Who would you like to see as the tag team champs?
 

I think Air Boom is a great team, and they've done well with the tag team championships thus far. A lengthy run may benefit both them and the titles.

Awesome Truth blend really well as a team, and capturing the titles might make them seem even more legitimate than they already do...but do they need them? They seem to be getting pretty over without the belts, but perhaps a reign from them may actually bring prestige to the title?

Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger are also a good team who appear to be on the rise. Swagger would probably benefit more from a title win for this team than Ziggler would, but Ziggler holding two titles at once may be a good move to keep pushing his credibility in the right direction. It would also help put Vickie over as a managerial success.

I really like the idea of Ziggler with two titles, but I think Air Boom needs to at least have a longer run than McGillotunga did.

Truth/Miz with the titles would be a great boost for both.

I do like that there are actual teams that I could realistically see becoming champs, though. I don't know if I could have said that a few months ago.

If they win them, I feel it has to happen with Johnny Ace still in charge, just to add more fuel to him playing favorites.

Air Boom is a decent set up and all, but it's not the right way to shoulder the revival of a tag-team division. The team isn't really natural.

Broken record: Bring back gimmicky tag teams. Miz and Truth are way better suited for the job, and I think they'll play more of a role in it when they're done with their current story until they both move on.

I really don't get why they didn't think about this when the Hart Dynasty was feuding with the Uso's. Don't get me wrong, Hart Dynasty wasn't a team that thrilled me too much, but the name recognition and relation to some great tag teams in the past was the perfect medium to connect it all to the present.

If I had to pick a team besides Miz and Truth (they're by far the most over of any "tag team") I would go with the Uso's.

I'd love to see a "Freebird" type stable with Trent Barreta, Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder.....you could even throw Tyler Reks in there as the bodyguard/muscle.....

Foley's coming back soon. I think he'd get jealous if Cena was the peoples' partner for a title reign.

Speaking of which, something tells me Foley is going to try to get these guys not to fight or something. Be pretty funny. I can see the segments now, with Foley playing peer mediator with Rock and Cena.

Air Boom have been good as champs but a tag reign of Team Vickie would work perfectly with Ziggler trying to inform everyone he wants to restore the prestige to the belts like he claimed the US title being stronger than the WWE title.

Right now, I think Air Boom should hold onto the belts for quite a while. Have The Miz & R-Truth beat Cena & The Rock at Survivor Series, when The Rock and Cena's team implodes. Riding that momentum, The Miz & R-Truth become #1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championship at TLC. They get their shot in either a TLC or regular Ladder Match. Now, since The Awesome Truth would be riding two mega-victories against babyfaces, and the next PPV is the Rumble; I think it would actually benefit the WWE to put Air Boom over there.

At the Rumble, a main eventer like The Miz is always going to look like a potential winner, and his alignment with R-Truth would only add to that. They don't need the titles to be a huge factor, whereas Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston would both look more impressive heading in as the team that beat the super-team of the WWE.

Now, the main events for WrestleMania seem like they could be something like Cena vs. The Rock, Orton vs. Daniel Bryan and a WWE Championship match (maybe Del Rio vs. Punk II?). A lot of people are calling The Miz vs. Punk, but where would that leave Truth? And Del Rio? I'd put the WWE Tag Team Titles on The Awesome Truth sometime on the Road to WrestleMania, and build them up for a big tag bout at Mania. Maybe facing The Undertaker & Triple H? Taker won't need to work as hard if he can sit on the apron for the whole match, and it plays off the history between Taker & Hunter, and could be used to finalise this "Conspiracy" angle. If that were the case, your Tag Champs after Mania would probably be Triple H & The Undertaker, although I doubt their reign would last long before The Awesome Truth won the belts back.

You'd need to build up another face team to take the titles of The Miz & R-Truth, though, and right now I've got no idea. A team consisting of Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara sounds like it could be someone in the WWE's wet dream, though.

Only then does tag wrestling even stand a chance.

Miz and R-Truth would make an awesome tag team champions, and that's the truth. I don't know about the All American American Americans yet, rather stick them as an alliance than a team.

Well I stand corrected. I just remember seeing that Mark Henry post and knew that I'd quoted it.

I'd like to see them build up some talent that is doing "nothing else".

Whilst it's nice to have the tag belts on Kofi/Bourne, Miz/Truth, Swagger/Ziggler all of those guys are useful outside of the tag division. A team like Hawkins and Reks could be built up and eventually win the belts from the upper-midcard tandems and it actually mean something. Maybe a team of Bateman/Curtis or Watson/O'Neil.

The only thing is that those guys don't really mean anything, XL. They really should, but they don't.

That's why, in this scenario, they've been built up during the period that Zwaggler, Air Boom and Awesome Truth have been trading the belt.

By no means do I think any of the teams I suggested should be holding the betls right now, but what'st he point of building the belts if not to use them to get other teams over?
