brainbusters

Somebody give me a compelling arguement as to why Tully Blanchard and arn Anderson aren't the best team of all time. Go ahead and try

Gertner 12-08-2011 11:31 AM

Your daughter is ugly. I win.

Nicky Fives 12-08-2011 12:05 PM

Anderson is boring and wouldn't have been have as popular if it weren't for Ric Flair.....

Gertner 12-08-2011 12:06 PM

the dudebusters were better

Hanso Amore 12-08-2011 12:40 PM

Because you are a fucking faggot, thats why.

go Drown your baby.

legendkillerRKO 12-08-2011 12:40 PM

because they were boring and had no personality...Arn Andersons still has no personality

Spaff 12-08-2011 12:46 PM

Because i said so

Rammsteinmad 12-08-2011 12:58 PM

They didn't have Chris Jericho.

DLVH84 12-08-2011 01:11 PM

Like J.J. said about Flair, they weren't Vince's creation. And back then, Vince wanted to bury NWA and AWA talent that came to WWF, every chance he gets.

Razzamajazz 12-08-2011 01:18 PM

BLAINBUSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Jordan 12-08-2011 01:39 PM

Two words, two reasons, two men The Road Warriors.

whiteyford 12-08-2011 02:01 PM

I don't want to agree with fragile X so i'll say Legion of Doom.

Lock Jaw 12-08-2011 02:06 PM

Two Words:

Nark Order 12-08-2011 02:09 PM

They are the greatest tag team of all time, everybody just fucking hates Clox.

Nark Order 12-08-2011 02:09 PM

BUT YOU STEPPED ON MY GRAVYYYY!!!!!

Rollermacka 12-08-2011 02:22 PM

Why aren't the Brainbusters the best tag team?
Because the Enforcers were, duh :p

Anybody Thrilla 12-08-2011 02:28 PM

The Beverly Brothers would like to have a word with you.

They would like to say "what about the Road Warriors?".

Anybody Thrilla 12-08-2011 02:30 PM

BTW, if it's a compelling argument AGAINST you're actually looking for with this thread, I think the best place to start would be with a compelling argument FOR. Just saying. Unless you're content to carry on the way we have been here.

MoFo 12-08-2011 02:30 PM

Because Edge & Christian

Lock Jaw 12-08-2011 02:33 PM

They're no Mean Street Posse.

Anybody Thrilla 12-08-2011 02:36 PM

What was your favorite combo of the MSP? I think I like Rodney and Pete Gas the best. The originals. I like Joey Abs as an enforcer type, but those two should have held the titles.

Nark Order 12-08-2011 02:39 PM

I liked that MSP match against Kaientai where MSP did some of the most innovative moves I've ever seen and they still lost. Seemed like they were auditioning finishing moves or something but it just wasn't enough to topple the immense power of the EVIIIILLLLL Kaientai.

For sure. Rodney and Pete Gas all the way. No championship run for them is one of the biggest crimes in WWE history.

Gertner 12-08-2011 02:50 PM

Rodeny and Joey Abs. Was never impressed with Pete Gas's workrate.

Nark Order 12-08-2011 02:50 PM

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE GAS MASK?!?!?

You wouldn't feel that way if you saw him at the Chinese Buffet. Kid could go.

Cuse8 12-08-2011 03:36 PM

the best tag team ever to me will always be demolition

Anybody Thrilla 12-08-2011 03:37 PM

What was your favorite combination of Demolition? I know Ax and Smash were the originals, but I think I preferred Smash and Crush.

VSG 12-08-2011 05:16 PM

I knew I saw The Posse being mentioned.

Indifferent Clox 12-08-2011 05:18 PM

fuck a compelling arguement

Their wrestling speaks for itself

Then fuck a compelling argument against. Did you see the MSP's sweater vests? They fucking speak for themselves.

The Dead Pool version or the Oddities version?

Corporate CockSnogger 12-08-2011 05:27 PM

ICP were better

Corndad 12-08-2011 05:42 PM

The Rockers, Anyone?

Nark Order 12-08-2011 05:55 PM

I love the Brain Busters and I'd rate them ridiculously high if I had a list of top tag teams, but at the same time I do think wrestlers from the 70s and 80s get rated much higher than they deserve sometimes due to nostalgia and due to wrestling being in its heyday then. The Brian Busters had much more to work with than say a team like the Dudleys Boys that had to scratch and claw their way all the way to the top, starting from Bingo Halls. Comparing those two teams seems like a mismatch to me at first because when I think of the Brain Busters, I think of everything that went with them, but that isn't fair. If I were to compare the two teams based on ability and showmanship, I'd say it's either tied or the Dudleys have the slight edge.

