R-Truth Suspended

Well...we all saw that one coming.

#BROKEN Hasney 11-22-2011 10:06 AM

At least he'll have more time with the pigeons.

Aguakate 11-22-2011 10:19 AM

He gets the big push and exposure, and he screws it up.

I'm not sure if he'll ever get pushed again...at least to this level.

Wake Up Call 11-22-2011 10:26 AM

What an idiot.

whiteyford 11-22-2011 10:29 AM

Is this the synthetic marijauna again? Seems like a few guys are getting picked up for it lately.

Londoner 11-22-2011 10:30 AM

They wont have a roster left at this rate.

RP 11-22-2011 10:30 AM

What's up?

addy2hotty 11-22-2011 10:32 AM

Little Jimmy and Pidgey made him do it.

WWE were stupid to give a guy with two previous drug busts (at least one on their watch) a big push anyway.

It's like they set themselves up to be screwed. Was there ever any chance R Truth wasn't going to fuck shit up?

Hopefully they do not turn him face upon his return. Or if they do, he is still insane.

Emperor Smeat 11-22-2011 12:01 PM

:-\ So I guess that means the idea of revitalizing the tag team division is officially over since no heel team was as great as Awesome Truth although the same could be said for a face team and Air Boom.

Only needed 10 more days to resume the feud Air Boom had with Awesome Truth.

Lock Jaw 11-22-2011 12:08 PM

The Miz is honestly better off on his own.

I think it's bullshit that they waited this long to suspend him.

Here's a little question- should WWE allow wrestlers to work without pay (or reduced pay for X number of pay periods to equal the amount they'd miss pending on which strike they're on) to keep themselves on TV and relevant?

Further, he could do it on camera in front of two cops and a priest, get arrested, and not be suspended.

I bet that would go over well with the shareholders (the only reason they do the Wellness Policy)

Mr. Nerfect 11-22-2011 04:30 PM

KK brought up a great point -- it's not like R-Truth has a squeaky clean background. Someone gave the dude another chance to get right up to the top of the WWE, and he kinda blew it. Reminds me of the William Regal situation in 2008.

Rammsteinmad 11-22-2011 04:31 PM

I hope this doesn't effect his push too badly. I didn't really like Truth as a face, and never thought he'd grow on me as a heel, but his heel stuff has been really entertaining.

Interesting that his character has been involved with suspension/fired storylines, constant attacks, smoking in arenas, and basically causing absolute chaos in WWE, yet in real life, the guy is busted getting high and now he's suspended.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPE.

I guess this explains why Air Boom didn't drop the titles. A gesture to keep Bourne sweet for allowing Truth to carry on and work the Survivor Series main event before taking his suspension. All very wishy-washy.

XCaliber 11-22-2011 10:03 PM

This is a totally valid point applicable to any wrestler from any embarassing situation that 8isn't* named Jeff Nero Hardy.

What other instances have happened where there have been issues with R-truth? I've never heard of anything else apart from this?

Remember back when he was K Kwik? No? Don't worry, nobody does.

He was fired for hard drugs along with (I think) Road Dogg.

He'd already had problems at that point.

Wasn't there also some shit in TNA?

Kane Knight 11-23-2011 10:16 AM

Or, at least, during his time with TNA?

What ever it was, it must have been settled, because he was on Raw last time they were in Canada.

When he got fired from WWE, the incident I said I thought involved Road Dogg as well (Still pretty sure it's the case) happened as they were crossing into Canadia.

I may have shit slightly out of order, but there was an issue at the border which I believe led to the trouble.

Kane Knight 11-23-2011 06:31 PM

Shit, looks like Killings wasn't fired for that incident.

Must have been settled because I saw him at a House show here in Barrie, Ontario, Canada.

Highlight of the night was probably his anti-Canadian promo.

MoFo 11-23-2011 07:48 PM

He'll be back in the Rumble.

So why not use the real stuff? Especially if you only get fined for it.

And why do you get suspended for using man-made and not organic? Is one more potent/more illegal?

Juan 11-25-2011 04:45 PM

I have no idea. Seems pretty retarded tho

Kane Knight 11-25-2011 06:32 PM

One thing it is is more dangerous.

I don't know why people smoke it, but I do have a guess as to why it's punished more strongly. If you look at the main reason WWE has a wellness policy and suspends people, it's an ass-covering measure. They won't want people getting caught dying on their watch. I don't know mortality rates, but synthetic marijuana is landing a fuckton of people in the hospital, something WWE can ill afford. At least, PR-wise.

That still leaves the question of why you'd smoke it instead and I don't know. Maybe it's more potent or easier to hide or something.

Droford 11-26-2011 07:01 PM

The company now has to re-write top level storylines and has one less player for 30 days. I hope R-Truth gets his shit together and all that, but the dude has had a history of drug problems in the past, and seemed to build enough trust and respect with higher-ups that he was given a spot as a main eventer (even if he was never going to be the WWE Champion, or anything), and it's blown up in the company's face.

Also, if a little fake weed is in the company's wellness policy, then talent should be smart enough to avoid it. That goes for Darren Young, Heath Slater and Evan Bourne, too. I wouldn't go as far as to say they should be released (that's what the third strike is for), but I would be looking for a heel team to take the WWE Tag Team Titles off Air Boom soon, and Darren Young should spend some more time back down in FCW, and any push for Slater should be put on the back-burner.

The reason this policy is there is so that representatives of the company do not embarrass the WWE publically. There is nothing worse than being a main event talent and getting busted for this shit. Regal ruined his own push, and I suspect that Truth might have done his in, too.

Where I work we assist people with substance abuse issues. Because of this we regularly test our clients, a normal test will not show the fake marijuana in any way and the test required to test for it is like 125 dollars a pop from the same place we get normal 5 panel (Meth, Weed, Amphetimines, Benzo, and one other type of drug) So chances are they may have figured WWE was too cheap to pay the extra for the other test.

I don't know about all the differant types of Spice out there, but the one that's big here has a good amount of THC sprayed or soaked into it. So wouldn't that pop a test?
