gets a hold of him...

...it'd be SO HORRIBLE to see him end up like Scott Hall, the Hardyz, etc, only because he couldn't control himself.

Rock Bottom 09-05-2011 12:27 AM

Damn. This guy was a legit bad-ass. What happened? :/

Wishbone 09-05-2011 01:17 AM

God damn......

Team Sheep 09-05-2011 01:50 AM

Fuck I miss Kurt Angle :( Such a huge part of my late childhood/teen years. So sad if he goes down the shitter. Sort yourself out fella. I still live in hope he'll make a surprise comeback to WWE someday...

Mr. Nerfect 09-05-2011 04:42 AM

This is sad news. TNA needs to get rid of guys like Kurt Angle and The Hardys until they sort their shit out. Giving these guys paychecks while they live the lifestyle they do is simply enabling them. Strip Kurt Angle of the World Heavyweight Title, and have Angle spend some time cleaning up his act, resting his body, etc. Have the Bound For Glory Series changed to decide the new World Heavyweight Champion. Go with Robert Roode, and there you have it.

Steveviscious89 09-05-2011 09:32 AM

You know I use to give TNA and mainly Dixie Carter the benefit of the doubt because I honestly do not know what it's like to have a wrestling company at your command...but no longer. This is the same bullcrap trouble that WCW had. They can't keep control of their talent. It's as if they think they can do anything because, as Samoa Joe would say, they don't have the balls to fire them. Better to keep them in bad condition than have them go back to Vince and probably behave. Ugh.....We need another Vince McMahon type person to run TNA....not Dixie freakin Carter or the Hogan/Bischoff regime. They need a prick to run that place so that people know their roles.

From TMZ:

Kurt Angle
I Was NOT Drunk

http://ll-media.tmz.com/2011/09/05/0...d-1-credit.jpg
Kurt Angle apparently believes he's been FRAMED in connection with his drunk driving arrest Sunday morning ... this according to sources connected with the famous wrestler.

As TMZ first reported, Angle was popped in Virginia after he was allegedly seen driving erratically on I-66.

But Angle's lawyer tells TMZ ... his client passed a breathalyzer test. The lawyer tells us, "We understand Kurt will be entering a plea of not guilty in response to any infractions and/or offenses."

Sources connected with Kurt tell TMZ ... cops are just trying to make an example of him.

The cops are mum, saying the case will be tried in court.

FYI ... someone who is not legally drunk (i.e., someone who passes a breathalyzer test) can still be arrested for driving under the influence if drugs or alcohol -- even minimal amounts -- impair the driver's ability to navigate the road.

Xero 09-05-2011 12:53 PM

Sounds like Kurt was hacked IRL.

Also, it's pretty bad when TMZ has a fucking bio page for you.

(not to you captain fun, to my posting earlier)

there should be a sub forum for DUI

Captain of Fun 09-05-2011 08:40 PM

We can use it for both wrestlers and tpww posters, as the entire lot of you seem like drunk bastards.

Ruien 09-05-2011 08:50 PM

Really hope he is proven innocent.

Mr. JL 09-05-2011 11:22 PM

I really hope he gets proven guilty.

He's been involved in at least three of these drunk driving incidents in recent years. Every time he seems to wiggle his way out through loop holes:

1. Already made it home before the cops could catch up to him after a bunch of people phoned the police on his driving.

2. Already crashed his vehicle while intoxicated and the cop did not technically see him driving.

3. Under the limit but driving enough of an idiot for people to phone the police on him.

Wait. We're blaming TNA (who offer a lighter schedule than WWE) for the shit that these individuals do to themselves?

Flair and Hogan do it because they want to. They willingly tarnish their own legacies.

Matt, Jeff and Angle should be held to account for their actions, we shouldn't be blaming TNA here.

Kurt Angle has provided the Certificate of Blood Alcohol Analysis, which was issued by the state of Virginia. In the document, it states that Angle’s blood alcohol level was .06. .08 is the legal limit in Virginia. He also offered the following comments on the situation…

“I did not believe my driving behavior was reckless or otherwise improper.

I fully cooperated with the officer who clearly recognized me while performing his standard procedures. Subsequent to the stop, I was asked to submit to a breathalyzer test and passed. I do not believe that I broke any laws and will be entering a plea of not guilty in response to any pending charges.

I was returning from an iMPACT Wrestling show in an unfamiliar place, late at night and was trying to find the exit for my hotel.”

Cops Say Kurt Angle Was ‘All Over The Road’

By Ryan Clark on Tuesday, September 6th, 2011 at 4:42 PM EST

We noted earlier that TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle says his blood alcohol level was below the legal limit of Virginia when he was arrested for driving under the influence Sunday morning.

TMZ obtained the Certificate of Blood Alcohol Analysis issued by the State of Virginia which shows Angle’s blood alcohol level was 0.06 at the time of his arrest. The legal limit in Virginia is 0.08.

NVDaily.com reported this morning that Virginia state police spokesman Sgt. F.L. “Les” Tyler received a third-party call of a vehicle headed eastbound on Interstate 66 that was swerving “all over the road.” Trooper C.R. Scally stopped the vehicle at 11:10 p.m. Saturday, which was occupied by Angle. He was arrested and susbequently transported to the Warren County Jail.

Regarding his erratic driving, Angle explains, “I was returning from an iMPACT Wrestling show in an unfamiliar place, late at night and was trying to find the exit for my hotel.”

We were the first to report that Kurt blew a .06 and was texting and driving at the time. We’ve since learned that the officer felt Angle may have been impaired by another substance besides alcohol. That is the reason for the DUI charge.

Would the company you worked for get blamed if you got drunk after work and drove home?

Can't people take responsibility for their own actions anymore?

Most companies would have fired me if I had Kurt Angle's record. Or refused to hire me altogether. Further, my job doesn't have a history of people dropping dead at relatively young ages due to abuse of drugs. Or a history of pushing them on their workers. Or a claim as to the routine check and for and opposition of such substances.

Of course, asking TNA to take responsibility for their decisions or supposed practices is wrong, but demanding personal responsibility on Angle's behalf is totally cool. And that's in no way hypocritical of you, brother.

Hey, I'm not saying that TNA shouldn't shoulder some of the blame here, I'm playing "Devil's Advocate" if anything.

Seems a lot of people on these boards will quickly jump to the defense of any individual wrestler (except Matt/Jeff Hardy or Hogan, of course) over any subject. First hint of someone who's not a wrestler having a bad word to say and that person is damned to hell by the "IWC" (see, the thread on Owen's wife, the thread on DH Smith's mother, etc).

There's contributing factors across the board but it seems it's easier to blame <strike>Canada</strike> TNA.

It is easier to blame TNA. But I don't think anyone's saying Kurt's JUST a victim.

I was just deconstructing your claim.

Also, I get that the IWC is loaded with tards who will defend pretty much anyone, even people they hate themselves, from outsiders. It's pretty much a cult.

But on the flipside, a lot of people have attacked him or say that they hope he sorts himself out. The level of actual fanboyism is pretty low, even if Kurt Angle was quite awesome.

On the flipside, this does raise an important question:

How fucked up is it that TNA makes WWE look responsible?