Be careful when doing "All Time" lists because you can really get sucked into the time and the place if you aren't careful.

Ruien 12-08-2011 05:57 PM

They were not the Road Warriors. Next?

BEER!!!.....MONEY!!!,Rockers,Demos,Harts,Bulldogs,LOD, Outsiders...etc. were better imo. Never saw what the big deal with Tully was.

No. Watch the footage for yourself, make up your own mind, and have have debates on who you feel the greatest tag team of all time really is.

btw- My vote goes to The Rockers.

Triple Naitch 12-08-2011 08:44 PM

OH YOU DIDN'T KNOW?

Anybody Thrilla 12-08-2011 08:47 PM

The New Age Outlaws are definitely not the best team of all team. We can at least all agree on that.

Triple Naitch 12-08-2011 08:48 PM

:'(

FourFifty 12-08-2011 08:48 PM

While on the subject of tag teams, you know who doesn't get nearly enough credit in the tag team scene? The Freebirds. One of the best tag teams out there. They could have made WCCW if it wasn't for the booking.

Anybody Thrilla 12-08-2011 08:51 PM

I feel like they get a ton of credit, but OK.

FourFifty 12-08-2011 08:58 PM

Very few people that I talk to about tag teams mention The Freebirds. I talk about The Natural Disasters more than them. All due credit to The Natural Disasters (I keep an Earthquake action figure in my glove box, not sure why, he just has always lived in every can I've had) but they shouldn't be more talked about than the Freebirds.

Age and exposure seem to be the key factors here.

FourFifty 12-08-2011 09:11 PM

Exposure, yes. Age, not an issue. I'm not a fan of people who say "it's before my time" on any subject. Some of the best music may have been made before most of us were born (take that as classic rock or classical music, dealer's choice). Same goes for literature. Hell, my favorite movie was made in 1957. Exposure was an issue, but not age.

However, for the more common place fan who refuses to look into history, I can see the reasoning for age and it's relation to exposure... I'm not happy with it, but I see it.

Anybody Thrilla 12-08-2011 09:15 PM

Relax. I'm just saying that a lot of people you talked to probably saw a lot more of the Natural Disasters than the Freebirds. I know I did. I don't take anything away from the Freebirds, but I haven't made much of an effort to go back and watch a bunch of their material.

Plus, Michael Hayes is a racist, so fuck him.

FourFifty 12-08-2011 09:21 PM

Just because he said he's blacker than some black wrestler (legit cannot recall who he said that about) does not make him a racist... The fact that he has dropped the N word on the other hand is a valid argument for being a racist.

But hey, you're right. More people on this board (and more "adult" fans in general) have seen more of The Natural Disasters, The Nasty Boys, The Rockers, The Legion of Doom, etc than The Freebirds because of their exposure (mainly their time in WWF during that era).

I wanted to find the pic where the Steiners had all the belts sort of like that one Ultimo Dragon pic..

Gertner 12-09-2011 11:35 AM

Freebirds were pretty great, but mainly when Gordy and Hayes tagged. Roberts was kinda meh.

My favourite tag team were the Acolytes, but I wouldn't call them the best or even near it.

Sixx 12-09-2011 12:10 PM

Tell your daughter you sucked dicks to provide for her and see if she's not embarassed. Go ahead and try.

........................I have a few people to say that to..............

mike adamle 12-09-2011 05:07 PM

I think Edge & Christian have to be up there for greatest tag team. So many reigns. So many good matches. The epic Hardys-Dudleyz feud. Innovating the tag team ladder match and tlc matches. And they've done pretty well for themselves in the singles divisions too.

FourFifty 12-09-2011 05:14 PM

Saying E&C were innovating the TLC matches it like saying the guy who put bacon on a burger was a visionary. All they did was add to something that was already classic. Yes, it was a good addition (I doubt people would want to eat a burger with cottage cheese, or see a tables, ladders, and frozen burrito match) but it was by no way something new.

The thing with E&C and their tag team scene was they had the best exposure. They were around when pro wrestling was white hot. Thrilla said it best, it's age and exposure.
