Guest entrants at the Royal Rumble

Who would you like to see as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble?

Anybody Thrilla 12-06-2011 04:23 PM

I'd only like to see someone who has an actual shot of winning. Perhaps a Chris Jericho or someone. While it was nice seeing Diesel and Booker T last Rumble, it was pretty obvious that they weren't going to win. I also think it cheapens the fact that some people had to earn their way into the Rumble via qualifying matches and such.

MoFo 12-06-2011 04:38 PM

Anyone but Foley, Piper and Jimmy Snuka

Innovator 12-06-2011 04:42 PM

Gregory Iron, would be a good story.

Hanso Amore 12-06-2011 05:01 PM

I really love it when it is someone we havent seen in a long time.

Like Rikiski would be fun. Let him lay some guys out and hit the lights for a dance.

Val Venis would be cool.

I dunno, I dont mind it. Its a way to add some fun to a long generic match featuring a bunch of shitty Undercarders.

WHen Mr Perfect came back, I fucking marked like a kid.

That would be sick. As long as the whole schtick happened.

Rollermacka 12-06-2011 05:11 PM

Iron Sheik. This way they could have him win because he's the only participant who can't take a bump over the top rope :shifty:

JimmyMess 12-06-2011 05:36 PM

Foley will for sure
Road Dogg will for sure

The Rock would be epic.

weather vane 12-06-2011 05:45 PM

I love when they have surprise entrants... best part of the Rumble by far.

jskinnyg 12-06-2011 06:15 PM

Jericho for sure...

Gertner 12-06-2011 06:15 PM

The New Age Outlaws appearing would be epic

BizarroKing 12-06-2011 07:51 PM

To swerve everyone I wanna see, for pretty much no reason, the wwe debut of this man...the greatest wrestler of our modern day...

Are they doing 40 or back to 30 this year?

Theo Dious 12-06-2011 11:50 PM

It'll probably be 45.

Lock Jaw 12-07-2011 12:06 AM

I heard "newz" that it was going back to 30.

BizarroKing 12-07-2011 12:26 AM

yes it's confirmed it'll be 30 again. Only reason they did 40 this past one was so they could have Nexus and The Corre in it.

Rammsteinmad 12-07-2011 01:24 AM

I say this every year, but someone like Kurt Angle, if TNA and WWE could arrange for a one-night deal, would be fucking epic. Anyone from TNA really would be cool, just for that huge company-crossover shock.

Rammsteinmad 12-07-2011 01:25 AM

Besides the Cena kids, who wouldn't mark out hearing this?!

What a dickhead post. You easily could have just posted a list of names. I don't know why you think anyone would care so much about YOUR opinion on the matter as to go and listen to ten fucking theme songs that I'm sure we've already heard. I will click on none of that madness, and you should feel ashamed.

Don't worry, guys. I'm sure that post will be deleted after he reads this.

I love guest spots in the Rumble and feel they are absolutely necessary.

Totally marked when Tatanka returned at Rumble 06.

Mr. Nerfect 12-10-2011 02:56 AM

Here are surprise entrants that I would personally like to see:

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/1hxgMRSiIiA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The idea of the Royal Rumble getting "Hassan'd" is pretty amazing in my head. Plus, Hassan is still fairly young, and when he was written off he was an incredibly hot heel that was working his way into contention for the World Heavyweight Championship. Have Daivari return with him at his side, and have Daivari yell at everyone in the Rumble in Farsi, before Hassan waits outside the ring for his spot, and then perhaps dumps one babyface before getting a few minutes to work before a top face dumps him out.

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/3hgoPryhSlc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Steve Blackman could literally be marketed by the WWE to be the Chuck Norris joke of their company. Just have him come out, beat up a few guys with his awesome stuff, and then yell "It's party time!" before a heel rakes his eyes and dumps him out (The Miz?). Blackman wants to get back in, but the referees tell him he can't, so Blackman stares a hole through The Miz and then walks to the back defeated... this time.

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/nLfIu4zRzoI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I like John Morrison. I would like to see him return to the WWE. Even if it's just to do some cool shit in the Rumble for one pay day.

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/PWnn4S5RqAE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I am not the only one who would shit bricks if Lesnar decided to return in the 2012 Royal Rumble. Have Paul Heyman cackling at his side, and you've got a fantastic moment.

Mr. Nerfect 12-10-2011 07:20 AM

Also, for kicks and giggles, I would not mind it if a version of The Shockmaster returned for the Royal Rumble. Put Batista in a helmet, have him come through a wall and start break-dancing.

Emperor Smeat 12-14-2011 03:11 PM

Assuming Jericho is the one for those "it begins" videos, then Undertaker would be pretty awesome as a surprise and would take out whoever wanted to challenge him for the streak at Mania.

The opposite would also be good if Jericho was the surprise guest and just had a stare down moment with CM Punk as a nod to both guys claiming to own the "Best in the World" tag.

Lesnar would be huge but I'm not sure what his UFC schedule is for the early part of next year although him as a guest host or appearance for Mania would be good.

Morrison would also be a nice surprise if he returns early next year or just as one time deal before Mania.

Knowing the WWE, Brodus Clay will finally make his long promised debut during the Rumble itself.

Lock Jaw 12-14-2011 03:14 PM

Lesnar guest hosts Mania, helps The Rock beat Cena. Next day on RAW, they set a match for WMXXIX, Lesnar vs. Cena.

Would love to see Rock come out early (low teens at latest) and last some serious time. The have Brock come out in the last 5 as a surprise when the rings full on Midcard cluster!@#$.

Imagine a Rock, Brock, Punk, Jericho final 4. (keep in mind I dodnt really watch the product anymore)

But more likely Kane will return at the Rumble and destroy the midcarders.

KIRA 12-15-2011 05:55 AM

I clicked one song randomly and I got fucking Muhammad Hassan seriously, the love some of you guys have for this man is confounding.

In a perfect unrealized unrealistic world my avatar would be a guest entry in the coming Royal Rumble
barring that Blackman, Lesnar or JBL would be cool

Question: Has anyone actually debuted in the Royal Rumble Match? It'd be quite interesting to have a guy show up and do quite well. It would probably have to be someone who looks quite distinct. A masked character or a really huge dude for example.

Not going to lie -- Ultimo Dragon returning would make me absolutely cream myself. His run in 2004 was anti-climatic, to say the least, but the focus on smaller guys was different then, and the slip was a human mistake that ruined some of his mystique. It'd be cool if he got the chance to redeem his last WWE run, and get one more chance to sell a few Ultimo Dragon mask replicas. My dream would be for Matt Striker to be on commentary for this, because he'd be able to instantly sell Ultimo to people.

Iop 01-02-2012 09:26 AM

Mr. C 01-25-2012 11:54 PM

I’ve been thinking that Goldust is going to be in the Royal Rumble and eliminate Cody Rhodes. Last I read, Goldust’s pitch for a match with Cody at WrestleMania was still a possibility, and their last interaction was Cody telling Dustin not to get any ideas about donning the paint and having one last run, so a part of me is thinking this is what’s going down as it makes sense, and another part of me wants it to go down because I’m a mark for both guys and would love it, so I’m calling it now.

EDIT: I read that this match is being considered for Elimination Chamber next month and had an idea that I really see happening. Goldust comes out first, only to be attacked from behind by Cody, much like Cody did to Booker T at TLC. Only this time, the match never starts and is rebooked for WrestleMania. They could even play up the attack at EC by making Cody come out first to ensure he defends the title and that what happened last time doesn't happen again. This way, you have each guy getting the upperhand at least once before Mania, with Goldust eliminating Cody from the Rumble and Cody taking out Goldust at EC. Just an idea that would carry this feud all the way to Mania, if it does happen.

Mr. Nerfect 01-26-2012 01:09 AM

I've said in other threads that I am like 98% sure this will happen, although I don't see the feud going until WrestleMania. I see Goldust eliminating his brother and making a statement, before going for the Intercontinental Title at Elimination Chamber (possibly with Booker T in his corner). Rhodes retains cleanly there, does his whole "This is reality and I'm better than you" shtick before heading towards WrestleMania, where, ideally, they do a match between Cody Rhodes and Zack Ryder (who regains the US Title from Jack Swagger at the Chamber PPV), with both titles on the line (although they both remain active). Rhodes wins there, and then comes out on RAW and does the same thing for the US Title that he did for the IC Title -- he brings back an old-school design. Rhodes then dominates RAW and SmackDown! as both the IC and US Champion.

Rhodes is built up through 2012 as the king of the mid-card -- a heel that cannot be beaten due to his natural abilities and cunning. In some weird sort of way, he's a champion of tradition, and it's slowly established in people's minds that Cody is just... good. He's established as a fantastic champion, and it does whoever takes one (or both) of his titles a lot of good.

Mr. Nerfect 01-26-2012 01:12 AM

To remain on topic, I think a lot of the guest entrants in this year's Rumble will be guys from within the company but are just not advertised to appear. The following list may not be met entirely, but all these guys are likely possibilities, in my opinion:

* Christian
* CM Punk (enters to prove he's "The Best in the World")
* Dolph Ziggler
* Goldust
* Hornswoggle
* Kane
* Road Dogg

RVDmark 01-26-2012 08:05 AM

So what's the odds of The Rock being in the match? If Mania is set to be his final farewell it would make sense to have him in the rumble so he can interract with a lot of people in a short amount of time. Plus you have to fill the time somehow.

Also hope Steve Blackman is in there somewhere too.

What surprises, as rumored, do folks have pegged for the Royal Rumble? Fully expect Goldust to be in there to eliminate Cody Rhodes and start their feud. Triple-H maybe?

What shape is Rikishi in nowadays? I would like for him to show up and dance with Brodus Clay.

That is all.

I dare you to type in Rikishi under Yahoo! images and watch what comes up. There's a recent in-ring shot in the third row of photos, and he's humongous.

Nobody wants to see Rikishi in a thong in 2012, plus chances are he'd stink face somebody. There isn't anybody on the current roster deserving of that.
